OOC (Out Of Character): As most of our Cadet’s seem to have reported in, I am going to start the training mission. All Cadet’s should attempt to respond to this post. I am aware some of you are still simming on the “Standard Blank” thread; you may continue posting there for a few more days, as this mission won’t kick into full gear right away. However, by Monday 12th, you should only be taking part in this simming thread. Only posts made on the Hanson will be counted in your total, and have a bearing in your graduation. Any questions, please contact myself, Commander Hope, or Commander Brelev.
In the interests of you being able to quickly pick out the important parts of my post, I have marked them in orange. If you don't want to, you don't need to read the bits in teal, they are more about Drew's character, although of course, if any of you want to know more about him, read away lol
ON (In Simming Mode)
Drew stepped out of the Academy Commandants Office on Starbase Conqueror, and found himself standing almost in the centre of the busy Operations area. Every station was manned, and there seemed to be officers everywhere, passing padds and calling out reports to each other. Drew smiled; he sometimes forgot that Conqueror was a real Starbase, and not just a training one.
“Off so soon Admiral?” Commander Joan McCormick asked, looking up from her own station.
“Yep, Hanson is all ready,” Drew said, walking down to talk to her, “I have the details for all the Cadets, right here in my padd.”
“I’ll start clearing you for launch then Admiral,” Joan replied, “have a good trip.”
“Thanks,” Drew called behind him, as he headed for the turbolift, “I’ll see you in a month.”
Instructing the turbolift to take him to the docking bay, Drew stood towards the rear of the car, and reviewed once again the details on his padd. This time the Hanson would be taking a higher number of Cadets than usual, but background reports suggested some of these Cadets were the most gifted the Academy had, Drew was sure the Hanson Instructors would be able to cope.
Unexpectedly, the turbolift came to a halt, the readout display telling Drew he was on one of the habitation levels. The turbolift doors opened, and in walked a very red faced Cadet that Drew recognised, Paul Cain. The young man was carrying a large bag over his shoulder, and appeared out of breath, he had clearly been rushing to get ready.
“Good morning Cadet,” Drew said greeting him, “in a hurry for something?”
“Sir,” Cain replied in greeting, “sorry sir, I just thought I was running late for the Hanson’s launch.”
Drew smiled, and suppressed a chuckle, “don’t worry Cadet, if I am not aboard yet, you have nothing to worry about.”
“I guess not,” Cain replied, becoming markedly calmer.
“Just don’t make a habit of being late,” Drew said, this time not trying to hide his amusement as he walked out of the turbolift, leaving Cadet Cain to pick up his bag and follow him.
Reaching the Hanson’s port, Drew wasn’t surprised to find that First Officer, S’reena Hope was already standing at the hatch, a padd and pen in her hand. She was currently busy checking the details of a young female Cadet coming aboard the Hanson.
“Boissey, Charlotte,” S’reena was saying, as she looked down her padd, “ah yes, one of our science cadets, if you follow Ensign Cornwell, he will show you to your quarters.”
“Thank you ma’am,” Charlotte Boissey replied, following the Commander’s advice and walking over to the waiting Ensign Cornwell.
“Good day Commander,” Drew said, as he and Cadet Cain approached, “how are things?”
“Admiral,” S’reena said greeting her CO, “almost all the Cadets are aboard and accounted for, as are most of the crew.”
“Excellent, have everyone assemble in the holodeck for debriefing, usual time.”
“Aye Admiral,” S’reena replied, as she began looking down her list to check of Cadet Cain.
“I’ll leave you in the Commander’s capable hands Cadet,” Drew said to him, “and I’ll see you at the debriefing later.”
Leaving S’reena to assign Cain his quarters, Drew walked onto the Hanson. The corridor was full with Cadets and Officers, all going about there business. Most of the Cadet’s were looking around the ship with a look of awe on their faces, some looked excited, while others just looked plain scared.
Drew smiled at them all as he walked past, on his way to his quarters, he would eventually go to the bridge, but for now there was nothing that required his attention there.
Thankfully, the deck his own quarters were on was much less busy than the lower decks, only the VIP quarters were on this deck, which usually meant Drew had the entire deck to himself.
Walking into his rather spacious living quarters, he wasn’t surprised to see his wife busy unpacking her bags. For the last nine months, she had been on Starbase Assailant, Drew’s previous posting, but now she had transferred to the Hanson.
“Everything going ok?” Drew asked, laughing as Joanna struggled to reach a high shelf she was attempting to put family photos on.
“You dare laugh,” Joanna Drew warned, “it isn’t funny.” “Of course not,” Drew replied, helping his wife put up the remaining photos, “I am surprised you were able to get though the crowds with all this lot.”
“S’reena gave me a security escort,” Joanna answered, a smile on her face, “being an Admiral’s wife does have some advantages you know.”
“I am sure it does,” Drew laughed, as he looked round his quarters, a few days before they had been neat and tidy, but not anymore, ah well, the bachelors lifestyle had been good while it lasted.
“Right, I better get down to the holodeck,” Drew said, picking back up his padd containing the Cadet information, “need to make sure these Cadet’s know what to do.”
“Have fun,” Joanna called out, as Drew left the quarters.
Drew wasn’t surprised when he walked into the holodeck, to find it already full with the Cadets and Instructors. On S’reena’s order, all of them instantly stood smartly to attention, as Drew walked down the line towards the front.
“Welcome to the Hanson,” Drew said loudly, “and please, all of you at ease.”
With everyone now more relaxed, Drew started his speech, giving a brief rundown of the Hanson’s systems, introducing the instructors, explaining what was going to happen, and finally giving out a timetable of events.
“As you can all see, your Instructor’s will be giving you all a guided tour around the ship before we depart, that usually takes about an hour, after that you will have a thirty minute break in the mess hall, and then you will all report to your posts. Any questions?”
As usual, there were none. Not many people would speak out in front of a crowd like this, at least not on their first day of duty as a Starfleet Officer.
“In that case, you are all dismissed,” Drew said, “tours will begin in fifteen minutes.”
OOC:
Right, sorry for the long post, my bad lol
In your first posts, you should meet some of your fellow Cadets, explore the ship a bit, find your quarters and so on. You could also post your thoughts on what Drew has said, and meeting your instructors, most of the instructors will post in the next day or so, and I am sure we will all quickly become friends. If you do have any questions, then please do feel free to contact me, my email box is always open.

Cursing himself for managing to be late yet again, Kalen stepped into the holodeck as subtly as he could. This however was not the easiest of tasks as stood directly in front of the door with everyone staring at him was Vice Admiral Drew. On the plus side of course, this would hopefully mean that Drew wouldn’t spot him. As soon as the door has closed he could hear Drew’s words: “In that case, you are all dismissed,” Drew said, “tours will begin in fifteen minutes.” The betazoid muttered another curse to himself and watched in faint horror as his new commanding officer turned around to leave.
“Ah, Commander Kalen, so good of you to join us.” “I thought so.” The doctor replied, a sideways grin on his face. “I thought that it would be nice for the science cadets to have someone to instruct them. Unfortunately, the nice people on SB Conqueror thought this morning was a good time to point out that I hadn’t completed a urrr… Pro Edification License, which is apparently a requirement of these cruises nowadays. So I had to take a couple of hours to sort that out, but now you have me all for yourselves!” He broadened his grin as he finished, hoping that his positive attitude would pass onto Drew. The Admiral rolled his eyes, his expression saying ‘always some excuse’ while his lips said; “You’re here now, that’s the main thing, and I’m sure this won’t become a habit?” “Oh no, don’t worry I don’t plan on doing the License many more times. Although…” “Your cadet is over there.” He cut Kalen off and gestured across the room. “I trust you know your way around?” “Bridge is at the top, science is around the middle and not much is at the bottom. I’ll just go find my victim.”
He left the admiral and wandered across the holodeck towards the cadet Drew had pointed out. He recalled what he had read about the cadet; Paul Cain, human, had multiple degrees in biology and astro-thermometry, slightly taller than Kalen, but a much leaner build. In the time his mind ran over these, and a number of other facts that he remembered, he had reached the young human.
“Ah, Mr Cain, I do remember meeting you on Conqueror.” “Yes sir.” “I prefer Doctor, or simply Kalen. I’m sure I mentioned that already. Ah, never mind, you have a lot to take in I’m sure. Anyway, shall we go and get lost on this ship? I’ve never been on an intrepid myself, so it could be fun.”

Paul was glad that Dr Kalen had broken the ice so to speak. He smiled at the thought of the Doctor being so unofficial. It was nice to have to not worry with the sir stuff and just be friendly. This bought more respect from himself to Kalen.
The silence had gone on for quite a while now and Paul Thought it was a good idea to say somthing now.
"Errr Yes sir that sounds like a good idea, I'm not good with crowds" Paul replied nerviously smiling.
They Walked out of the holodeck and Dr Kalen began to give a run down on what he assumed the different areas were.
"I assume we will be a couple of decks below Cadet, But don't get comfortable as our work is not just needed in the lab" Kalen stated.
"Ofcourse sir, err Kalen"
Kalen shot Cain a playful angry look.
"Look as i said if you must be fromal doctor will do." Kalen said sighing.
Paul realised that if he was to be working with this guy he would have to loosen up quite a lot. They reached Cadet Cains Quaters and Kalen stopped. Paul realised this must be his quaters but he hadn't really spoken to any of his fellow cadets since arriving on board.
The Admiral had been friendy and very informal but somhow he realised he might not get away with the same. He may be aloud to call Kalen By Kalen but Calling the Admiral Paul Or Drew might get him hung.
"Sir, err sorry i mean doctor" Paul stuttered "Can we meet in a little while for a drink and get to know the ship and each other a bit better?"
Kalen looked at the Cadet with a sympathetic look. Paul Knew he could sense his lonliness.
<Kalen>

“Sure, a drink is always welcome.” He replied, glancing down at his stomach as if to imply that it was feeling a bit empty and needed refilling. “How about 20 hundred hours in the mess hall. If you see any other cadets be sure to tell them they are more than welcome to. I might see if any of the other instructors want to come out too.” He smiled to try and put Cain at ease, and then wandered back through the ship towards the science labs. He didn’t have anything in particular to do, but with the tour having being wrapped up quite quickly he knew there were a few projects that he could work on. As he stepped into the large room that was poetically named ‘Laboratory One’ he smiled as he saw Cadet Boissey with the engineering instructor, Commander Smith on the other side of the room. He nodded a welcome, but left them much to their own business; he didn’t want to impose himself on everyone. Well, maybe he did, but it wouldn’t be entirely professional. As he worked, his mind wandered slightly as it always did when he was so deeply concentrated. That always intrigued him, how complete concentration would allow his mind to wander, but as usual he dismissed that thought and focussed slightly on Cain, analysing him as if he were a specimen in this lab. Maybe that was a bit of a harsh method, but given the current situation, it was the easiest. The cadet was, as was to be expected, nervous on his assignment, the years in the academy back on earth couldn’t fully prepare people for their first ship based assignment, but that was, after all the point of the Hanson. He certainly seemed eager, and from his results, he was a top notch scientist. He just needed to relax more; maybe a session in the lab tomorrow would help that. He would have to suggest it over the drinks and see – some of these science officers were hands on people, and others merely liked to look at computer readouts; he’d have to find out which summed up Cain better. OOC: A really really good first post Paul, a few tiny pointers… * You capitalise some words that don’t need it: ‘Kalen By Kalen but Calling the Admiral Paul Or Drew’ Try and make sure to only capitalise names, ranks and the first word in the sentence . * In fact, when I said a few, that’s all there is. As I said, really good! * Oh, and you weren’t first, I was, and I’m meant to be revising for my exam tomorrow!!

Max entered holodeck. He was not the first time that entered one, but that day was very nervous. He felt fear of not being able perform one's duty and he did not want to fail the first day. A little later, behind him entered admiral Drew, smiling. He walked forwards and he said some words. "...any questions?" Yes, he had many questions, but he thought that it was not the moment, but it would be amused if he discovered his answers. "In that case, you are all dismissed," Drew said, "tours will begin in fifteen minutes". As soon as the admiral spoke, he tried to look for his instructor. He only knew that he was commander. He approached one of the officials and asked: "Commander Reynolds?" he said with low voice, but the commander did not listen, he repeated more strong "Commander Reynolds?" The commander turned and he watched it with a smile, as if he was waiting for it. "Yes cadet, what you wishes?" and Max said with nervous voice "Cadet Max Richards, Commander, sir" <Reynolds> OOC: This he is my first post. I hope that it pleases to them.

OOC: Good post Cadet Richards, the only thing I would suggest is that in some places you use "he" instead of "it". Example: A little later, behind him entered admiral Drew, smiling. He walked forwards and he said some words. "...any questions?" That will help make your posts easier to read, apart from that I thought your post was very good. Well done

They were finally about to depart. Charlotte made her way again to the Hanson, her bag on her shoulder. The Intrepid-class ship will be her home for the month ahead. Living on a ship was something she had yet to discover and that was an experience she didn’t want to miss.
Commander Hope was posted at the docking hatch, greeting the cadets coming aboard.
“Boissey, Charlotte,” S’reena was saying, as she looked down her padd, “ah yes, one of our science cadets, if you follow Ensign Cornwell, he will show you to your quarters.”
“Thank you madam.”
A young man showed her the way to the cadets quarters zone. There were plenty of cadets chatting and wondering around.
“When do we leave the base ?” she asked before Ensign Cornwell was called to his duty. “In a few hours I think. The admiral uses to greet the cadets and make a speech before starting the serious things. You’ll have time to settle down.” “Alright, thanks”
She was on her own again. The bag slipped to the ground as she observed her new quarters. The two rooms looked very comfortable. She made a first tour, inspecting everything that was at her disposition then headed back to her luggage. The only thing she could do without knowing when the briefing would start was to unpack.
Various personal items were lying on the bed, the bag empty from clothes when she was told by the intercom that she had to attend to the holodeck in fifteen minutes. She already knew where the holodeck was. After a last check on her appearance she went out and headed to the briefing.
In the holodeck she found her fellows but the general agitation was cut by the admiral Drew. Charlotte took her place in the ranks and stood to attention. The admiral’s speech was clear and straight to the point. Charlotte was just a little surprised by her instructor assignment. Sudden worries came to her, she hoped her basis training in engineering would be enough.
They where dismissed for the time of the tour. Each cadet was trying to approach his instructor. She could see Paul already talking to Dr Kalen. She spotted Lieutenant Smith and came nearer to him. She waited the appropriate time to draw his attention.
“Lieutenant Smith, cadet fourth class Charlotte Boissey, Sir.”
Her heartbeat was running a bit faster than usual. She tried to relax before doing or saying something stupid.
“I wish I will learn from your knowledge Sir, I could use more in engineering.”

S'reena merely smiled at Cain as he passed her when she assigned a crewman to direct him to his quarters. He was coming quite a away since she'd met him at the graduation of their previous batch of cadets.
Now that all cadets were aboard, she headed towards the holodeck to set up everything for their usual briefing, then moved to the side to listen in silence to Drew's speech. She frowned in disapproval as the science instructor arrived just as Drew finished his speech and she made no effort to hide her disapproval when she passed him on her way out.
Yet, she had better things to do than to stop and talk to the instructor, he'd come to introduce himself eventually anyway. From what she knew of him, he was a betazoid and thus prone to sense what other people were feeling, if not merely reading their thoughts. S'reena didn't like Betazoids in general, though there were of course always exceptions.
The Romulan first officer headed for the bridge after making a small detour past the daycare centre, to see if her three infant children were still all right. Jeisen had been rather fussy lately, and S'reena made up her mind to take him to sickbay. Giving her other four children a hug, she picked up the baby boy and cradled him.
"Doctor, do you have a minute?" S'reena called, then saw she was busy with her cadet. Would she trust a mere cadet with the health of her baby? S'reena decided she should, after all the training mission was a final before graduation and she had to believe this young man was a competent doctor-in-training. "Jeisen's been fussy and I can't determine what's wrong with him. I know Michael's the paediatrician, but being the boy's father I don't think he should be the one examining him."
<Brelev and Henchard.....feel free to come up with something...just ah...don't make it lethal eh?>
"My thanks," S'reena answered, worry crossing her face, "I'll come pick him up later, I have to return to the bridge."
Somewhat later, S'reena arrived at the bridge, pleased to see the instructors taking the time to have their cadets learn the quirks and works of their consoles. Still wearing her worried frown, S'reena stepped down to the command centre of the bridge and sat down beside Drew. "They seem competent," she whispered at him, "let's hope they'll keep our baby intact."

Paul stowed his gear and decided to relax on his bunk for a while. The briefing had only taken forty minutes and Paul decided to take a break before the drink he had arranged with Kalen. He stared at the ceiling and thought about catching a few zees but he knew if he did that he would be late for reporting for duty. Never mind late for the drinks.
Paul sat up and placed his legs over the edge onto the floor. He rubbed his eye’s, the excitement had gotten to him. The anxiety built up until it’s only release was tiredness. But he had too report for duty in fifty minutes.
He stood up and walked over to his replicater.
“Coffee please” Paul said
“Please specify” The replicator blurted.
“”What type is there?” Paul asked a bit frustrated. All he wanted was a coffee.
“Earth categories; Roast, dry roast, kenco, Columbian…….”
Paul realised this could go on forever. So he thought why not go early for that drink.
“Computer. Locate Dr Kalen please” Paul said tapping his comm badge.
“Dr Kalen is in Laboratory one.”
“Thank you computer” Paul said.
He walked out of his quarters and headed towards lab one, the tour hadn’t covered as many places as Kalen had expected but he had been tired. He stepped into the turbo lift and requested deck one.
The turbo lift arrived slightly after he had stepped in. Then again thats why it is called a turbo lift Paul Thought and smiled at the thought. The doors opened and he stepped out and began walking to lab one.
He arrived at the door and stopped to take a breath. He exhaled as he walked through the doors.
He saw Kalen focusing on some work. He had obviously wanted to start early.
“Do you need any help before we have a drink?” Paul asked.
Slightly startled Kalen turned and saw Paul half smiling and half shrugging.

OOC admiral, cadet Richards is using a translator, so not everything will come out the way he wants it to, sicne his language is obviously a bit different than ours, so just thougt i would let you know.
IC
Daya had spent a few minute trying to locate his cadet, Cadet Taylor, and had just spotted him. "Cadet Taylor, I am commander Daya, welcome aboard the ship, anything you want to know, or should we just get to chase and get the heck outa here?"
(Daya's quite a guy, hes got alot of humor, and strange ways or letting it out)
<tag Taylor>
"Very well cadet, lets get to business" Daya said as he lead the cadet out of the holodeck, towards their first spot of the tour.
~~one hour later~~
"ok cadet, here is he mess hall, lets eat, i'm hungry"After they had gotten their food, Daya sat across from the cadet, and looked at him. "So tell me about yourself cadet"

Jason was torn between what he should be feeling. He was happy to be going out on mission again. It was the best feeling ever, but he also wanted to spend more time with Angel. The only thing that cheered him up was the fact that she would be here when he returned and that he had a cadet this training mission. All he knew was that his name was Max Richards.
So with these thoughts Jason reported back to the Hanson and his post. Though for the first or maybe he just didn't pay attention, S'reena was waiting at the air lock talking to incoming cadets.
"Commander Hope, I'm glad that Admiral Drew didn't retaliate for your stunt a couple days ago," Jason said with the biggest smile on his face.
Tag S'reena
It was always enjoyable to talk to the Romulan First officer. Things were a bit strained between the Romulans and the Federation at the moment, but Jason had complete trust in S'reena. She has served the Federation honorably and she has saved many lives during her career, one of them being his brother.
"Welcome back, Commander," Lt. Borrow, his neighbor said," it's going to be very busy this go around."
"Thanks Nick, and yeah its going to be really busy," Jason said as he walked into his room and unpacked.
<At the Holodeck>
OOC: Max, si quieres yo te puedo ayudar con los post. Pero todavia como el Almirante dijo lo estas ciendo muy bien ;D
IC:
Jason was enjoying some good conversation with Lt. Shinsei, when he was interrupted by someone calling for his name.
"Commander Reynolds?" Max said with low voice, but the commander did not listen to him. So he repeated more strongly,"Commander Reynolds?"
The commander turned and he smiled at the cadet, as if he was waiting for him.
"Yes cadet, what do you wish?" Commander Reynolds responded. Max said with nervous voice "Cadet Max Richards, Commander, sir."
"Max Richards...Max...oh yes, your the operations cadet," Jason said his smile now from ear to ear," it is very nice to meet you Mr. Richards."

OOC Sorry doc i jump ahead a bit.
Paul and Kalen had been sat down for ten minutes after getting their beverages from the repicaters. Kalen looked into his cup and then at Cadet Cain.
“So are you a modern man of science?” Kalen asked inquisitively
“Well sir, Err I mean doctor, I like using test tubes as a back up you can’t always trust computers you know. One day they work fine the next they don’t, then there is the possibility that it might give inaccurate readings. Then…………..” Paul realised he had rambled too much and looked down embarrassed.
“That’s good to hear Cadet” Kalen replied to which Paul raised his head with a slight smile.
“Well sir I just believe in making sure everything is correct, I would rather spend an extra ten minutes double checking than another hour doing it again.” Paul said face serious .
“That’s the kind of attitude to have in this business Cadet. I’m looking forword to working with you knowing that I can trust your ability to double check the results. And of course ask me when a second opinion is needed.” Kalen added with a sly wink.
“Yes Kalen I mean doctor” Paul manged to stutter.
“Just Kalen lad” Kalen reassured
“Ok Kalen” Paul smiled “and of course I will never do anything by myself if I’m not sure. At least until I graduate.”
Paul and kalen sat taking sips from their beverages. Occasionally they would make small talk about different subjects. Then Kalen stopped looking at the time.
“Tell me Cadet have you ever been to the bridge.” Kalen asked
“Once for this years graduates Kalen” Paul replied
“Well how about when you are on duty?” Kalen smiled and place his cup down.
Paul followed Kalen to the turbo lift where they took it to deck one.
"No sir not on duty" Paul replied.
"Well i'd like to introduce you to it" Kalen smiled "I don't think we got chance to cover it in our tour."
The turbo lift arrived at deck one and Paul and Kalen exited. Paul felt a sense of anxiety at actually serving on a federation vessel. They arrived at the bridge and there was a few officers tending to various duties. Kalen took Paul to Admiral Drew and Paul immediately stood to attention.
“At ease Cadet, Dr Kalen, What can I do for you two gentlemen?” The Admiral asked
“Sir, Just reporting for duty and orders sir” Paul realised he sounded too enthusiastic.
<Drew>
OOC Hi I hope you don’t mind Kalen I wrote a bit for you as your exams must take up some of your time. And good luck with them. Also any advice is welcome if im going to fast in character progression terms or spelling. And would like to thank Kalen for help already given. Much appreciated Buddy. Also just Added somthing as my computer didn't paste it properly and i just noticed.

IC: "Thanks, sir, its an honor to be under your instruction," Max said with still a nervous voice, "I am anxious about the training mission." "No need to be cadet, we are here to help you" said the commander "I will issue your first order to you. Go to your quarter, unpacks your things and when you finish we will begin with the tour" "Yes sir," Max said, as he retired from the holodeck. He returned towards the docking hatch, walked only a few steps , found a commander with a PADD and several cadets. She was giving names, and assigning there quarters. After asking for his quarter, he walked by the corridors. He saw several cadets with knapsacks and bags, with great amount of luggage. He had only taken a suitcase with his more important things, some books, photos of his father and some clothes. When arriving at his quarter, in there was a plate with a number and his name, he opened it delicately and unpacked some things. When returning to holodeck, Commander Reynolds was speaking with some other officers, he stopped, and he approached to speak. "Lets begin the tour?" Tag Reynolds OOC: Post about the tour... Post by brelev on Jun 9, 2006 14:32:52 GMT
(O.O.C why does the Mission always start when I am on an 8 hr shift??) Brelev had never really left the ship during the lay over period. She was still relatively new at her post and had a great deal to do in regards to paperwork, getting to know her team and other minor details. In fact she had been so wrapped up in her own little word that she had forgotten to check the cadet assignments, simply assuming that as usual she would find herself somewhat bored during the mission. It was not untill Michael Hope, Commander Hope's husband, and the ships pediatrician commented on how nice it would be to have a cadet in sickbay did Brelev realize she would be teaching after all. So instead of grudgingly making her way t the holodeck for a briefing, she headed off eager to meet her prodigy. It turned out that this was not so easy. Not only was there a large population of cadets, but most of them seemed to be wearing the blue collar of her position. Granted, she had heard there where a few Science cadets, but might she have more then one cadet? She looked down at the PaDD in her hand and read her cadet's name Henchard, Michael (Medical) Sounded human, but sometimes it was hard to tell. Also sounded male. She looked around and spotted a prospect, but before she could introduce herself Admiral Drew began his announcements. Once dismissed Brelev made a B-line for the young man. "Welcome to the Hanson, I am Doctor Brelev the ship's CMO. I don't suppose you could be Cadet Henchard?" <Tag Henchard> Before Brelev could reply Commander Hope approached her holding a fussy looking child "Doctor, do you have a minute?Jeisen's been fussy and I can't determine what's wrong with him. I know Michael's the paediatrician, but being the boy's father I don't think he should be the one examining him.""Of course." Brelev replied. "Cadet, Commander, let's take this to sickbay." she led the way and settled next to S'reena. "With your permission I would like to have my cadet examine the child. It's important that he feels I trust him, and also important that I see how he handles delicate patients. I will of course be there the entire time, and I expect you will be as well." "I trust your cadet to be competent in his task," S'reena replied, though not altogether comfortable with the notion of a final-year cadet examining her infant son, "so he may proceed."
(ooc: I changed a little bit in your post Ms Brelev...you welcomed him to the Nevada, while we really are on the Hanson )(o.o.c old habits die hard Commander, thank you for the correction, Brelev)"Here we are." Brelev announced, stepping through the door. "Place Jelsen on Biobed 1, where you going to stay?" "No thanks, I'm needed on the bridge." S'reena replied, and headed out the door. "Oh, alright. Michael, could you come here?" Brelev called out, she wanted one of the child's parents to be there at least. Michael arrived and immediately gave his son a pat on the head and fatherly hug. "he's feeling fussy, Cadet would you give the child a quick examination and see if you can discover the source of the problems. I'm here for questions if you have any." <Tag Henchard>

Alexia had only be aboard for a few hours and already they were getting off to a good start.. As they had there introduction on the holo deck she could sense a general feeling of excitment from the other cadets, and from the other officers there emotions were very mixed. After the meeting was over she noticed that Lt. Commander Daya had already left with a cadet ,and so she decided to hurry to catch up... While she was in the Academy to become a Ambassador she was also taking up training in the tactical field as well... She had learned as much about the Hanson as possible before leaving inorder to make sure she could easily find her way around... After alittle walking she decided it best to just ask the computer for help to find Daya.
" Computer locate Lt. Commander Daya..."
* Lt. Commander Day is currently located in the mess hall*
Alexia at once made her way to the mess hall were she found Daya and his cadet sitting at a table.. She appoarched them both to make her introductions as to make sure she made a good first impression.
" Lt. Commander Daya I am Cadet 4th class Alexia Katan... I will be training in both in the Ambassdor field and also in the tactical field on this mission... I am sorry I missed you in the holo deck, but it was quite full and my shuttle did not arrive until late."

Cadet Henchard waved the medical tricorder over the colicky child, so as to ascertain what the baby's ailment could be. Initial scans came up blank.
"Commander Brelev, initial scans did not reveal anything," reported Henchard to his superior officer.
Brelev glanced over at the eager cadet. "So, Cadet Henchard, what would you suggest?"
Henchard glanced at the child for a moment, and then he looked back to the commander, ready to answer. "In this case, I think the best solution would be to expand the parameters on my tricorder. The problem doesn't seem to serious, but the tricorder hasn't picked up anything unusual."
"Well, then, cadet, go right ahead. And just so you know, Henchard, you don't have to ask permission for every little thing! You wouldn't be onboard if you weren't a competent young officer, so I think that you're perfectly capable of recalibrating a tricorder by yourself!"
"Aye, sir," came Henchard's reply. He wasn't sure if the commander's comments were a good or bad thing. After all, the scolding he received came in the form of a compliment. Putting the matter aside, the cadet recalibrated the tricorder to scan for low-level irritations.
"Aha!" Henchard was barely able to contain his enthusiasm. "I found the problem!"
"Alright, cadet, what do you have?" Commander Brelev inquired.
"Well, sir, this child's problem... How can I say this... He's 'allergic' to SPACE."
"How can you say that? This child has been exposed to space travel his entire life. Why would he start developing these issues now?"
Henchard thought for a moment and reached a conclusion. "The differences between space travel and planet life are very subtle, but they still exist. The slight imbalances in gravity, the filtered, cycled air... We've all become accustomed to this sort of living. This child, on the other hand, has just reached the point where he can sense that something is wrong. It's for that reason that he is acting strangely."
"Hmm. Interesting hypothesis, cadet. Now, what would you suggest we do?" asked the commander.
"Although rare, this phenomenon is not altogether undocumented. Previous cases show that the symptoms pass within days. My tricorder readings prove that no outside influence is causing the child's behavior, further demonstrating that this particular illness is not serious. I'd recommend giving the child a nice, relaxing atmosphere, but other than that, there's nothing that we can really do about this."

“I wish I will learn from your knowledge Sir, I could use more in engineering.”
"If you're stroking my ego, stop. If you're sincere, which you probalby are, follow me. there's the tour to take care of." Max motioned twoards the door.
"right. You're a science cadet, correct?"
<Charlotte>
"right, well, that's where we'll start. I'm a jack of all trads, so to speak. so let's start with the labs."
They walked over to the tubolift, which took them to the astromentrics lab.
"this isn't on every Intrepid class vessel. Starfleet is still working on phasing them in through refits. I think there are only one or two that don't have them at this point. pretty stnadard layout, of course each ship's is slightly different."
<Charlotte>
Down the hall where the Exobioloigy and Biology labs.
"these you should be familiar with, so we won't spend time in those. And down the hall is the astrometrics lab, which will be yours to work in."

Charlotte restrained a smile when she heard Commander Smith’s answer, she couldn’t say if he was serious or not. She followed his track as he was heading to the holodeck door.
“Yes I am sir. More precisely I was an exobiologist back on Earth.”
"right, well, that's where we'll start. I'm a jack of all trads, so to speak. so let's start with the labs."
They made their way to the labs. Commander Smith was a pragmatic man as much as Charlotte could judge. Absentmindedly she took a mental note of this fact. She will work under his orders for the month ahead so the quicker she adapted herself to his ways the better. She had work with a sensible number of science directors so she was used to this process.
"this isn't on every Intrepid class vessel. Starfleet is still working on phasing them in through refits. I think there are only one or two that don't have them at this point. pretty standard layout, of course each ship's is slightly different."
Charlotte nodded, quite impressed.
“It’s your turn to flatter my interest sir.”
They went on to the biology labs. Charlotte’s interest was increasing.
“"these you should be familiar with, so we won't spend time in those. And down the hall is the astrometrics lab, which will be yours to work in." »
“As I’m under your command I suppose I’ll have to spend more time down to engineering than actually here.”
<Max>
They left the labs and were back to the turbolift which opened this time on the main engineering. The intermix chamber was pulsing, the engineering staff running the usual checks before the departure. Charlotte had known engineering only through the common lessons and holodeck simulations of Starfleet academy. Still she couldn’t feel any difference between the simulation and this real scene.
“What role would be mine as a scientist in here Commander ?”
<Max>
“Understood.”
She acknowledged the station which would be her for the next weeks.
“I shall find this quite exotic.” She added with a light smile.
Commander Smith showed to her a few strategic places he thought important for her to know then they reached the mess hall.
“Thanks for the tour Commander. I know a chief engineer is quite busy before a departure, thanks for your trouble.”

"Sounds like a prescription for the holodeck. Doctor Hope, since we seem to have a very capable cadet here I'd like to give you a break until further notice to care for your son. Take him and your other children to the holodeck, run some nice scenarios and let them relax." Br elev recommended. She was impressed by cadet Henchard's diagnosis, the condition was rare and took a careful eye to detect.
"Are you certain doctor, I have enough to keep me busy here?" Michael asked, picking up the boy.
"Absolutely certain. You've been working very hard for the past few weeks, too hard and I happen to know that you have not had much time with your kids. Although I have never been, nor ever will be a mother, I am certain that your time is best spent with them." Brelev insisted. 'If I need you, I'll call."
Michael consented and left for the holodeck. 'I guess this means I won't have to give you a pop quiz, you already had one and have passed with flying colours." Brelev gave her cadet an encouraging smile. "Instead I'll give you a quick tour. I'm assuming you are familiar with the instruments and equipment so it will probably be best if I show our sickbay and the other medical facilities and introduce you the the team. You've already met Michael, he's the ships pediatrician. We have more then the average amount of children on board, most of whom seem to belong to the Hopes. There are also several enlisted Nurses a medical technician, Janice Nicely all of whom you should come across later and of course, the EMH. Computer activate the EMH."
"Please state the nature of the medical emergency." The EMH recited as he materialized.
"This is Cadet Henchard, he is training as a CMO under myself. I just thought I would introduce you to avoid any confusion if he activates you." Brelev replied. "Doctor Hope is being given some leave, since he is absent I'm going to leave you activated."
The EMH nodded, and headed off to find something to do. "Right then, any questions yet?" Brelev asked realizing she had already pummeled her cadet with information and they had not really even begun the tour.

I am sorry I missed you in the holo deck, but it was quite full and my shuttle did not arrive until late." Daya looked up from his table, and away from the cadet to see yet another cadet for him to train.
"Ah yes well, thigns happen, no need to apologize, just glad you found me already." Daya introduced the two cadets, and then had Alexia sit down, so they may continue their talk. "Cadet Alexia, do you happen to have a last name? or are you just like me and have only one name? Either way, tell me about yourself."

Jason was very pleased to see his cadet again. He looked flushed with anxiety, but Jason knew that would pass.
"If you would excuse me," Jason said looking back at his friends," now Mr. Richards will you please follow me."
Jason noticed that he was one of the last instructor's to leave, but that didn't matter. He would make sure to give Max a very detailed tour of the ship and the operations department.
"Mr. Richards as you know the Hanson is an Intrepid Class vessel," Jason said," it's size allows it to be versitle from scientific to defensive missions. The Hanson has proven this many times over."
As Jason and Max toured along, Jason was surprised by the very few questions that his cadet asked. Jason just attributed it to nerves and new that soon enough he would be at ease. When they entered the turbolift, Jason ordered the computer towards the operation department in the lower decks.
"Mr. Richards, when your not working on the bridge, this will be your station," Jason explained," you will not be here very often, but I just wanted to show you where it was."
It took thirty more minutes to tour the rest of the ship and then it was time to report to the bridge and where his cadet would be training.

Alexia was pleased that her instructor was rather well mannered and she could sense that he really truely was interested in his cadets...
" My last name is Katan... I usually do not use my last name, mainly out of habit... I am of the house Katan on Betazed which has recently become one of the major houses... To keep things alittle short I recently graduated from the Advanced School of Telepathy, and with the highest rank... It was a great honor to be chosen to go to Starfleet to serve in my peoples name... Few Betazoids with high levels of telepathy ever leave the planet, mainly because they are needed in the intel department..."
Alexia stopped to think about what she was saying... She knew right then that she looked like a fool who was bragging and also most likely scaring them with the telepathic ablitlies.... She had learned early on that many feared such powers, and did not like being around someone who could read there minds... It had been her greatest fear, but here she would have to get past such things and move forward....
" I am as you already know a very gifted telepath and for some that is very scary... I have meet few people who truely did not feel uncomfortable around me, and it has been hard leaving my planet... Look at me though babbling on about myself and not even the most interesting parts of me.. As for the rest I have joined starfleet to become a Ambassdor of peace, and the rest is history... "

Methos stood in the back of the Holodeck, seeing as how he didn't have a cadet to train this mission. He watched as the other instructors and their cadets got the formalities over with and left the holodeck. After most everyone had left, he exited the holodeck himself.
He went to the Marine deck and performed an in-ranks inspection of the 18 Marines in his command. Afterward, he sat in his office reviewing the latest performance reports of his Marines. He noticed that Cpl. Johnson and Sgt. Taylor had increased performance by nearly twice their previous scores. He decided to call them in and congratulate them personally. When they arrived, he was looking out the window. He turned around and motioned for them to sit.
"I want to congratulate you both on increasing your PT and Weapons' qualification scores over last month. I hope you keep it up. You both have today off. Dismissed," He said, before they got up and left.
It was getting close to the time of day where most everyone would be in the mess hall. He left his office and made his way there. He nodded to various crewmembers on the way. As he was exiting the turbolift, he noticed a cadet looking confused and lost.
"Is there a problem cadet?" Methos asked.
<Any cadet who is not with their instructor at the moment.>

"Computer Deck 1, Bridge"
Those words seemed to him well-known. Then turbolift began to work, Max could feel as he ascended. His heart began to accelerate . The doors of turbolift were opened and he felt like a tickle in the chest, they had arrived at bridge.
"This it will be your place of training, you will be here most of your time" said the commander, at the same time that he observed several officials walking with his PADDs and making the control before the takeoff.
Max felt pride and joy at the same time, tried to be contained but a great smile was drawn in his face. He was excited, that quiet he began to walk by bridge, observing, trying to contain his joy, but that was impossible.
The bridge was a great room that separated in two parts, in the up side located science, engineering, ops and conn stations, and some others that he did not recognize. In the down side was the chairs of the First Officer and the Commanding Officer. There was nobody in those positions but he knew that soon admiral Drew would be there giving him you order.
Max became towards the commander with a smile and he did not know that to say. Finally he said:
"Commander, this are impressive, I want to begin the training now"

OOC: Sorry for late posts , very busy at work. I will post more often now tho.
ON
"Cadet Taylor, I am commander Daya, welcome aboard the ship, anything you want to know, or should we just get to chase and get the heck outa here?" "No Sir , just happy to be abored."
Taylor honestly wasnt sure about how to take the way his instructor was talking , He wasnt how one would expect a starfleet instructor to behave at all , but i guess a slightly relaxed attitude would work in Damon's favour.
After a brief tour , Daya took His new cadet to the mess hall to get there meal . It wasnt long before another cadet came over to them to report in late. Daya didnt even react , this guy was relaxed! He just introduced the two cadets to each other and then asked the new girl , Alexia , a little about herself.
"I am as you already know a very gifted telepath and for some that is very scary..."
An instant shiver went down Taylors spine which he was sure she would notice. He had never known a telepath before but had wondered if you ever really could fully trust them , do they even have a concept of trust if they read the answears to every question directly from a persons mind?
She shot a glance his way.She had heard his thoughts it seemed.
... I have meet few people who truely did not feel uncomfortable around me, and it has been hard leaving my planet...
He looked the other way and just waited for her to finish, then looked up at DAYA to see how he would reply.
