"However cadet Nack will not be able to perform this test now, as he is scheduled to depart on a away mission to the USS Yorktown. Therefore you can keep working and do the test yourself or if you deem that waiting for him to return is acceptable... you can wait. But I would suggest you begin the test yourself as we can not postpone finding a possible cure for the crew much longer. There is only a limited amount of time we can deal with this problem by dealing with the symptoms but logic states that eventually the medications will no longer be able to counteract the symptoms.", Salek finished
"I'll never argue with a vulcan and his logic." Brelev nodded. She turned to Cadet Nack. "Enjoy your away mission cadet, I'll keep you posted on what I find. In turn, keep an eye on the away mission team members who have already paid us a visit, their symptoms may change and they may need attention."
Once cadet Nack had left Brelev turned to Salek. "Unless you feel the need to supervise the experiments I'll go get started while you hold the fort in here."
<Tag Salek>
Brelev headed to her office to pick up the slug tank and a PaDD. On her way to the lap she picked up the samples from the sick crew and the PaDD outlining her hypothosis. It had been awhile since she got to run an experiment of her own.
The lab was quiet, except for a lone technician recalibrating some of the instruments. Brelev greeted him and found a suitible work place. She started by scanning the slugs to get a base line to comparte any changes with, she then selected one slug out of the four and administerd a drug that would weaken the immune system. She exposed that slug as well as one other to the samples. Then she waited. She needed more slugs, but it was not like they could be replicated.

OOC: a little backposting involved.
ON:
Kiara had been listening to the meeting, and when it was over she headed to engineering to grab a repair kit and few extra items just incase they needed them, she made her way to the turbolift and order it to the transporter room, once she arrived there most everyone was already there, as the positioned themselves on the transportered pad, the Cmdr gave the command to beam them over, lights and sounds suddenly become silent as they transporter swished them over, the materliez on the York town. It was strange so eery and silent only thing that could be heard was the red alert sound going off, but it was queit faint in sound. as they departed the two teams split up Cmdr Hopes team headed for engineering and their was small talk made on they way as they arrived, Engineering seemed almost abandon which was odd for a ship in distress, a few dead body could be found, it was as though they had deterated she cringed a little as they passed a few, and made their way more into Engineering, she had been working on something when Bea-pas pointed out they Gel pac. She confirmed with her that it might be infected, just as they was about to do some more work. they received a Call from Cadet Nack
=/\= Nack to Engineering. We need to have the ability to run a scan on the ship to see if their are life signs. The Hanson's sensors cannot penetrate the ionic storms of the Toko Belt, so we are going to have to get the Yorktown's internal sensors to work =/\=
Kiara tapped her commbadge and replied
=/\=Cadet Sienta here, will take care of that as soon as we can get something working=/\=
OFF: I know it's not much but i wanted to let ya know i am, just i'm having writers block*L*.

S'reena too nearly gagged at the distinct smell of death that hung in engineering. She walked over to the gel pack that Beu-Pas pointed out and confirmed Sienta's confirmation of the infection. "But what sort of infection?" S'reena querried as she kept her mouth covered with her sleeve.
While she listened to Sienta handling a request coming from the Ferengi medical cadet, she also tapped the Vulcan cadet on her shoulder. "Cadet Beu-Pas, I don't know what is policy in your century, but in this one everyone is addressed by their rank, followed by their last name, if there is one. In this case, I would prefer to be addressed as Commander Hope. When we are off duty, we'll see of you can call me S'reena. In Romulan custom, only my friends call my by my first name. I'm afraid you've yet to earn that right."
She didn't like having to reproof a cadet, but it was the only way to get them to do it right. "Cadet Sienta, if you would start working on the internal sensors as requested? Cadet Beu-Pas, see what you can do about those gel-packs."
The Romulan tapped her combadge. "Hope to Salek, what is your status? Engineering looks like a massacre occurred here. Send one of the medical cadets down to perform autopsies. I want to know what killed the entire engineering staff."

--On the Hanson--
"I am fully confident that you will be able to conduct the experiments yourself Doctor", Salek said
"I must depart now if I am to arrive to the transporter room on time", Salek said as he left sickbay
--On the Yorktown--
When Nack suggested going into the Captain's ready room, Salek pointed out to him that the door of the ready room has been melted shut. And seeing their tricoder did not allow them to scan behind the door due to an unknown interference it was logical to postpone any such actions until they had more information. When Cadet Doppelpunkt suggested they go ahead and see what they can find in the conference room, Salek agreed as there was not much to find on the bridge, although, he failed to see the logic that brought about the bridge to be abandoned.
After they reached the conference room door and cadet Doppelpunkt pointed out they were stuck, Salek decided to educate the cadet who obviously slept through his security training.
"Cadet Doppelpunkt, perhaps the door wouldn't be stuck if you activated the manual override for the lock.", he said pointing to a panel near the door
Just as Doppelpunkt was about to remove the panel, a call came from engineering.
=/\=Commander, we can not perform a full autopsy here, however I will send cadet Doppelpunkt down to ascertain the cause of death. =/\=
=/\=Understood, Commander Hope out=/\=
"You have heard the message, cadet", Salek said to Doppelpunkt, "I suggest you get moving", Salek said as cadet Doppelpunkt gave up on the panel and proceeded down the corridor to engineering
<Tag Doppelpunkt>
"Cadet Nack", Salek said, "Perhaps you can provide assistance with the door"; Salek said as he removed the panel and changed the place of several isolinear chips.
The door opened only a crack, "I propose you pull that side and I will pull on this one", Salek said as the two set on opening the door

Beu-Pas turned the gel-pack around in her hands. Not only did it look rotten, but it's smell was more then her heightened Vulcan nose could bear. Setting it down on a table console "Computer analysis of the dead gel-pack."
After a moment,"Aaaa nosis compleeeteat
"Identify particles within gel-pack of nonnative origin."
"Theeair arre 50 norgantci partictcis an 70 gantic particticis" "Show me them."
After a flicker, one of the ship's computers monitors lit up with an image magnified of the gel-pack's contents. In the image Beu-Pas saw a sight she'd never forget.Fore she'd never seen any thing like it in her life before. Robots, little little robots, she'd been told once they had a name but she couldn't remember what they were called.
(OOC: I know what their called, but this is just for Beu-Pas'es character.)

Nack pushed with all his strength, which seemed to be only a fraction of Salek's. The door opened slightly more. Nack climbed through the opening, but Salek could not. Having more room, and thereby more leverage, Nack was better able to help open the door.
"Nice of you to join me, Commander." Nack said, forgetting that Salek's repose would not indulge any playfulness.
"Indeed." was the prosaic reply.
Nack turned around. Once again, the chairs were unbolted, but there were no signs of life.
Wondering where the bridge crew had gone, Nack pulled his tricorder out to scan the medical console, which was flashing nonsensical characters across the screen. Salek was busy running tricorder scans on the chairs, confirming Cadet Fred's contention that the chairs appeared unbolted by a tool, rather than by force.
"Cadet Nack, would you please assist me." Salek motioned single handed for Nack to come closer while his gaze was fixed on his tricorder.
"Check the other chairs, and tell me what you observe."
Nack tapped his tricorder open again, and started scanning the bol... wait... where were the bolts?
"Commander, it appears the bolts have been remov..."
Salek cut him off and finished his sentence.
"removed... Yes, or more likely, consumed. Your finding coincides with mine. Further, I am finding residual amounts of active nanoprobes on and around the chair. Do you know how to scan for these?"
"Yes... Dr. Brelev showed me how on the Hanson to clear them as a possibility for the illness. It looks like the crew-members' fate in the Yorktown's engineering room will not be the fate of those sick on the Hanson." Nack's eagerness to draw an insignificant conclusion registered as a waste of words in Salek's mind. Salek let it pass, mostly because responding would only encourage an inane dialog with the cadet.
Nack scanned the chair bottoms again, this time also finding residual amounts of nanoprobes.
"These are not Borg nanoprobes, Commander." Nack shouted so Salek could hear behind him. Salek was rummaging through the medkit and found a specimen tube.
"How do you know this, Cadet?"
Salek proceeded to take samples of the nanoprobes, which seemed to be adequately contained within their confines.
"My parents had treated the wounded at Wolf 359 before I was born. Part of their research, however, involved keeping some of the nanoprobes in stasis for study. I've seen those nanoprobes. These, here, are not Borg, I'm sure."
Salek acknowledged.
"When the computers come online, we shall need to run an analysis, but for now, acting on your information seems prudent."
Nack smiled. That was probably the closest he would get toward a 'good job' from the Commander.
Salek looked up from the isolation container he was holding in study.
"We need to see if there are any survivors, and help Cadet Doppelpunkt. It would be wise to make our way to Engineering at this time, making stops along the main sections of the ship to check on their status."
Nack exited the partially opened conference room door. Salek followed further behind, having trouble wedging himself out the doorway that Nack had just walked through with ease.

Brelev agreed to let Crystal leave sickbay as long as Crystal checked in every hour, which Crystal could do. Brelev also informed Crystal that she would be watched to make sure Crystal was in fact 'taking it easy,' whatever that meant now. Did that mean Crystal was supposed to just go to her quarters? Crystal was pretty sure not, since from what she could tell the Hanson could use all currently conscious senior staff members it could get.
So Crystal walked towards the bridge, but she walked a little slower than she usually did, not wanting to set off another headache if she could avoid it. She entered the bridge to find it empty of the cadets, probably related to the call for them from Commander Hope Crystal had overheard coming from Cadet Nack's comm badge.
“Commander,” Crystal said to Commander Reynolds, since he appeared to be currently in charge since neither the first officer nor the captain were on the bridge. Crystal struggled for a second on how to kindly phrase her request for information, but then inwardly shrugged. She didn't think she could do it. “I was a little out of things, what's going on?”

Despite his desire to return to the bridge, Drew permitted Brelev to start running her tests. He had to admit, even if only to himself, that recently he had not been feeling his best. The rough and tumble of the ship dropping unexpectedly from warp had not helped either, he had received several injuries from that, including a broken arm, and a rather nasty cut on the head.
Laying back on the biobed, he tried to relax as Brelev ran her instruments over him, healing his wounds. Sickbay was still fairly full of people, but Drew had noticed that since his arrival many had been treated and discharged, no one seemed to be seriously injured, much to his relief.
“How many crewmembers have now been infected with the virus Doctor?” Drew asked when Brelev had finished treating him, and was now preparing her tests.
“All the senior staff has shown some of the symptoms,” Brelev answered, “although some seem to be worst affected than others, a few other crewmembers have also been infected, but for the most part, it’s the senior officers.”
“Including your self?” Drew asked.
“Dr. Salek believes so,” Brelev replied.
With that Brelev snapped shut her tricorder, and walked over to one of the primary work stations in the centre of sickbay, downloading Drew’s readings into the computer for analysis.
“You should try to get some rest for now,” Brelev said, “we wont know the results for a while yet, and you are going no one where until we know if you are infected.”
Various counter arguments came to Drew’s head, but one look from Brelev told him that this time, his best efforts would be futile.
“Very well Doctor,” Drew said in defeat, “you win this time, all I ask is that you let me check in with the away team.”
Brelev considered the idea for a minute or so, then nodded her agreement, and then left Drew to treat another patient.
“Drew to Hope,” Drew said tapping his comm badge, “what’s your status?”
OOC: Good work everyone, I am pleased to see our Cadet's getting involved with the away mission.

S'reena wasn't too surprised when Drew contacted her. On or off duty, he'd always want to keep in the know about things, so she refrained from commenting on it and instead answered his question. "Everyone in engineering has been killed admiral, we are currently trying to discover what killed them. Cadet Doppelpunkt is on his way down to perform an examination, Salek deems it unwise to perform an autopsy here in engineering."
She paused, nodding encouragingly as she noticed Beu-Pas had managed to get one of the consoles operational. "We have one operational console, Cadet Beu-Pas is running a few diagnostics, we shall know more in a few minutes I hope."
S'reena was holding on tightly to the railing near the warpcore, to keep herself steady. She knew by now going on the awayteam may have been a very bad idea indeed as she was starting to feel dizzy once more. "I do hope we're not staying here too long," she added, "the smell of decay is nauseating. Admiral, how are you holding up?"
(Drew)
Once her report was delivered, S'reena joined Beu-Pas at her console. "What have you discovered?" she asked the Vulcan cadet, looking over her shoulder at the screen. What she saw sent shivers of unease down her spine. "Borg nano's?" she querried, praying that it were not.
(Beu-Pas)
She turned and looked over her shoulder to see Sienta working at another console near the cadaver they'd found earlier. "Sienta, how are you holding up? Any progress on getting the engines back online?"
(Sienta)
Then Doppelpunkt entered engineering, seemingly in a hurry. "There's your cadaver," S'reena said and pointed, "please work as fast as you can. If needed, send the corpse back to the Hanson...under quarantine mind you!" The Romulan sighed. "We'll all have to go into quarantine when we return to the ship. Oh the joys of away missions into unknowns."
(Doppelpunkt)

Kiara was busy working on the Internal Sensors, she was quit pleased with herself, it had taken her a bit longer due to some glitches she had to fix, but she almost had it fixxed when the Commander spoke to her.
She turned and looked over her shoulder to see Sienta working at another console near the cadaver they'd found earlier. "Sienta, how are you holding up? Any progress on getting the engines back online?"
*I've almost got it* Kiara replied in return, she pushed a few more buttons, *YES* she said outloud, not really meaning to. *Commander, we now have Internal sensors back up and running and the emergency settings should come on about, now* she said, pleased with herself.

Brelev had succesfully vetoed most of the theorized causes for the two patient groups. She was down to two slugs, and had a few too many left over ideas. She chose the first idea that came to mind, it was the oddest of the possibilities but Brelev knew enough to suspect it might indeed be right. Of course if it was then things would become complicated for the way team. She exposed both slugs to the samples from the patients, and insured that both had been infected. Brelev then arranged a site to site transport for slug A. The small invertabra would be beamed from one container into another only one meter away. Once complete Brelev ran her tricorder over the slug once again.
The slug she had recently transported was experiancing the same symptoms as Commander Hope. So the transporters where it, but then why was Brelev not suffering the same as S'reena Hope? Brelev picked up the last slug and a hypospray. She injected a small amount of Immune-booster into the creature and arranged a site to site transport once again. Sure enough, nothing changed. The slug still experianced elevated cortical activity, but nothing more.
Brelev cleaned up her work space, placing the slugs back into their tank and placing the tank in quarintine. She de-contaminated the intstruments she'd been using and left, heading for Sickbay.
Brelev opened a Comm channel to the away team. =A= Cadet Nack and Doctor Salek, I have made a breakthrough regarding the illness.=A=

=A=You must not transport any member of the team who is experiancing any signs of the illness, I will relay this message to the Bridge as well. =A=

Nack was down the first corridor and around the corner before Salek finally freed himself from the door. Nack thought to offer help, but Salek would not likely take it from the Ferengi.
There was a pungent odor of burnt flesh in the air, which Nack stumbled across the source of when he entered the holodeck in search for survivors.
Salek had caught up by now. The grid was in stand-by mode, showing the actual depth of the room with its gridlines. In the far corner, what appeared to be 2 or 3 mangled charred bodies where lying in a pile. The air hung thick with a grey smoke.
Nack had seen the casualties of battle before, and entered the room with nothing more than the disdain for the terrible smell. Salek seemed more intrigued and curious than he did upset or bothered.
"The holodec controls have nanites on them." Nack said as he scanned the gateway panel. "The crewmembers over there, " Nack scanned them quickly, "don't have any nanites. One Andorian, and two humans. Killed by smoke inhalation... burned by standard combustion..., fire." Nack replaced his tricorder.
A communique came over the badge:
=A= Cadet Nack and Doctor Salek, I have made a breakthrough regarding the illness.=A=
Salek replied, stepping outside of the holodeck to respond to Dr. Brelev while Nack checked the isolinear circuitry. It appeared the nanites had "eaten" through the isolinear circuitry at a place critical to it safety controls in the holodec. After that, something in the program probably caught fire, and lacking any extinguishment or safety overrides, spread out of control.
Nack exited the holodec, waiting for Salek to finish replying to Brelev, and explained to him what he had found.
Salek took it all in stride, but first contacted Commander Hope to relay Brelev's warning, and to tell her of his and Nack's findings about the non-Borg nanites.
"We should continue, Cadet Nack. There is nothing more to be gained here."
Salek led the way down the hall, stopping to peer into empty living quarters, as he and Nack made their way to engineering.

OOC: Just a post to tie up a few loose ends we have with the Hanson’s status.
Drew listened to S’reena’s grim report, and grieved for the loss of life on the Yorktown, she was one of the Hanson’s sister ships, belonging to the same class. As he lay on the bio-bed, a horrible thought came to Drew that could very easily be the Hanson, the last report he had heard was that the warp drive was still off-line, and that there was multiple damage across all decks.
Noticing that for the moment at least, Sickbay seemed to be empty of any doctors, and that he felt slightly better than he did before arriving in sickbay, Drew pulled himself up from the bed, and made his way out of Sickbay.
A few minutes later, Drew was walking into Main Engineering, which was even busier than what Sickbay had been. Engineers seemed to be crouched under every station, repairing some system or another, the warp core itself was still offline. Until they could get the drive running again, the Hanson was as good as stranded in space.
“Commander Smith, what’s our status?” Drew asked as he approached his Chief Engineer, who was busy working on one of the primary stations facing the core.
“Admiral!” Smith exclaimed, clearly surprised to see Drew, then recovering his composure, he gave his report, “there is a problem with the magnetic interlocks, until we can resolve it, we can’t go to warp.”
“What’s causing the problem?” Drew asked, looking down at the system readouts on Smith’s station.
“As you can see sir,” Smith explained, “the interlocks are being disrupted by something in subspace.”
“Which I am willing to bet is being caused by the Toko belt,” Drew replied.
Smith nodded his head in agreement, and called up a display on his console, “However, I believe I have a way to reinforce the interlocks.”
Drew looked at the display that Smith had called it up. It should a diagram of the Hanson’s impluse drive, which was still operational.
“If we drain the impluse engines, we could use the excess power to reinforce the interlocks, and reestablish a warp field,” Smith explained.
“Impressive,” Drew answered, reviewing the specs on the console, “but if it doesn’t work, we lose both impulse and warp power.”
“Impulse power wont get us back home fast enough,” Smith pointed out, “if we don’t reinfroce the interlocks, the core will eventually breach.”
In resignation, Drew nodded his head, Smith was right, they had to take the gamble.
“Do it,” Drew ordered.
“Aye aye Admiral,” Smith replied, and began keying in commands to his station. Leaving his Chief Engineer to get on with his task, Drew left Engineering and headed back up to Sickbay, he needed to know what progress Brelev had made on finding a cure for the illness.
When he arrived, he wasn’t surprised to see a very angry looking Brelev emerge from her office.
“I thought we agreed you were going to stay here and rest?” Brelev said, her voice heated.
“We did, but there was a minor problem I had to take care of,” Drew answered, “now, have you made any progress?”

*Commander, we now have Internal sensors back up and running and the emergency settings should come on about, now*
"Well done cadet," S'reena praised as she ducked under one of the consoles near the warpcore. While she was no engineer, she too could see that several wires had been fused. "See if you can get the warpcore back online, but tread carefully. If you think it's too dangerous to do, don't start on it."
The smell in engineering was nauseating to say the least, and the temperature was well beyond her comfort levels. Yet it seemed to S'reena that neither Beu-Pas nor Sienta seemed to be bothered by it. Her tunic was sticking to her back and her hair was plastered to her forehead. She sighed as she wiped a single stray strand from her eyes, then tried to focus on repairing the fused wiring.
The Romulan yelped when a sudden and unexplainable energy surge through the console sent it up in sparks, causing her to burn her fingers on the cut wiring. She sat up in one fluid movement, bashing her head hard on the console above her. She uttered a Romulan obcenity under her breath as she lay back down to work on the wires. She had to reach up far to get to the rest of the wiring for checking them as she had forgotten to take her tricorder from her previous workplace.
S'reena felt extremely dizzy but blamed it on herself for bashing her head on a console, not knowing that it was her mysterious illness playing up again. She also blamed it on the smell of death that for some odd reason wouldn't be vented from engineering. She had just reached the needed wiring for inspection when a dizzy spell hit her and she fell back down, pulling the wiring in the process, causing engineering to go partially dark.
At the precise same moment, another jolt passed through the Yorktown, causing everyone that was still on their feet to lose their footing. Several more consoles sparked and several were ripped from their standards, including the one S'reena was inspecting. She was half buried under it, one arm pinned on her chest, the other free to move.
"Sienta!" she cried, knowing Beu-Pas was on the other engineering level, and out of range for immediate assistance and she didn't know where Doppelpunkt was right now. The console was heavy and she couldn't lift it off by herself. By the time the engineering cadet reached her, S'reena had lost consciousness again.

Salek and Nack were slowly making way towards engineering when suddenly she whole ship shook and all the consoles on the walls burned out throwing sparks in all directions.
"Cadet Nack, are you all right"; Salek asked the Cadet who was closer to the consoles
"I'm fine", Nack said while staggering back to his feet
"I would advise that we increase the speed of our steps and get to engineering as soon as possible"; Salek said
"Agreed", Nack responded as the two hurried on their way to engineering
--In engineering--
When Salek and Nack arrived to engineering they saw cadet Sienta and Dopplepunkt moving a console of someone’s unconscious body. When they moved closer, they saw it was S’reena passed out.
"Cadet Nack...", Salek started but Nack already knew what his instructor wanted
"Yes I'm on it", Nack replied as he pulled out his tricoder and went to see what he could do for S'reena. Meanwhile Salek was scanning some residual traces of the nanobots that appear to be the cause of all these problems. This would require some more analysis Salek concluded as he took a sample of the nanites.
=/\=Salek to Doctor Brelev=/\=
=/\=Brelev here, go ahead=/\=
=/\=Doctor, I have a sample of the nanites that seem to be responsible for whatever happened to the Yorktown, can you scan the composition of the nanites and run it against those nanites used by Starfleet medical for cellular repairs.=/\=
=/\=Understood, I will contact you when I have the results, Brelev out=/\=
When he was done with the nanites, Salek walked over to Nack, Doppelpunkt and Sienta who were just done with moving S’reena’s unconscious body to a safer location in engineering.
"Cadet, what have you determined so far", Salek asked Nack

=/\=Drew here, go ahead Doctor=/\=
=/\=We have encountered a minor problem, Commander Hope has lost consciousness and inadvertently caused some more damage to the ship systems taking out the emergency lightening on half the ship. Cadet Nack is tending to her now, I do not believe it is safe to beam her of the ship right now. I will contact you when we know something more about her state.=/\=

Brelev had returned to sickbay to supervise the treatment of the sick crew-members, although most had returned to their posts or quarters a few had opted to remain. Ideally she would have a better idea of how to treat them now that she knew how the illness progressed. Of course the one thing that puzzled her was how an illness could be mutated or altered by the transporters, she could not recall a case of this before. She had completed her rounds there and was about to check in on the out-patients when she was interrupted.
=/\=Salek to Doctor Brelev=/\= =/\=Brelev here, go ahead=/\= =/\=Doctor, I have a sample of the nanites that seem to be responsible for whatever happened to the Yorktown, can you scan the composition of the nanites and run it against those nanites used by Starfleet medical for cellular repairs.=/\= =/\=Understood, I will contact you when I have the results, Brelev out=/\=
The sample arrived a few moments later in one of the containment fields set up for such instances. She could run the scans in sickbay rather then back in the labs, which was a good thing since Brelev was getting tired of such trips. She herself did not entirely approve of the use of nanites, it was not an ethical thing for her, but anything even remotely resembling Borg technology made her quake. There was a reason she had left her previous post, the sector was crawling with drones.
She pulled up a diagram of Federation Nanites, they had some in sickbay she could also examine if she needed, but they where not something you pulled out whilly Nilley. The samples Salek sent matched the Federation nanites exactly, but how had they gotten from sickbay to Engineering, and how could they be responsible for what was occurring on the Yorktown?
=A= Doctor Brelev to Doctor Salek, the samples are indeed Federation I have no doubt about that. I do however have difficulty believing they could be responsible for the destruction on that ship.=A=

Now that the Hanson’s most critical problems seemed to have been resolved down in Engineering, Drew was heading back to the bridge. Nodding to two crewmembers that walked passed him; Drew hit the control for the turbolift, and waited for the shaft to arrive.
As he was stepping into the turbolift, Salek’s voice came over the comm system, informing him of S’reena’s injury, and current emergency situation on the Yorktown.
“Commander, have Cadet Sienta do what she can to stabilise the Yorktown. We are making improvements on the Hanson and should be able to get a tractor beam on you shortly.”
Arriving at the bridge, Drew was taken aback by how empty it looked. With so many Cadet’s off the ship, it was almost just a skeleton crew on the bridge.
“What’s our status?” Drew asked Jason Reynolds as he walked over to the Ops station.
“Engineering reports we should have warp drive back within thirty minutes, the rest of the repairs are also coming along well,” Reynolds replied, “I have also informed Starfleet of our situation, and they are dispatching the USS Monitor to give us assistance.”
“Good,” Drew replied, walking down to the command deck, “although hopefully, we wont need that much assistance.
Taking his seat, Drew looked forward to the helm station, pleased to see it once again manned by Crystal.
“Commander, bring us into tractor beam range of the Yorktown, once we have them in a beam, set a course back to Starbase Conqueror at our best possible warp speed.”
“Aye Admiral,” Crystal replied.
Nodding his thanks, Drew hit the comm button on his chair, “Drew to Away Team, what is your status? We are ready to engage you in a tractor beam.”
OOC:
Cadet Sienta, stabilise the Yorktown so that its structural integrity can withstand the tractor beam, and going to warp.
Cadet Nack, treat S’reena’s injuries, do what you can to free her from the debris.
The Hanson wont be able to use transporters to bring you back to the ship, as per Doctor’s orders, I therefore suggest that a shuttle will be sent to the Yorktown to recover the away team before we depart for the Starbase.

When Salek got the confirmation that the nanites were indeed federation issued, his thesis was confirmed.
=/\=It is a rather long explanation Doctor, I will explain when we return to the Hanson, Salek out=/\=
After he was done with the conversation with Doctor Brelev he went back to Nack, Dopplepunkt, Sienta and now even Beu-Pas was standing around S'reena.
"Give them some room", Salek instructed the gathered crowd, "Cadet Beu-Pas and Cadet Sienta, go and see if you can divert all available auxiliary power from engines, shields, weapons and all other systems except life support into the structural integrity fields. The Yorktown needs to be able to withstand warp travel."; he instructed them

"Cadet Nack, I believe you can inject the commander with some stimulants and bring her back to the real world", he said, "Cadet Dopplepunkt, contact the Hanson and see if you can arrange a shuttle to come and pick us up before we depart for Starbase Conqueror", he said

Nack grabbed his med-kit and remembered he left his tricorder in the holodeck. "Great!" he thought. "Not again." as he sighed. Luckily, Fred had left his kit open, and Nack wasted no time in grabbing his tricorder. He was busy anyway.
Nack gave S'reena the hypospray while monitoring her condition. She had a severe cerebral contusion, but that could be repairable with a sub-neural cauterizer back on the Hanson. For now, the stimulant will do just fine.
Nack's face was a happy one, but S'reena's was not, as she awoke to Nack's cheery "good morning, Commander... That was a bad fall you took... not to mention you are still suffering from your illness here...". Nack put away his tricorder, but still stood over S'reena to exert some sort of medical authority over her.
"I am fine. I hit my head. What did I miss? What is the ship's status?" S'reena said aloud, pushing aside the medical officer with a shallow swing of her left arm as she made her way to the console.
"I think she's fine." Nack said under his breath to Salek, who's lack of acknowledgment left Nack wondering whether or not he had heard. Nack decided if Salek felt more was necessary, he could intervene.
"Commander, I would like to go back to the holodeck..." Nack thought of a reason quickly, "to make more scans..."
Salek nodded, confused, but indifferent. They were waiting anyway.
Nack made his way back to the holodeck. As he approached, more systems were coming online. When he reached the holodeck, the doors opened automatically. He walked in... but his tricorder was gone. In its place was a pile of what looked like circuitry... but Nack couldn't be sure without a tricorder to view it with.
Nack had an idea
=/\= Computer, are you online? =/\= *Computer is operational.* =/\= Can you scan holodeck grid 2-9-5 dot 4 for any mechanical components =/\= *Confirmed. Isolinear circuitry, multiphasic metalloids, and Federation Class I nanoprobes are present.
Nack sighed. He left the holodeck. The nanoprobes ate his tricorder. "Well, I could keep Fred's tricorder...." Nack's instincts were kicking in, in a time of trouble.... ".. but I don't think it will be such a big deal to have lost one." Nack resigned to a more human conscience and accept the consequences of his actions.
Nack was in sickbay when Cadet Fred reported back to Commander Salek.

Kiara stood up and made her way toward the mess the commander had created as Cadet Nack begin treating Commander Hope, she watched momentarily before hearing Doctor Salek’s words. she quickly turned her head toward the console and begin her work. she first started by repairing the wires that had been messed up by the commander, it seemed like it took hours to repair when in reality it only took half the time.
Once she had most the panels back up and running, she began the manual transfer of powers. First she took all the non essential components offline, like the Holodeck, replicators and so forth, and then she transferred all that power to the structural integrity fields, it took a while for that to take place, she watched as the others were busy doing what the needed to do.
She noticed that Commander Hope was back up on her feat and already giving out orders, she was impressed by the womans strong will and determination. she only hoped that she was okay, she thought of asking her how she felt but refrained from it, now was not the time. she would make note to check on her later, just as she was in mid thought the computer beeped letting her know the transfer was complete, she turned back to the task at hand, she started working on attempting to transfer power from the shileds when she ran into a problem.
*Damn* she said not really meaning for it to be so verbal, she turned to Beu-Pas
*Cadet Beu-Pas, can you take a look at this, for some reason it’s not wanting to allow me to finish the transfer manually, is there something else I need to do?* She questioned hoping that the Cadet could help her.

After Cadet Nack departed form Engineering, Salek looked over S'reena who was attempting to get of the ground and who was still in obvious pain.
=/\=Salek to Nack=/\=
=/\=Nack here, go ahead=/\=
=/\=Cadet, get back down to engineering=/\=
=/\=Sir?=/\=
=/\=Get down here, cadet=/\=
Salek said all in a calm voice.
=/\=Understood, on my way=/\=
Once Nack said he was getting down, Salek helped S'reena to get to her feet.
"You should take it easy, that broken arm needs healing that can not be provided here, but had you told cadet Nack that you arm was broken, he would've given you something for the pain."; Salek said and just as he was done, cadet Nack arrived
"Mr. Nack, have you ever seen a broken arm before?", Salek asked
"Yes?", Nack responded not getting where Salek was going with this
"Does this not look to you like a broken arm you can see in any Starfleet issued medical book?", Salek asked indicating to S'reena's arm which was in an odd position
<Tag Nack>
"Therefore is it not logical that her arm is broken?", Salek asked
<Tag Nack>
While Nack was still struck by how he did not realize the commander's arm was broken, Salek extracted a hyposprey from Nack's med kit and injected S'reena with the contents of it.
"This should take care of the pain for now", Salek said, "And I believe our transportation will be here soon", Salek said as he saw cadet Dopplepunkt approaching them

S'reena leaned against the balustrade, her face contorted with the agony she was experiencing. She was grateful for Salek administering a painkiller to her and she felt it take effect immediately. She sympathized with the Ferengi cadet, who looked her over guiltily.
"Cadet, take off your tunic," Salek suddenly spoke up, after studying his patient in silence for several seconds.
"Sir?" Nack replied, looking as surprised as a Ferengi would.
"Your tunic, take it off and rip it to strips approximately five centimeters wide."
(Nack)
S'reena watched the proceedings with distant interest, as she focussed on the other medical cadet approaching excitedly. "Our ride is here," Doppelpunkt announced.
S'reena nodded as Nack and Salek tightly bound her broken arm to her chest, deftly securing it. She didn't so much as yelp when they did so, even though their ministrations were painful. "Let's go then," she said, nodding towards the medics present, "I would suggest decontamination before boarding the Hanson. Quarantine in effect en route to decon chamber, until we are certain we are not bringing further disease to the Hanson."
Several minutes later, a shuttlecraft landed back in the Hanson's shuttlebay, carrying the full away team.

By the time the shuttle arrived to the Hanson a decontamination unit had been set in the shuttle bay and quarantine forcefields prepared to shield the rest of the bay from the people who were coming out of the shuttle. After the shuttle finally settled the quarantine forcefields were activated and one by one the people from the shuttle started to disembark. As one person got of the shuttle, they would proceed towards the decon chamber that was set up in the bay. After they got in, the sterilization fields would be activated and the person would be decontaminated. It took about 30 minutes for everyone to be decontaminated and another 20 for everyone to be scanned for any traces of the nanites.
When the medical staff conducting the decontamination was satisfied, the forcefields were lowered and the people release to go about their duties. Salek, Nack, Dopplepunkt and S'reena proceeded to sickbay and Beu-pas and Sienta to engineering.
When Salek, Nack, Dopplepunkt and S'reena arrived to sickbay, Salek instructed the commander to go and lie down on the bio bed so that her hand could be healed and he informed Nack and Dopplepunkt to talk to Doctor Brelev and see about finding a cure for the illness troubling the senior staff.
