Lt Bates finished checking over Shelby program while Hannah checked over hers.
"Sooooo, how's it coming?" Hannah heard Noah say from behind her.
“The shield emitters have been modified to emit a beta tacyon pulse,” she informed Noah, “And Shelby has just finished modifying the deflector.”
Before Noah had a chance to respond, the warp engineers had been indicated.
“The bridge has ordered us to leave the vortex at warp speed,” an officer shouted.
Hannah knew that the warp field won’t hold for long from the disruptions of the vortex, so her and Shelby made a slight alteration to the deflector to the settings that it had originally been modified to when entering the vortex.

oGrayson was busy sending Cadet Whillis information on gravitation anomolies when he hear Commander Hope snap an order at him: "OPS, about that telemetry?" she asked, sounding increasingly impatient. "This is no time to play around!" However before he could respond, a bright white flash temporarily blinded everyone, even after the viewscreen automatically dimmed it.
"Report!" S'reena yelled Nick. "What happened! What did you do to that probe!"
He felt insulted when she blamed it on him. "It exploded, Ma'am." He found it hard to keep an edge out of his voice.
Engineering reported that it had actually exploded from gravitational stresses, and then Commander S'reena beckoned him over, looking as she was too unwell to even try and turn. "Find out why it exploded," she said curtly, "see if there's any other reason besides gravitational stress!"
He began working on his new orders. And as the Hanson continued to dwell within the vortex, on her way to the stranded ship, a tiny black dot was appearing on the main viewscreen. "What's that!" S'reena exclaimed.
Nick looked at his setup he had scanning for anomolies. *Why did I not see this before?* he thought to himself, horrified. "Commander! It's a black hole!" She immedietely ordered a retreat, leaving the Matthew to its fate.
*Leave all those people to die?* He was about to object when Commander McCormick, who had returned to the bridge, beat him to it. But before Commander Hope answered her, Commander Graxen also entered the bridge and announce he could no longer feel anyone aboard. *All of them, dead?*
The retreat continued, and then Cadet Whillis annoucned they had exited the vortex *It's a black hole!* The stress was getting to Nick, and he spoke out: "Commander Hope? What about the other ship or weapon or whatever it was Cadet Brandy said was approaching us? What if it is the cause of this black hole?" He paused a moment to gather his thoughts. "Shouldn't we investigate it better and see if it needs to be stopped? I don't think it would be in the interest of the Federation, or anyone else for that matter, to have a machine running amuck that is capable of starting a black hole!" He stopped before he said something he would regret: he was still angry at her previous comment. It was made even worse at his own knowledge that he should have noticed it was a black hole sooner. *Maybe we couldn't save the Matthew, but we can save more from their fate.*
<Tag Commander Hope, or anyone else who would like to add to this. Cadet Brandy perhaps?>

"If they are still in the vortex, where that black hole is appeareing then they shall be pulled into that black hole," S'reena said tiredly, "and frankly I couldn't care less if they are indeed pulled in. No ship can withstand the gravitational pulls of a black hole, once it has entered it's grasps."
She didn't miss the shocked expression on the cadet's face. "Carry on Mr Grayson, I want an operations report before we reach Conqueror. Anything that probe sent before it was destroyed must be analysed." S'reena turned to Brandy. "Though we are not going back to investigate that other ship, have you found anything Mr Brandy?" she enquired, shifting uneasily in her chair.
Then she noticed Graxen's ashen expression. "Mr Graxen, something wrong?" When the counselor/navigator didn't respond, she struggled out of her seat and shuffled over to him, shaking him forcefully. "Commander!" she shouted at him, finally getting his attention, "are you all right?"

In Graxen's mind ...
~ Form ... what form is this ... what ship is this ... steamy ... hot ... eye sight blurry ... OUCH ... pain. There ... there is the control panel. Must get to the panel. Its still working. What are the commands ... I must remember the commands! ~
John was bombarded with thoughts from the vortex. However, he didn't know from where. The thoughts were different somehow; non-human. This was a thought pattern that was broken ... simple; very alien.
~ View screen ... static ... image ... that ship ... leaving the vortex ... must stop ~
John knew that it wasn't the Matthew... but who was it? He hadn't sensed those thoughts before. 'Why now?' John thought. The next thing he felt was shaking ...
Shaking him forcefully ... "Commander!" Hope shouted at Graxen, finally getting his attention, "are you all right?"
"Yes ... Yes ... I'm OK," John said as he stood trying to clear his eye sight; something that he hadn't been able to do for a while now. "I ... I became aware of ... someone ... in the vortex." Knowing that the Commander would instantly want to know if it was the Matthew, "NO ... Commander ... I wasn't on the Matthew. It was an alien ship. Thoughts that I have never encountered before. However, who ever they were ... they are gone now. I have no idea if they were destroyed, or if they simply left."

Soaringstar entered the bridge and walked to the tactical station and stood right beside Brandy. "Commander," she said respectfully, her eyes focusing on the tactical screen, pressing a few buttons,"I believe they are still here" With that, a ship apeared on th view screeen. It was a beautiful ship that had a triangular shape and the hull looked as if it was made out of a glowing silver metal that seemed to burn the eyes. "Commander, it is hailing us.." OCC: So sorry I haven't posted in so long, I sort of was Grounded. So Who wants to be the alien? I'll do it if no one else does.

On the alien ship…
“They must not leave,” the leader said calmly, as the second silver ship shrunk on the viewscreen, “we must stop them.”
“How?” the second said, his yellow energy blinking furiously, “we cannot stop them.”
“We must”, the leader said more forcibly, his energy turning red, “Without them, we will fall.”
Without warning, the silvery mist around them shook them violently. A sign of the terrible danger the great ship was in.
“I can hear there thoughts,” the fifth said, “I can access them.”
“Make them stay!” the leader bellowed, “make them stay, make them stay!”
Again, the mist shook them around, and this time, a whistling noise pierced there hearing. Things were going wrong, very wrong.
“I have a way to communicate,” the fifth said finally, “they use a subspace communication network.”
“Access the network,” the leader commanded, “we will make them stay.”
Meanwhile, on the Hanson…
The chair was comfortable; it was so comfortable he didn’t want to leave it. If he just led his head back, then peaceful sleep would take him, everything would be silent, and everything would be restful.
But someone was making too much noise, disturbing his relaxation. In his mind he could hear many voices, some very vaguely familiar to him. Something important was happening around him, something he was meant to be apart of. But he didn’t have the energy to move, not even to open his eyes, all he wanted to do was to rest and sleep.
“Admiral,” a voice more clear than the others said loudly in his ear, “Admiral, wake up!”
With a shock, Drew opened his eyes; the bridge was lit by the red flashing of the alarm systems. On the forward viewscreen was a brightly coloured alien, against a misty fog background. The alien was saying something, but Drew couldn’t understand, his body was still protesting to sleep and rest.
“You cannot leave here, we will not allow it,” the alien said, his voice becoming clearer to Drew.
“We will leave,” S’reena replied angrily, “this area of space is having a dire effect on our crew. To stay would be to kill them.”
“Then, you will die,” the alien replied, “You have been warned.”
With a flash the viewscreen returned to an image of the stars, the channel with the alien leader closed.
“S’reena,” Drew choked, his throat dry, “what is happening?”

S'reena glared at her commanding officer as if to say that he should be the one standing there, and not she. "We are dealing with an alien vessel whose occupants demand we return to that vortex," she snapped at him, "that's what's happening. But if we do that, the risks of our older crewmembers expiring before their due date increases dramatically." She paused as she continued to glare. "And frankly, sir you fall into that category. Now, either you will pay attention, or you will kindly not interfere."
<Drew>
S'reena turned her back on Drew and glared at the aliens. "We will not be returning to the vortex," she told them, "it is non-negotiable." The Romulan cast a sharp look at Grayson and made the 'kill' signal. Instantly, the viewscreen showed the high warp starfield again. "Cadet Whillis, under no circumstance are you to deviate from your course to Starbase Conqueror, do you understand? No matter what contradicting order is given, you are to stay on course back to the station."
<Whillis>
"Cadets Brandy, Soaringstar and Halrax, sweep the ship. Make sure we are ready for battle if we need be. Tyrron, Soaringstar, you two have tested our defensive systems when we left dock, what is their status, and will you be able to do your tasks?"
<Brandy/Soaringstar/Tyrron>
Now, S'reena sighed and sat back down, and closed her eyes herself for a brief moment. "Get the aliens back on." The faces of the aliens reappeared and they didn't look any happier than before. "Make any move to attack us, and we will destroy you," she threatened, "and be sure that I do not make any jokes about this. I am tired, I am in a very bad mood and I will give the order."

They were headed out of the vortex. Something in Bates breathed a big sigh of relief, and his energy seemed to go with it. He was tired, sore, and hungry. And that was what, 3 shifts straight now?
Noah guided his chair over to his Cadets. "Well you two, looks like our work is pretty much done. You must be tired, I'm tired, and especially hungry. What do you say we go to the Mess Hall and get some food?"
<Hannah/Shelby>
"Good, let's go then," he said. "Lieutenant Bates, take over for a while," he called over his shoulder, then he, Stevenson and Shelby headed out of Engineering.
Noah was a bit silent as they headed toward the turbolift. "Deck 2," he ordered, then sighed heavily. "I'm beat. I haven't mentioned this to anyone yet, but Doctor Black informed me that the aging effects from this vortex have made me 66, despite being 20 years younger than that. Add to that working 3 shifts in a row. An actually 66-year-old would have collapsed by now. Anyway, you two have done well this mission. You definitely had a challenging task."
A moment later, the door opened, and they headed out of the turbolift. A minute later, they were in the Mess Hall. Bates approached the replicator. "Computer, access my personal database and replicate selection Bates 015," he said, and a large portion of Irish stew appeared. "Mmmmmm," he said, taking it out. "Order whatever you want, it's on me."

John was now standing behind the helm as Cadet Whillis was piloting the ship back to star base. His mind was a rush of sound. The aliens were bombarding his mind. In fact they were searching for one person who didn't have their guard up. One who would turn the ship around. 'Do they know ....' John couldn't say it for fear that the aliens wound find out who to control. John turned and walked toward the Commander.
"Commander, I must warn you that they are searching for one who would do as they ask. You MUST persuade the crew to clear their minds. But ... most importantly ... they must not drop their guard. It would be best if you gave everyone something to do ... a task that in no way eluded to how to control this ship." Looking at the helm and then back to the Commander. "We may want to set and lock our course into the computer." The Commander looked up at Graxen with a bit of disbelief and said, "Graxen ... how ... how do you know their intentions?"
John responded, "Commander, they know their ship is doomed ... only seconds away from destruction from the black hole. We ... rather ... the Hanson is the only way they can escape. I don't know how ... but this ship is the only hope they have. They have not a single care for the life on this ship ... just as they didn't for the Matthew ... they only care for their own. ... ... Commander ... we must leave this system." John looked deeply into Commander Hopes eyes, "your inner strength is strong ... help the crew." John went back to the helm behind Cadet Whillis .. he needed to be their if the aliens attacked the helmsman's mind.

The first to respond to Nick's rambling was Commander Hope: "If they are still in the vortex, where that black hole is appeareing then they shall be pulled into that black hole," she said tiredly. "And frankly I couldn't care less if they are indeed pulled in. No ship can withstand the gravitational pulls of a black hole, once it has entered it's grasps."
She didn't miss the shocked expression on the cadet's face. "Carry on Mr Grayson, I want an operations report before we reach Conqueror. Anything that probe sent before it was destroyed must be analysed."
He turned away from her and to his task, very agitated at the way she was just dismissing everything he said and did. *Romulan genes...*
Just as he was beginning, the ship Brandy had discovered hailed them, at he put them onscreen. They began talking about how they must return, even if they would die. He was already angry, and now he was even more so. *Calm down, now's not the time to loose your temper.* Commander Hope taked to them and then gave Nick the kill signal. He cut the communication, and then a moment later she had him put them back on. She gave them a good strong no, and then had him cut them off again.
He was returning to his duties when Commander Graxen spoke of the alien's possible attempts to control their minds. *Control me? I'd rather die.* He turned around to his instructor, "Commander, Ma'am? Is there anything you would have me do, after what Commander Graxen has said?"

“Sure,” Hannah responded as a smile appeared across her face. She had actually forgotten how hungry she was while she was engrossed in her work. But at the thought of food her stomach rumbling became extremely loud that she could no longer block it out.
They headed out of engineer and into one of the nearly turbolifts. Once inside, Noah explained the aging that was happening to him. Hannah looked at Noah she hadn’t really noticed his hair was going grey and his face was becoming wrinkled until now. Now she understood why she had noticed Shelby was looking slight older, but was surprised that she hadn’t noticed it about anyone else.
They entered the messhall a few minutes later and Noah was the first to order and chose the Irish stew. Hannah though about what she wanted to eat and decided that it was going to have be a large dinner as she hadn’t eaten a proper meal in several hours.
“Lamb dinner please,” she said to the replicator. It appeared a moment later and she lifted it out and took it over to a table that Noah had just rolled up to.
<Shelby>
Hannah placed the meal on the table and sat down on one of the chairs. Shelby arrived a few seconds later with a plate of food and joined them at the table. Hannah tucked in the meal it was delightful, but she guessed anything that she would have ordered would of tasted great she was that hungry.
Hannah finished a mouthful and looked up at the two men.
“So, I guess when we back get assigned to a fleet ship,” she said, she felt sad to leave the Hanson, but also excited about joining a new ship, “I’m going to be sad to leave this ship.”

"Commander and ma'am in the same sentence, wow I didn't think I would hear that from anyone any time soon. Either I heard wrong, which is likely, or we are both so tired that you said it, and I find it funny. I like the second one better. Just fill in the report about what came in from the probe, and what has happened on your watch this mission. Hand that in and we are pretty much done. We just have to make sure to watch the power and incoming messages, nothing new or exciting left. " She said, glad this was over. She needed sleep and food, and the sooner she got it the better. She was slouching in her seat looking over her part of the station, the back console again. She wondered if she was really needed on the bridge at that point.
"Cadet, I need to chat with the captain and first officer." She said standing up slower than usual, and she wondered if that was because of the lack of food and sleep, then she realizes she could use a shower too. She slowly approaches them.
"Excuse me, sir and ma'am, I don't believe I am presently needed on the bridge. My cadet is doing a fine job, and I believe he will do so whether I'm there or not. So, with that I would like permission to go off duty." She said while standing at attention trying to be a good example to the cadets.

Jack had the course set and was flying at best posible speed to the Starbase. He was a little suprised at the turn of events and was trying to keep his cool. Jack was starting to get frustrated and could feel a headace coming, and he wondered if the aliens were to blame or if it was stress. You must relax jack, your responce is most illogica, Jack smiled as the voice of his best friend from earth came in his mind. Jack took a deep breath and tried using one of the Vulcan calming techniques his Vulcan had taught him to get better controll of his temper.
It seemed to help, even his headache was demineshin and he could feel his heart slow down. Sure he was only human but with practice he had managed to get the technique perfected as much as he could. He hit the controls and and brought up the distance to the starbase and to the Vortex. He would not be completely calm until he had the ship safely at the starbase. He decided to keep up with the teachings of his vulcan freind including a little of hiding his emotions. Humans might not have complete control like a vulcan bt they can cover them and make sure others did not see them. It also helped him concentrate and keep his mind occupied and from thinking about the crew of the Mathews.

S'reena was mid-sentence yelling something at Drew when the operations instructor approached them. "What!" S'reena yelled, spinning around. "Oh," she then said, toning down a fair bit. "What's on your mind commander?"
"I was wondering if I could go off duty," McCormick repeated, "Mr Grayson can handle things quite well."
S'reena gazed back over her shoulder at Drew, who appeared to go increasingly deaf. ~that, or he's pretending~ S'reena thought, then looked back at the COO. The teenager looked tired, extremely tired. "When is the last time you had some sleep commander?" S'reena enquired, but before the teenage commander could reply, the Romulan nodded towards the turbolift. "Dismissed commander, and don't return before your next shift start. And you had better not work or I'll set Black on you."
<McCormick>
S'reena turned back to Drew. "They're arming weapons!" she yelled at him, "what are your orders?"

"Believe me, ma'am, the only thing I plan to work on is my appetite, my cleanliness, and my blood shot, heavy eyes. Oh, and you can set Black on me, I wouldn't mind." She said smiling hoping that the commander didn't yell at her for that, but she didn't give her the chance, as she quickly made for the turbolift happy to get away from the bridge. She slouched a bit as she leaned against the turbolift wall. She wondered what she should do first, and comtemplated a nice long shower first, then realized that would only wake her up a little more. She went to her quarters to get ready for bed, and when ready she tucked herself between the sheets.
When she is up again, she takes a quick shower, and goes for some food. She finds several cadets and a couple instructors there as well. She gets some food, and not feeling like company, she takes a seat at an empty table by the window.

OCC: Okay I'm finaly able to post again, I had a couple of problems with, school,parents the dead of my dog well everything is fine now and sorry that I haven't informed you guys sooner about this, but now i'm able to post again.
IC: <tag s'reena>you two have tested our defensive systems when we left dock, what is their status, and will you be able to do your tasks?
<Me, Tyrron> "Our defense systems are in an good state, we can have them althoug it will be come difficult they are a little stronger so it would be come an chalenge, but we are certanly faster so we are able to flee like cowards I suggest that we prepare for an good fight and show them our vengange who do they think they are that they can threaten us!!!" Tyrron said angerly."
Tyrron looked at the commander "Am I allouwed to board their ship and take over? Or are we simply going to blast those alians to blast their ship? Taking over is far more fun thoug."
"Boarding that ship is too dangerous," S'reena snapped. She was in no mood to give explanations about her orders and her motivations behind them. She was extremely tired, and the situation didn't really help improving her mood. That, and the unborn triplets were really starting to press down on her abdomen and her back was killing her. "If they attack us, fire at will. Do not, and I repeat, do not let them come within tractor range. Do you understand Cadet Halrax?"
"Yes Commander, I understand I will keep an close eye on them and when they are closing in I will fire the torpedoes inmediatly, their threath should not be tolereated I...we shall destroy them." Tyrron said angerly and a little dissapointed he wanted to board the alian ship and slaughter them peice by piece but ofcourse he knew the risks, he fought many battle's so he knew the dangers, the risks but he couldn't care it was his life he lived for the trhill of fight of war! he walked away to the nearest chair with an tactical display panel from here he could order every men on this ship to fire their weapons (phasers and torpedoes).
"Every one man your turrets now, If you have not already done that. Aim your weapons on the incoming alian ship don't fire until they are in range and make sure that they come not too close we need to keep them on an safe as possible distance, -over and out-" <tag other who would like to reply>

His instructor responded to his question: "Commander and ma'am in the same sentence, wow I didn't think I would hear that from anyone any time soon. Either I heard wrong, which is likely, or we are both so tired that you said it, and I find it funny. I like the second one better. Nick replied, "It was the second"
Then Comander McCormick spoke again: "Cadet, I need to chat with the captain and first officer." She then got up and went to the center of the bridge.
He merely nodded his head and turned to begin on the report. It was easy yet hard at the same time. It was easy because the only coneivable cause of the probe's destruction was the stresses of the vortex, yet he didn't know what exactly in the vortex caused it to implode. That was the hard part.
He heard his instructor request to go to eat and go to bed, and was gald when she showed confidence in his abilities. *Not that Commander S'Reena would ever realize anything like that.* She was then dismissed, leaving Nick to the station on his own. So he just settled into routine. Which is all that is possible when very tired. Nothing much was necessary to do, though with the ship approaching them, he prepared to pump energy into engines, helm, weapons, and shield. Knowing they all would need it. Now all that was left to do was sit back and wait...

“So, I guess when we back get assigned to a fleet ship,” Hannah said, after they sat down. “I’m going to be sad to leave this ship.”
"Yes, you'll be transfered to a new ship when we get back," Bates responded. "Right after graduation, in fact. Changing ships is always an interesting challenge. And you'll have more responsibilities with your promotions. But both are good for you. Challenges help us grow."
One of the science officers came up to them. "Commander, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a look at my tricorder?" she asked, holding it out. "It's malfunctioning."
Noah sighed. "You know I am off duty, Ensign," he said.
"Oh, sorry," she said looking down a bit. "Should I take it over to Engineering instead?"
"Naw, give it here," he said, and she handed it to him. "So what's the problem?"
"Well, I was scanning some micro-organisms, and it kept saying that each individual one was over a foot long. They're thousandths of an inch."
Noah used it to scan his own hand. "Yes, and according to it my hand is made of polyeurythene." He closed it. "Must be a problem with the isolinear chip inside of it. Take it down to Engineering and ask Lieutenant Bates to look at it," he said, handing it back.
"I will. Thank you Commander," she said, and left.
Noah turned back to the Cadets, and sighed. "Never a dull moment. Anyway, your new assignments will allow you to learn and progress in your careers. Just don't forget the Instructor who started you off, ey?" he said, smiling.

As S’reena continued to yell at him, Drew could feel his awareness of the situation increasing. It was almost as if he had been under a dark cloud for the last few days, and now for the first time everything was becoming much clearer. He just needed time to think, to gather his thoughts.
But he wasn’t getting that time, S’reena continued to shout at him for instructions, it was obvious that whatever was, or had been affecting Drew, was also taking its toll on the pregnant First Officer.
S'reena turned back to Drew. "They're arming weapons!" she yelled at him, "what are your orders?"
Drew thought for a few moments, since the Hanson had started to move away from the vortex, his energy had been returning to him. It was clear the last thing that the Hanson needed was to head backwards to the anomaly.
“Full power to the rear shields,” Drew ordered, finally standing up from his chair, “prepare to fire a full volley of quantum torpedoes on my command.”
“Aye aye sir,” Tyron replied, keying in the commands to his station.
“Cadet Grayson, send the following to the alien ship,” Drew said, now standing straight in the centre of the bridge, “if they do not break off there attack, we will return fire, and we are in a much better shape than they.”
“Understood Admiral,” Grayson answered, and like Tryon he turned his attention to his console.
“Commander,” Drew said, turning around to face a very tired looking S’reena, “do we have warp power yet?”
S’reena paused for a few moments, obviously she like Drew had no idea if the Hanson had regained the ability to travel at the speed of light. With a tired hand she tapped her comm badge.
“Commander Hope to Commander Bates,” she said over the comm channel, “what is the status of the warp drive?”
<Tag Bates and his Cadets>
“If we are going to get out of this, we are going to need warp speed,” Drew said to S’reena, as he turned to once again face the forward viewscreen. The Vortex was getting smaller on the imager, but not fast enough, until the Hanson could break away entirely from this area of space, it was under threat.
Unexpectedly, the bridge shook slightly, causing Drew to have to hold on to the arm of his chair for support, he didn’t need to ask what was happening, he could see it on the viewer. The enemy ship was firing everything she had at the slowly retreating Hanson.
“Mr. Tryon, fire rear side phasers, let them know we mean business.”
“Sir, should we not destroy them?” Tryon asked.
“Not if we can help it,” Drew answered, “I would rather not witness anymore death today.”
Tryon nodded his head in understanding, if not agreement, and set to work arming the Hanson’s powerful weapons. Drew turned to speak again to S’reena, but was surprised to see she was no longer in her chair. Instead she was at the helm station, conferring with Graxten and Whilis. The three of them seemed to be discussing the best way to get the Hanson out of danger.
“Report,” Drew said sternly, as he held onto his chair for support as the bridge shook under the weapons fire of the alien vessel, “and it better be good news.”

Tyrron aimed his weapons at the alian ship, they will not come any closer or it would be there dead. a little more...yes just an little now FIRE!!! he saw some blue flashes and an moment later they pierced through the enemy's shield, great their shield is lowering but it's still not enough we need torpedoes if we want to do some harm. We need them to destroy their shields and after that we can hit them with the phaser cbecause now they are only having an sleight effect.
since the weopons are recharging tyrron had a couple os seconds time. He turned to Admiral Drew. "Admiral, I suggest that we will launch an couple of torpedoes first before we will use our phasers, because now we are only doing some minor damage to their shield and it recharges to fast to do some actual damage. If we can blast their shields away with some fine torpedo hits, we can then use our phasers to damage their hull, this will have more effect if we want to shake them off."

“Commander Hope to Commander Bates,” she said over the comm channel, “what is the status of the warp drive?”
Bates tapped his commbadge. "Commander Bates to Lieutenant Bates. The Bridge called me asking about the status of our warp drive, not knowing that I'm off duty. Answer them, will you?"
----------------------Main Engineering------------------
"No problem, Chief," Lieutenant Bates responded. He checked a few readouts.
"Bridge, this is Lieutenant Bates. Commander Bates is off-duty at the moment. I can give you up to Warp 4, but I'll have to tweak a few settings to give you more. At best, Warp 5."
"We'll take it," S'reena responded. "But keep working on getting us more."
"Yes, Ma'am. Engineering out." He closed the channel. "Parkinson, adjust our warp field to an inverse geometry. That should get us a little more of a warp field."

Nick was busy at his station, transferring power between helm, shields, weapons, and engines, when he heard Tyrron request the use of torpedoes to weaken the shields. *Klingons, always thinking of brute force. Luckily, they're good to have in batter.*
"Sir," he addressed Admiral Drew, "I know weapons are not my expertise. But I would think that instead of using torpedoes to weaken the shields, we should instead use the phasers on a fine beam and high power to pierce a hole in the shields. Then, when they have been pierced, fire as many torpedoes as are necessary into the hole, stopping the phaser fire just in time to allow it to flow smoothly: maximum damage with minimum force."
He waited to see if his idea would be accepted, while simultaneously keeping track of power and messages. *Ah, Engineering needs more power for the warp drive. Guess the holodeck gets shut down...*
He looked up again at the Klingon, *Well, maybe he isn't all that bad. He would be handy in a drinking contest. IF he was on your side of course...*

"No," S'reena called over her shoulder, "don't fire any weapons at them. We are getting the hell out of here, and we're not going to waste any ammunition on this vessel." She turned to Graxen and Whillis. "Best speed to Conqueror," she ordered, and waddled back to her seat.
<Whillis/Graxen>
She grimaced as she reached her seat, and accepted Drew's help to sit down without protest. "Thank you," she muttered at him, then tapped her combadge. "Bridge to engineering, Lieutenant Bates, give us everything you've got. We're being tailed by an enemy vessel and we need to get out of here without starting a fight! Get your cadets to work on getting as much energy towards the engines, take power from wherever you need except sickbay, life support and the bridge!"
<engineering crew>
Without looking up at the marine cadet, she scowled. "Mister Tyrron, we are not a battle cruiser, in Starfleet we try to solve things diplomatically first before calling in the cavalery, do you understand?"
<Tyrron>
Then she sighed, giving Drew a somewhat anxious look. "I need to get to sickbay," she muttered, "this is killing me."

" Yes, Grayson your plan would actually work too it would be an little more difficult because of the timing, first the phasers need more power we can't take it from our shield because this is too important so we need to drain other systems most likely the power of our torpedo launchers and as soon as we have an hole in their shield we need to convert the power back this will give the enemy a little change to repair their shields, but with excellent teamwork and timing this will do actually more damage." He smiled at grayson, I don't know this guy but he sure is good I'm glad we have him around he thought
Tyrron looked up at S'reena and saw that she was already walking away. He sighed, "In order to escape we need to damage them otherwise they will just keep following us...." He said more to his self instead of someone particular.

"Engineering to Commander Bates. We could really use you and the Cadets down here right now, sir," Lieutenant Bates said over the comm system.
"We're on our way," Bates said, and moved his chair back. Shelby and Stevenson were about to head for the door when Bates stopped them. "Hold on. I've got a faster way," he said, pulling out the control PADD for his chair. "Each of you hold on to the back of my chair."
Each of them hesistantly placed their hand on the chair, obviously wondering why. Meanwhile, Bates entered the coordinates for Main Engineering. "Alright, both of you hold on," he said, and pressed the activation key. They rematerialized in Engineering. "Built-in site-to-site transporter," Bates said, looking at the looks of shock on their faces. "Bates, what's the story?" he called over to his Assistant.
"We need to transfer power from wherever we can and transfer to engines. Hope said everything but Bridge, Sickbay, and Life Support."
Bates turned to the Cadets "Shrug it off, we've got work to do," he said when they still just stood there in surprise. "I want you both to focus on drawing power from the non-essentials; holodecks, weapons, everything."
Bates went over to his console. Those systems had a bit more power than they needed at present, anyway. "Engineering to Sickbay. I need you to shut down everything except what you need for basic operation."
<Tag Black>
"Computer, reduce Life Support by 10%. Lower the ambient temperature by 3 degrees, and the oxygen levels to 90%."
"That procedure is outside Starfleet health protocol," came the expected response.
"Engineering override. Authorization Bates Gamma Nine Omicron," he responded. The computer beeped, executed the orders.
