John headed up to the confrence room, when he arrived he found most people there already.
John took a seat and waited for Cmdr Matthew to start.
John was thinking what this meeting could be about, he couldn't think of anything, unless it was the torpedos again.

Having finished talking to the Captain, Tiberian quickly left the bridge and went to the armoury, where the ships marine complement was waiting expectantly. They rose and stood to attention upon Tiberian's entrance, and were seated by a hand gesture. "Alright, looks like some of us are going over for security purposes. I'll be taking four of you with me, some for protecting the senior officers, others for recon. Three key rules of diplomacy I expect you all to abide by. One, don't get drunk and show up the Captain, Corps or uniform. Two, don't start fights or start shooting unless absolutely necessary. Three" He paused thinking for a moment "Just try not to screw up. OK, I'll be sticking with the Captain, so I want Martinez, T'Lar, Bob, and you" He pointed at a random marine "Side arms and tricorders only"
"Attention will Chief Roberts /Wigram/Lt Tiberian report to Conference room -B" A voice came over the intercom.
"Looks like my number's up" Tiberian said to himself. He checked the setting on his phaser and moved towards the door. Just before he left, he turned to the marines who were busying themselves for departure. "I almost forgot, rule number four, No Romulan Ale" He left, considering how much of a hypocrite he was, considering the bottle hidden in his quarters. He shrugged it off. Moments later he entered the conference room. He inclined his head in a slight bow at the assembled officers and took his place at the table. "Sir, apologies for being late, sir" He addressed Commander Matthew "Respctfully sir, is this going to be very long. I'm in the middle of organising security for the boarding party.... I mean dinner party" He corrected himself

Nika acknowledged Wong's permission to bring security along, and although she didn't think it was necessary she was fairly sure that if the marines and security were low key enough they wouldn't offend anyone. And they would make her feel more comfortable about the diplomatic circumstances. When Wong went back to working Nika started to draw up a mental list of those who would be accompanying her to the diplomatic dinner. 1st Lieutenant Wong, and Tiffani, at least so Nika assumed, as well as probably Lt. Kane. Commander Daniels had already said she wouldn't be going, and Nika wasn't sure about the rest of her senior staff. She was sitting on the bridge when Lt. Commander Jameson informed her about an incoming message, that wasn't tagged with a location.
“I'll take it,” Nika said.
“They say it's private,” Jameson told her.
Nika rolled her eyes slightly, and stood up and walked towards her office. This was just the kind of thing that would contribute to some of the rumors that the Victory was here for something besides routine diplomatic talks. Nika only wished that were the case. She sat down in her chair behind her desk and turned on the screen.
“Captain,” said the man in a Starfleet lieutenant's uniform that appeared on the screen.
Nika nodded at him, wondering what he wanted, but she didn't have to wait long.
“I understand the Victory recently received some torpedoes that it wasn't supposed to.”
Nika nodded again.
“I apologize for that. I believe some paperwork must have been misplaced, and no one thought to doublecheck that the Victory was actually the ship that had requested torpedoes. I hope no terrible inconvenience was caused?”
“Not truly,” Nika replied, after all the only thing the torpedoes had caused was a great deal of curiosity and a few investigations into their origins.
“Well, however slight you say it is, it should never have happened in the first place. At this point I believe...” the man glanced down at something out of the view of the screen, and frowned. “Diplomatic talks?” he asked, as if requesting confirmation, so Nika nodded.
“In that case...the Victory will have to meet up with the Acheron...on your way back from the diplomatic conference. They'll still be around in the area, so if you can just keep track of the torpedoes until then...”
Nika raised an eyebrow, a little surprised that the lieutenant was suggesting she wouldn't do so.
“All right then. You can discuss details with the Acheron's captain then.” He leaned forward and turned off the screen, terminating the conversation. Nika turned off her own screen, and thought about what he had said. Essentially the Victory was going to do just what they had planned to, keep watch over the torpedoes until they could get them back to wherever the torpedoes were originally supposed to be. Still, something seemed a little...off...
Nika stood up from her desk and walked towards the main bridge. Whatever her impression, it was probably nothing.
Nika entered the bridge and nodded at Lt. Commander Jameson, before continuing on through to Conference Room B, where Commander Matthew, Lieutenants Roberts and Wigram, and Marine 1st Lieutenant Wong were gathered. Nika paused briefly outside the door, then entered.
“Sorry to interrupt,” she said softly. “But according to Starfleet the torpedoes are on the Victory by accident. We'll be transferring them back to the USS Acheron after we're finished here, and should just keep them secure until then.”

As far as I know the force force field had been place round, and a member of my security personel has been place outside of storage bay 24, I will check on them after this meeting, unless you wish me to go down now myself and check.
John sat briefly waiting for the commaders response.

OOC: Hope no-one minds, but seeing as I don't have much to do on ship yet, I'm going to post ahead to about 19:00, and then wait for everyone to catch up. Don't rush to catch up, I've actually nothing better to do than sit in a transporter room.
IC: Tiberian, went to the Captain's side as the others filed out of the meeting: "I hope you don't mind ma'am, but I would like to remain close to you this evening" He suddenly realised the double entendre. "I mean that I'd like to be with you" He cursed himself silently "I mean that I would like to provide close personal security, ma'am" He finally concluded.
<TAG Captain Cir'Kem>
He left the conference room, and returned to his quarters. He toyed with the idea of wearing dress uniform, but eventually decided that it would be better for him and his marines to appear as business like as possible. He relayed this thought to his men. He then replicated hismelf a cup of jasmine tea, and sat down to review the overview of the conference that the Captain had sent him.
~Later, about 18:55~ Tiberian strode into the transporter room were his marines were already waiting, phasers holstered. He conducted a brief inspection of the men, joking to the Andorian private that his antennae were nowhere near straight enough for a formal dinner. "Sergeant Major Martinez" Tiberian called. "Yes Sir" came a shouted reply. Tiberian nearly winced, so this was why other officers didn't like him shouting sir. "If the XO is coming, you're her personal attatchment. Failing that stick to Commander Matthew. Failing that just keep an eye on everything, alright" A nod confirmed his order. "Alright lads, look's like we're a bit early, lets just sit and wait for the others"

“Yes, of course,” Nika replied to Commander Matthew's check if he could go on a dinner date on the station the evening. She was a little surprised she was asked, but she guessed this was kind of Commander Matthew's way to let her know that he wouldn't be coming to the diplomatic dinner, if that was all right.
The others were leaving the conference room as Nika listened to Tiberian stumble on his way to express his desire to come along as a security escort. She was going to say that she understood when Wong managed to express the sentiment in a way he felt comfortable with.
“If you think that's necessary,” Nika said, and nodded, dismissing him. She frowned slightly after he had left, she wasn't sure that she felt overly comfortable with the idea of having someone essentially perform the role of a guard. But Nika guessed that was just going something she was going to have to put up with, one of so very many. At least this way even if absolutely no one at the diplomatic conference wanted to talk to her she wouldn't be left to stand completely on her own in a corner. On the other hand, Nika preferred the idea that no one would want to talk to her to the alternative. Ugh. Diplomatic talks, that weren't even meant to accomplish anything specific. The worst of all worlds.
~~Later, 18:50~~
Nika frowned one last time at her image in the mirror. The dress uniform actually looked fine, but it didn't feel the most comfortable, and Nika couldn't resist the urge to straighten it one last time. Then she left her quarters and she deliberately took an incredibly indirect itinerary, stopping by the bridge to be sure nothing had come up, then finally making her way to the transporter room, making it there but three minutes before seven.
“Ready?” she asked everyone waiting there, some of whom had told her ahead of time, and a few of whom had apparently just shown up. Nika stepped onto the transporter pad, wondering if Wong or Roberts would object to her going first, and hoped they wouldn't, since if any attack was truly going to happen on the station the Victory was going to be pretty much doomed anyway.
<Tag? (Wong, Roberts)>
Nika materialized on the station, and once the group of those coming was gathered together, they were led down the corridor for a while until they came to a large room with a view of the stars that had been set up with tables and fairly elegant dining arrangements.
The group was divided into two parts more or less randomly by the young woman who had lead them from the transporter room to the dining area, though Nika noticed that Wong managed to stay in the same group as her and split his marine forces in about half.
“You'll sit there, unless that's a problem?” the woman asked, pointing to a chair.
Nika nodded, then realized the woman was waiting for an answer, apparently requiring a vocal response. “That's fine,” Nika said, and they started to head toward the seats. She kept an eye on the other group, but noticed they were put nearby; the only purpose of splitting them up seemed to be so the Starfleet officers talked to diplomats, rather than just clustering into a group on their own.
Nika was seated across from an alien the species of which she didn't recall, but she was sure that she was supposed to know them. That was one of the problems with having been exposed to the majority of federation culture at the same time she was learning tactical and security.
“Hello,” Nika said. “I'm Captain Cir'Kem of the USS Victory-C.” She was about to try introducing those members of her staff that were with her to the person across her when they interrupted.
“Captain?” with a pointed glance at Nika's rank.
“Acting Captain, truly,” Nika replied, not apologizing simply because she had simply been following the Starfleet tradition, but the alien seemed to be expecting something. Nika glanced down at her empty plate for a moment, truly unsure what to say as response.

Tiberian was staring offinto space when the Captain and the other officers entered the transporter room. "Captain on deck, ten shun" He shouted, as he and the marines stood to attention, and he offered her a rigid salute. “Ready?” the Captain asked them, as she stepped onto the transporter pad. Tempted although he was to object, by now Tiberian had surmised the Captain to be a woman of strong will, so he held his silence. Moments later he and the remainder of the party materialised on the station. They followed the Captain down a corridor and into a well lit dining space, commanding an exceptional stellar view. Tiberian felt uncomfortable as the group was split, but not wanting to embarass the Captain, held his silence once again. He kept Corporal T'Lar with him, whilst gesturing to the other marines to protect the other group. "Is something wrong sir?" the corporal asked him, as Tiberian's eyes darted about the room, gathering information. "Not at all, Corporal" Tiberian replied, suddenly remembering how annoying the Vulcan knack for stating the bleeding obvious was. They were seated, and Tiberian took the seat to the left of the Captain. With a smile he rejected the champagne flute that was offered to him, instead requesting Bolian tonic water. He was making a final observation of the room, when he overheard the Captains conversation. He glanced quickly around the table, and heard the diplomats remarks. “Captain?” the diplmat enquired, looking at the Captain's rank. “Acting Captain, truly,” she replied, then looking down at her plate, as the diplomat stared on. "Surely, we are beyond such distinctions" Tiberian replied to the diplomat, a clear touch of acid in his tone as he defended the Captain. With the diplomats attention distracted from her, Tiberian slowly moved his right hand under the table and began tracing the diplomats species, "Arbazan" on her leg, hoping she understood the message. "A true Captain" Tiberian continued, his eyes unblinkingly staring into those of the diplomat "Like ours, is born of courage and honour, not pretty little insignia. Regardless, our Captain is a Firont, a species that would undoubtedly consider that wasting breath quibbling over Captain, or Acting Captain, as pointless. I am sure you didn't mean to deliberately offend our Captain's culture, did you sir?" Tiberian smiled and nodded at the Captain, as the diplomat baulked.

Tiffani sighed as she looked herself up and down one last time in the mirror, there was something about Diplomatic talks that lately Tiffani would just assume avoid, she finally gave up and made her way to the turbolift, she just barely arrived in time when the captain if everyone was ready..
*ready as will ever be* replied Tiffani with a small hint of distaste in her tone for Diplomatic mission, after all the last time she had talked to a Diplmoat it had started out as the down fall for her marriage. shortly thereafter her statement they was all transported to the location and was split up in groups, her group was sitting across from where the Captain was, she wasn't sure she was to thrilled of the idea but none the less accepted it. she frowned slightly as Tiberoun seem to attempt at protecting the Captains honor, she wouldn't step in unless it became necessary. she smiled at one of the aliens as he sit down beside her,
*hello* she said *First officer Rylka of the Federation vessel Uss Victory, and you are?*
OFF: a little post to let ya know I am present, just rather swamped in real life.

The anti-climax of the torpedoes was almost too much to stand, Wigram felt cheated of a real investigation. So he decided to just do his own research, as he now knew something about the torpedoes.
But after a while the torpedoes seemed to out of his area, he knew how to use them, how to build them, how to fire them but not how to investigate them, especially when there was little or nothing to investigate.
Wigram: Computer, open a joint channel to any avaliable members of the senior staff.
Computer: Channel open.
Wigram: Lt Wigram here- If anyone of the senior staff need anything done or any assistance, I am avaliable, the ships is up and running now.
Wigram thought it a desperate measure but his engineering was very quiet and seemed very distant from the mission- other than the non existant torpedoe trouble.

Nika was thinking about what to say when Tiberian started talking to the diplomat, apparently under the impression that she needed someone to interject. When he started tracing something on her leg she was a little confused. Federation standard wasn't her first language, and while she could certainly read and write it quite well, she didn't instantly recognize the words being traced until the second or third letter. Tiberian seemed to notice she hadn't gotten it all, so he repeated the tracing. Nika got most of the letters: A-bazan, and managed to fill in the last one, the r, to get Arbazan. She smiled at Tiberian, inclining her head slightly in thanks. Even if she wouldn't have to specifically say the species, it helped make her more confident knowing that she could if asked.
Still, despite her gratefulness for his sharing of knowledge, Nika thought Tiberian was reacting a bit more strongly than necessary. “I apologize Commander,” the ambassador replied, but Nika had a hard time not grinning at the ambassador's response, the way he stressed the commander, as if to show that he wasn't going to be intimidated by Tiberian.
Nika did smile slightly, but it was a diplomatically polite smile. “Not a problem, Mister...” Nika trailed off, pointing out that she didn't know his name, and that he had not in fact introduced himself at all.
“Savin,” he finished, frowning somewhat.
Nika nodded at him. “A pleasure to meet you.” She took a small sip of the champagne she had been given, leaving it up to Savin to find a topic of conversation, or doom them to sit awkwardly for a few moments.
She was sipping the champagne when Savin asked her a question. “What were your first impressions of the Federation?” he asked.
Nika set her glass down. “That the Federation was very large and very diverse. And that its diversity was one of its main strengths.” Nika suddenly felt like she was answering some essay question or another for a class, which wasn't a feeling she had had for quite a while. She knew she couldn't return the question, but she had a few questions ready in her mind. “How long have you been an ambassador?” she asked.

(On the Victory) John was getting ready for going down onto the station, he had already got his drees uniform redy that morning, but to him somthing jus didnt feel right about all of it, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
John changed into his dress uniform, double checked a few things, and then went to the transporter room were every one was to meet, no one was there besides wong so he began talking to him.
The captain arrived and requested to go first, John didnt really agree, but he didnt say anything.
(On the station)
When John first got to the station he went to a concole to try and see what the security was like, but he couldnt get in to it. One of the statins security personel came over to him and asked what he was doing, he said as politly as he could "I was going to have a look at the security, as the safty of my collegues is paramount to me", John could tell he didn't approve, but he walked away anyway.

Ardawen flew toward the Victory with his shuttle craft he was a bit late because of a small meteor shower, and he was glad to be there. Most of all because this was his first real job.
He gazed up on the Victory and took a breath what a beauty, he made one turn around the ship and haled the victory.
USS Victory, this is lt Ardawen.

As the conversation degenerated into diplomatic niceties, Tiberian asked to be excused for a moment. A wave of the Captains hand dismissed him, and with a short bow to the people at the table he left. As he walked away, he whispered in Corporal T'Lar's ear: "Mouth shut, ears open" Tiberian wandered around the floor, looking for anyone interesting to talk to. He stopped briefly to trade philosophical insights with a group of Vulcans, feigning a headache to leave when he realised the conversation was getting too deep. He then engaged a group of Andorian guards in the telling of battle stories, before they were called away to their ambassadors.Tiberian was about to turn away when he was caught by a sound blow over the back of the head. He turned hands raised to fight, when he recognised the civilian with her long black hair and oriental features. "Helena?" He asked "Hey little brother" She replied, embracing him in a firm hug. "What the hell are you doing here" Tiberian asked as he hugged her back. "I'm the diplomatic attache to the Klingon ambassador" she answered "He's getting some serious drinking done, so he told me to go and enjoy myself. What are you doing here" "I'm on assignment, SMO. Here come on, I want you to meet my crew" He led her over to the Captain's table, where he said. "Sorry to interrupt. Everyone this is my big sister, Helena Wong, diplomatic attache to the Klingon ambassador"

Tiffani was growing tired of the conversations. they seemed to go on forever, some debating over whose technology was better or who had the best diplomatic solutions. she rubbed her forehead a little noticing the stress coming back on. she sighed a little and smiled as a few passed her. she had been walking around meeting and talking wth the different ones, she made her way back over to where the Captain was sitting, she noticed quit a few had gathered there, she stepped up and spoke briefly
*Captain, i hate to interrupt but i request permission to return to the victory* She questioned hoping that the Captain would grant her wish.
<Tag Captain>
*I'm not feeling to well, i think i should report back to the ship. i'm sure i could be more useful there* she stated attempting to come up with an excuse so she could return to the ship, in all purpose of actually speaking to the Counselor. she needed some time away before she let her stress get the better of her.
<Tag Captain>
Thank you Captain. I promise i'll return as soon as i can. please give my apologizes to the Foreign Diplomates.
She turned and made her way back to the transporting place and contacted the victory to return her back to the ship
----Moments later back on the Victory----
Tiffani was exhausted just from the feelings she was experiencing. It was unhealthy for a Betazoid to feel this way and she knew it, even if she was only half. she would find sickbay later though, right now what she needed was an open ear, she made her way to the turbolift
*Counselors Office* She ordered as the turbolift sped into action. moments later she found herself on the deck with the counselors office was, she exited, and smiled briefly as a few ensigns walked past. she noticed the gave her a strange look, she knew why but didn't bother dealing with it right now, she turned the corridor and approached the second door on the left. she then tapped the panel to notife the Counselor she was here*

Lt. Commander Isha Yontz, the Victory's night XO, sat in the Captain's chair as the night skeleton crew came on duty to continue to monitor the Victory's status. Tonight Yontz expected even less to happen on the night watch than normal, since the Victory was just going to stay docked at the station, and Captain Cir'Kem was even still on duty to handle any major issues, though Isha knew the Captain would prefer not to be disturbed if possible.
“There's a shuttle approaching, opening a channel,” the night-watch operations officer said.
“On screen,” Isha ordered.
“USS Victory, this is Lt Ardawen,” said the lieutenant that appeared on the screen.
Isha glanced at him, then down at a PADD, matching his name to that of the new Chief Medical Officer. “Welcome to the Victory,” Isha told him. “I regret that the Captain isn't available right now,” she said, then told the operations officer to clear Lt. Ardawen's shuttle for docking. “However once you dock you can choose to either join her at the diplomatic dinner or settle in and start work in sickbay when you want to. I'm sure she'll welcome you on board herself after the diplomatic dinner is over.” Actually, having talked to Captain Cir'Kem some, Isha wasn't quite sure that would be the case. Especially given Captain Cir'Kem's dislike of saying unnecessary words. “It's your choice,” Isha offered.

Wong asked to leave, and Nika, recognizing the young marine officer's restlessness, allowed him to do so, only wishing that she could also leave the table as well, at least for a while. “5 years,” the Arbazan ambassador replied, and seemed about to continue talking, when Lt. Wong returned.
“Sorry to interrupt. Everyone this is my big sister, Helena Wong, diplomatic attache to the Klingon ambassador.”
“Hello. I'm Captain Nika Cir'Kem,” Nika said, greeting her Senior Marine Officer's sister. The SMO had only recently been added to her crew, but Nika already thought he was a great crew member. Nika was going to say something more, but Commander Rylka stepped to her side.
“Captain, i hate to interrupt but i request permission to return to the victory,” Tiffani said.
“All right,” Nika said, her voice raising at the end, in a kind of half question. She was a little surprised that Tiffani wasn't going to be staying longer, but Commander Rylka had seemed a little out of it lately.
“I'm not feeling to well, i think i should report back to the ship. i'm sure i could be more useful there”
Nika had the impression that Commander Rylka was searching for a reason to leave, and although Nika knew it looked better for the Victory as a ship to have both CO and FO at all of the diplomatic events, she certainly understood why Tiffani would want to leave. “Permission granted,” Nika replied.
Commander Rylka left, and the Abazan ambassador Savin looked at her, as if intending to ask her about what had just happened, but Nika cut him off. “I apologize for the interruption,” she said, but looking more at Wong's sister than at the ambassador. But Nika wasn't really sure what else she could say to Helena. After all, Tiberian had only been a member of the Victory crew for a fraction of time, and Nika hadn't really talked to him terribly much. “It's a pleasure to meet you,” Nika decided, saying what she had been going to say before she was interrupted, but which sounded kind of awkward now, after the break in conversation.

Matti was in his office looking over some files when he got a call from his daughter on the viewscreen.
"Yes, Miranda." Matti said when he answered it.
"When are you coming home for dinner? I made your favorite. Well I didn't make it, but i replicated it." She replied proudly.
Matti hadn't noticed that it was getting so late already.
"I just have to put some things away and I'll be on my way home. OK." Matti replied.
"OK. I'll be waiting." Miranda said before she ended the call.
Quickly as he could Matti put the files away where he could start again on them in the morning.
As he headed out the door to his office, Matti was startled to see Commander Rylka.
"Hello Commander." Matti said.

Matti could tell just by looking at her that something was on her mind. "Would you walk with me and tell me what is on your mind. Don't tell me nothing. I can see it in your face. Something is bothering you." Matti said as he led the way to his quarters.

As they arrived at his door, Miranda exited.
"Are you going to join us for dinner?" She asked excitedly as she looked up at the two standing there.
Before she could answer, Matti added, "Please do. It has been a long time since we have had company of any kind."

"thank you sir, Ardawen out."
carefully he moved his shuttle into the shuttle bay, and shut down the systems.
the doors opened and Ardawen took his things and walked out. He was still wearing his civilian clothes and moved to the nearest turbo lift.
apparently the crew was used to seeing people without uniform on the ship, because no one asked what he was doing here.
Finlay he found a turbo lift, deck to Ardawen spoke. The turbolift began to move, and a few seconds later he stepped out.
Sickbay was not far from the turbo lift and without hesitating ardawen walked in.
A hard working lady looked at him rater irritating

Tiffani attempted to half smile she frowned slightly unsure where to begin as they walked to the Counselors quarters. she sighed a little *I guess i'm just missing my daughter more then i thought i would. and now that me and felix are no longer married i feel even more lost then before. being in the diplomatic Conference brought back all the angry feelings*

She hesitated, she knew she should really get back to the surface, but it had been sometime since she had a proper sit down meal and Miranda seemed eager to please her father. she smiled at the two as she noticed they was still waiting for a response. *Sure, if it won't be any inconvience. I wouldn't want to interrupt any father and daughter time she said giving a wink to Miranda*

Tiberian could sense the Captain's unease, putting it either down to her species, or the genuine absence of anything to talk about. "Who's the Klingon ambassador nowadays" Tiberian asked, freeing the Captain to return to the ambassador. "Governor Kurat" Helena replied, as Tiberian reseated himself, and she took the empty chair next to him. "Kurat" Tiberian mused "Do I know him?" "You should, remember that little incident on Qo'nos when you were sixteen" She replied. "You mean the bar fight. Wait a minute, General Kurat, Commandant of the Klingon Military Academy" Tiberian was shocked. "Former Commandant" came a gruff voice from behind him. Tiberian turned to see a greying, yet burly Klingon before him, adorned in full ceremonial regalia. Tiberian leapt to his feet. "Ambassador Kurat, Marine 1st Lieutenant Tiberian Wong, Starfleet Marine Corps. It is an honour to see you again, sir" The ambassador stared at the Bolian delegate sitting next to Helena, until he stood and scurried away. Smiling to himself, Kurat sat down and took up the Bolian's drink, despite the thick odour of bloodwine he was already giving off. "General, might I introduce Captain Cir'Kem, the Starfleet presence here, and also Ambassador Savin of the Arbazan"

Nothing had changed. Wigram had not been used to a ship which had been so versatile. Very little went wrong, in fact very little seemed to go wrong in any way. He spent most of his time making sure the ship was being improved. Repairs did not need to be done in droves, as the ship was rather like one of those ancient mechano set- one just removes the broken or faulty part and clips in the new replacement. The older ships such as the Miranda were quite complex, and the very modern ships such as the Sovereign were even more complex but the mid range workhorses such as the Nebula classes went on and on and on.
This though good for star fleet presented a problem for a Chief Engineer. Not that any CEO wants to spent their lives upgrading and repairing ships, but it is their main job and when very little goes wrong an active minded fellow becomes restless.
Wigram had been considering transferring. As a Petty Officer he had had duties to perform but as Chief Engineer there was a hard balance between active work and command. The two colided so much that he found he wanted to be a Petty Officer again, doing the repairs himself, getting his hands dirty. But now when he did that- he was seen or at least felt he was seen as meddeling by the very experianced Petty Officers. He knew what it was like to feel as if one was being observed all the time, so he wanted to stop before that actually happened.
He had checked Starfleet for current jobs, he had been offered a training post on the other side of Federation space, but training was not what he wanted. True he was older than most officers, but he wanted to be in the front line, not teach ignorant and headstrong youths.
So he considered changing ships or departments.
The only problem with that would be- How would he break it to the Captain. He had not been around along.

The USS Victory is a fine ship, worthy of her name, right back to the HMS Victory, another old workhorse which is still afloat. The ships is running at peak capacity except for a slight fluctuation in the warp power, slight variation but well within limits. The fluctuation is currently being dealth with by team Beta. As for the mission ....................................

Miranda took her hand and pulled her into the room, "No, I made to much anyway. I hope you like spagetti. It's his favorite, so I made it to make him feel better. He works too much. He doesn't smile much anymore."
Matti said looking shocked, "I do too. I'm just not here when I do it the most. I don't need to smile here because I know that you will always be here when I need a hug. That puts a smile on my face every time I need one. And who are you to judge me little mope monster. I haven't seen you have fun in weeks."
Miranda looked sullen when she replied, "I just miss my mom and dad. Being on a ship reminds me of them so much."
Matti walked over and gave her a big hug. He then noticed that Tiffani was standing behind them with the begining of tears in her eyes. He waved her over to join in the hug. After a short heart felt hug between them, Matti said, "I'm hungry. Lets eat before it gets cold."
After a nice supper and some time to talk over small things, Matti tucked Miranda into bed and kissed her on the forhead.
As he walked the Commander to the door he said, "Good night Commander. Tonight was a good night. Not just for me and Miranda, but for you also. Any time you wish to talk ar just need a hug, you know where we live. I hope you will remember what happened here tonight. Even when your own daughter is away, you can still enjoy the company of friends. It won't take away the hurt, but it will help dull the pain."
When he walked back into his quarters, he could still feel her standing there for some time before she left.

Kaylee was having a very hectic night, and wondered when it was going to end. Things had slowed down considerablly, and she was glad. ~Why did I stay behind? The dinner wouldn't have been this bad, then again...~ Kae thought and found her thoughts were interrupted by someone entering sickbay.
Kae turned very irritated that her time to rest a little was over. Another civilian had entered and stepped forward.
"Alright, come sit on the biobed, tell me of your illness or injury," Kae said trying to get to business not wanting this patient to remain much longer.
(ardawen)
"What do you mean you aren't sick or injured? What are you doing here then?" Kae asked shocked by what was said. ~Wasting my time, I need a break. Maybe I should take some time off. I think I might talk to the captain about this.~ Kae thought.
(ardawen)
Kae heard it, and couldn't believe no one had told her. She realized her boss was standing there waiting for a reply.
"Sorry, sir, won't happen again," Kaylee said hoping he wouldn't report her. "Is there something I can do to help you?"
