Loskene heard Meylor announce their arrival and Loskene took a deep breath and sighed.
Sonak: I suppose we will have to cut short our little tour for now. Those people down there...if they are alive, that is, need our immediate assistance.
Loskene: Agreed.
Sonak: You may coordinate the efforts here if you like.
Loskene: Certainly. I'm sure Commander Matthew has everything under control.
Loskene opened a channel to the Jefferson.
Loskene: Everyone, Jefferson and Vesuvius crew alike, we have arrived at our destination. We will begin to transport down within 2 hours or so. But we cannot wait any longer than that. All respective teams, please prep yourselves. We have a difficult journey ahead...And I hope that this will go quickly and efficiently. You all know your jobs. Let's get started. End communication.
Sonak: Alright, everyone. It's time. Commodore, I am supposing you scanned the planet?
Loskene: Yes we did. And just as I thought, our sensors were unable to penetrate the atmosphere.
Sonak: We encountered the same problem. If we're going to have any chance of locating them, it will have to be on the ground.
Loskene: I assume that since everyone is paired up with their respective buddy, where does that leave us?
Sonak stood beside Loskene.
Loskene: I thought so. Now lets-
Fox: Sirs, I am recieving a message from Commander Matthew. He says it's urgent.
Loskene: On screen please.
Matthew came up on the screen, looking a bit distressed.
Matthew: Sir, excuse the interruption, but I have some news. It's Semia Cavit.
Loskene: What is it?
Matthew: Well she- ...She is having... (Whispers) contractions.
Sonak: It sounds like it's about the right time...
Loskene: The right time? I think not.
Sonak: Well, for the contractions anyway. Not a good time for our mission though.
Loskene: Commander, is this something worth mentioning?
Sonak: Of course it is, Commodore! This is a great event that is indeed worth noting.
Loskene: Commander Matthew, any idea when she will give birth?
Matthew: The doctors say it could happen any time.
Sonak: Well, I'm heading over. I must see this!
Loskene: Hey wait, she was my XO once, you know!
Loskene and Sonak ran to the turbolift and down into the transporter room.

Somehow, Sonak had feared that this would happen. And only just minutes ago did a message arrive that Semia had been offered the first officer's position on the USS Nevada. Seconds later, they were beamed directly to the readyroom of Commodore Loskene, where Cavit sat panting on the couch, a doctor on each side.
Jatan didn't look the least worried, and neither did Daya, but Sonak took them apart anyway. "She is on time," Sonak said, "that much I know. How is she doing?"
Jatan smiled at her, remembering the last time he had to give birth. "She's doing fine, though if we have to believe her, she doesn't quite like this. She alsmost bit our heads of with her remarks."
Sonak grinned back. "Let me sit with her, while you two concentrate on the baby," she said, then gazed at Loskene, who seemed to be a little at a loss. "Towels," she said, "and the father, Mike Pasek, needs to be informed. I was told he is on this ship." She sat down besides Cavit and grabbed for the Trill's hand. "You are doing fine Semia," she confided, "just a little longer."

ooc: I think it's a good idea to post the beam down buddies:
Commander Martens - Lieutenant Power
Commander Kanz - Ensign Kel
Commander Fox - Commander Matthew
Lieutenant Meylor - AE Winters
Lieutenant Johnson - Commander Reckus <I think both are on sort of LOA?>
Lieutenant Marill is on LOA, Mike Pasek is on LOA >I think?< if either returns they go together
Daya stays behind with Lieutenant Commander Cavit <who is transferring to the Nevada soon>
Commodore Loskene - Commodore Sonak
please note: nobody beams down on the same spot, due to the interference, teams get scattered in a, say, 50km radius. It is up to you who you find first, the archaeological team <preferably alive> or the Trooper team <dead>

Nick sheepishly strode into the transporter room. He looked incredibly uncomfortable under the winter gear and the transportation under his arm looked out of place. He took his place next to Max in the lineup. The transporter operator motioned for the next group to go up. L'Ola stepped past him. She turned and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "You'll be ok, see you down there," she whispered. She stepped up onto the platform and signaled ready, Nicks eyes never leaving her.
Once she'd disapeared he looked down at the board under his arm. He let out a sigh and noticed a stifled giggle. He looked up to see Max puckered up. "Knock it off," Nick said with a swat of one of his unworn gloves, "Don't you have a steak to eat?" This comic routine prompted laughter from Max and the surrounding officers.
"I just ate. I've got a few for when we're down there. That and this," He patted a large metal cylindar, "Can't leave without this baby." This prompted a smile from Nick and he just shook his head.
"You're unbelievable Mr. Power. Well lets get this thing over and done with." The two stepped up on the pad and awaited transport.
The senstation of transport quickly disipated upon arrival. There before him lay a vast field of snow with some rocky out croppings. He pulled out his tricorder and began calibrating it.
"First we need to get our bearings. Say how much steak did you bring anyway?" Silence met him. Nick looked around confused, "Max?" There was nothing in sight, no hole in the snow, no barbeque smoke, nothing, no Max.
He hit his combadge, "Martens to Vesuvius. Did Max beam down with me?" A loud hiss of static came from his comm unit. He deactivated it ~guess I'm gonna have to find him. Must be the interference~
After about half an hour of trudging through the knee deep snow he put on the powered snowboard and activated it. He started it out on a mild setting of speed, gradually amping it up as he became comfortable on it. Off in the distance he noticed a figure. He stopped the board and pulled out his field glass. It definatly wasn't an officer from the ships in orbit ~must be one of the missing~. So he powered up his board once again, it was a long journey ahead to get to the figure.

She started beathing and cussing hard mainly at loskene for letting Mike go on a covert mission. She felt Sonaks hand on her "it's gonna be ok"
Semia only let out a screech "Dammit"
One more push "Sonak said"
"GAAAHHH" Semia shouted
"well i'll be" Jatan said
Semia fell back now that the pain was over *damn i'm gonna be sore* she thought
"It's a girl" Sonak said handing her a bundle and if on cue the baby let out a small wail
"aww" Semia held out her arms to her new baby sonak set her in Semia's arms and Semia peered into the baby's face "She has mikes eyes"
"Cute" Loskene said
"How about you being a god father being cute" Semia said without looking at him
"er-" Loskene started but a nurse came up to him and put a finger on his lips and walked away
"Thank you" Semia said looking at Sonak "you make a fine god mother"
Sonak let a small smle slip "I'm honored"
"Well what about a name?" Jatan said
Semia smiled "Michelle Carla Pasek" she peered down at Michelle her spots that singifyed her trill heritage she kissed her baby's forhead and looked at every one around her "thank you"

Loskene looked around confused.
Loskene: G-Godfather? What...
Sonak: In old times it was an extended member of the family who oversaw the baptism of a baby... Christian custom. It could also mean that if she's busy, you will babysit.
Loskene: What??
Sonak: Shh... At least let her enjoy the moment.
Loskene: Well, looks as if my couch is going to need the services of a good custodian. Anyway, it is interesting... Birth that is. A new journey is about to begin. One that will contribute to the Universal community.
Cavit: That is...very deep, Loskene.
Loskene: I'm just a poet and I don't know it.
Loskene began to chuckle at himself when he noticed that his sentence rhymed. However, everyone else was too busy staring at the new life, rather then listening to the bumbling commodore.
Loskene: So...has the birthing process ended?
Sonak: The cord has been cut so yes, it was successful.
Loskene: Good, maybe now we should be getting down to the planet. A new life here, and people on the planet that are struggling to keep theirs.
Cavit: Always on the job... typical.
Loskene: You know that isn't true.
Cavit: When was the last time you were in the holodeck?
Loskene: Hm...
Cavit: I thought so.
Sonak: Sigh...yes, you are right... It's just too bad, I'd enjoy being able to hold her for a while.

Max had beamed down to the planet. To his surprised, Nick had dissapeared.
"Awesome" He thought to himself because he could eat all the food by himself. But then he realised that he wouldnt have anyone to talk to.
Max jumped on his snowboard and started snowboarding down the hill. He enjoyed snowboarding, one of his favourite past times. Considering he was raised up in the hot african sun, snow boarding was a welcome changed when he arrived in Europe.
Anyways, alone Max contuined snowboarding. He seemed to be enjoying himself, till after an hour or so, he managed to see someone on the distance. Unable to tell who it was, he produced his tri-corder.
"Damn...the athmosphere" he thought to himself as he forgotten that it created interferance. He pulled out his compass, and saw that he had no idea where he was. He decided to head towards this firgure and maybe they could help him. Upon arrive, after a short trip, it was just a statue.
"Hmmm thats not right" Max thought. When he went to touch it, he fell right through. Then it dissapeared.
"O....k" Max thought to himself "Im not crazy. It was just an optical illusion."
Max got back up and started snowboarding again, hoping he could find someone...anyone.

Now that Semia was well settled with her new baby daughter, Loskene tugged her sleeve covertly and astutely said that they were going to be needed down planet. "I quite agree," she answered, there is just one more thing to do. Semia, while you were on the Jefferson, I received word that you are being transferred to the First Officer's position on the USS Nevada. They need you as soon as possible, are you up for the journey? I will send Nurse Mitchell with you, as support on a shuttlecraft. The Nevada will pick you up in transit."
Cavit nodded weakly, but her eyes were shining with happiness.
"I would like to see that you and your daughter, my goddaughter, will arrive safely on your new assignment. Godspeed Semia, and do please keep in touch."
She beckoned the nurse, who had beamed over to assist, then walked towards Loskene. "Let us get back to our job at hand, and beam down," she continued.

Joni whipped her brow with her sleeve. She was pretty much melting in the special protective suite. Okay, so she over repaired, but the other officer / was/ late. Sighing she finally stepped into the room, asking the officer on duty if officer L’Ola had beamed down already. As he confirmed she hung her head.
What was with her today? This was getting bad for her self-esteem… First the commodore, then her… She straightened and smiled, thanking him and asking if he could beam her down to the same spot as he had beamed the other officer to.
“Ah there you are!” Joni smiled at the female officer, walking to her. L’Ola shook out of her thoughts. “Wha—oh yes, what kept you so long?!” She said, her voice her characteristic self. “I-I… Let’s just go…” She sighed and pulled up yet another smile.
As she looked over the prepared and obviously cold woman she realized she really knew absolutely nothing about this woman. That would make for some interesting hours of non-talking. Not that she was in the mood to talk anyway. She shoved her hands in her pockets and looked at the woman.
“Since you were down here already… do you have any idea where to go?” She asked, putting on her best therapy voice. God she was good at covering her feelings…

"What do you mean where to go to? I'm still trying to work out where we are!"
Joni looked confused, "We're at the beam down site aren't we?"
L'Ola shook her head, "Do you see the others? We're miles out. Mind you, it's a coincidence that you arrived here, I've been walking since I beamed down. Only just got here, wherever here is..."
She wasn't feeling too cold, she rarely did, but she was very nervous. And pleased to have finally run into someone else.
"Have you tried your comm badge?"
"Yup, not that I was expecting it to do any good. We couldn't alter them to compensate for interference."
"Oh."
Both of them went quiet again. The reality of the situation was starting to sink in for Joni, and she wasn't too happy about it.
"Well," L'Ola started, "The way I see it we can stay here and wonder what's going on, or we can try to find people, which is after all why we're here.
"Sounds good."
Joni was keeping her feelings well hidden, which would normarily be a welcome attribute in her fellow officer's book, but this wasn't a normal situation.
They started walking, carrying on from L'Ola's previous path.
"So you're a counsellor right? I'll try not to hold it against you."
"That's right."
"Any particular reason why?"
Joni sighed, they were obviously going to be stuck together for a while, so talking would at least pass the time...

Commodore Loskene and Commodore Sonak reached the transporter room and both stepped onto the pad.
Loskene: Are you ready?
Sonak: Yes, I believe so. Energize please.
The transporter technician activated the device and soon, Loskene and Sonak were beamed to the surface, and along with all the other senior officers as well. A beep came from the transporter console. It was the Jefferson, trying to establish contact with the Vesuvius. The tech answered.
Tech: This is the Vesuvius, go ahead.
Jefferson transport tech: Vesuvius, do not, repeat, do not transport anyone!
Vesuvius: ...I'm afraid it's too late... What is wrong?
Jefferson: I was checking the tranport logs and something is wrong with the transporter. For some unusual reason, the atmosphere distorts the transporter coordination relays.
Vesuvius: Which means they could be scattered all over the planet...My god.
The Vesuvius tech worked quickly to see if he still had Loskene and Sonak in the buffer.
Vesuvius: Both Commodores have already beamed down. I no longer have a lock on them.
Jefferson: Every senior officer on the planet...What were they thinking?
Vesuvius: It is a rescue mission of extreme importance. Apparently they need all the men and women they can get. But at what cost...
Meanwhile, on the icy, barren planet...
Loskene beamed down on the surface of some kind of hill. The wind was very strong, and it caused him to shiver.
Loskene: That was a rough beam in... That made me dizzy. Are you okay Commodore...
Loskene looked around him after a moment of silence, and realized that Sonak was nowhere to be found.
Loskene: What the... =^=Loskene to Jefferson, come in!=^=
Static met Loskene as he desperately tried to contact both ships. Apparently something was either wrong with his communicator or something in the atmosphere. Loskene tried to contact other officers on the planet but he got no response from them as well. He finally stopped tapping his communicator and looked around him, trying to figure out where he was. It was some kind of slope, most likely a mountain. He had remembered that he had brought along his NavComputer. It would tell him where he was on the planet and where other life forms were located.
He activated the device but it conked out on him. He sighed and remembered that the device connected with the Jefferson's navigational computer. And since all communications were being blocked, the device failed to work.
Loskene thought "Well... if I could morph into a Rigellian hawk, I could get an excellent view of the area...and maybe even spot some of my colleagues. "
Loskene activated the genetic modifier on his arm and focused his mind on a Rigellian hawk. Alas, Loskene was unable to take the form of a Rigellian hawk.
Loskene began to sigh and say in his head Why won't it respond... oh, I think I know. It's this damn neural drain. I must still be recovering from it...But it's been three and a half days already. I should have recovered by now.
Loskene, frustrated, began to walk angrily through the snow. He was intent on getting to higher ground. Perhaps then, he could get through some of the atmospheric inteference and contact one of the ships. He continued for about 15 minutes when all of a sudden, he began to slip. Surprised, like when one suddenly tips their chair and falls over accidentaly, he slipped on some ice beneath the snow and landed on his back and began to slide down the slope.
Loskene let out a loud, surprised yell and began to slide fast. He desperately tried to find some kind of rock outcropping or grip some kind of surface. Before he knew it, he grasped a small rock outcropping. Loskene sighed with relief. He looked around him and looked down. Below him was a large abyss, a crevasse.
Loskene desperately began to climb up. He was finally able to make it back onto the snow covered surface, and lied down in relief and pain. He had injured his ankle, and tried to stand, only to be met with pain. He remembered that he had brought a medkit along with his inventory.
"Thank goodness for small favors" he thought.

Raiben looked to the icy hills. Lt. Meylor was no where to be seen. Raiben gived a last try on it.
=/\=This is Acting Ensign Raiben Winters, anyone do you hear me=/\= =/\=...in!...=/\=
"Well that was an improvement"he said to himself. He catched the end of a communication. The sound is worser then million musquitoes and he just wished that the men on the line is near him.
Raiben pulled out his tricorder. The device is working. That was a surprize for him though. Raiben started making searchs and scans then suddenly his tricorder died.
"What now?"he asked"Is there no one aboard the ship to take readings..."well he stoped there. That must be his job to take care of away team equipments. "Damn me!" he yelled and soon he heard another yelling. Some kind of desperate one.
Raiben started to move towards the sound. It must be coming from the north he thought, if that is the north.

“The reason? I’m not sure honestly. I tried the medical thing for a while, but found that vomiting people wasn’t for me.” She looked over to see a small smile on the other woman’s lips, soon it was hidden though.
“Since I had always been interested in the way people reacted to emotions and tragic events in their lives I enrolled into psychology after I became a licensed nurse. It really was what I wanted. It gave me a fulfilment to know I could help people that were so troubled that they saw no way out anymore. One of my previous hosts, Alicia, had a lot of dealing with psychologists before she was joined. It helped her greatly.” She carefully trotted the snow, knowing every misstep could cause her, or the other woman’s death.
“And then you joined the Jefferson.” L’Ola concluded.
“Sort of. Some of my teachers pushed me to first study a bit more. They told me that the best time to learn was in the academy, because when you started to serve aboard a vessel, you didn’t want to go back. They were right.” She grinned.
“So I took a few additional classes, Interspecies Mediating and Interspecies Negotiating. I loved them both and passed without much difficulty. /Then/ I joined the Jefferson.”
“Interesting. Still, I can’t understand why you would want to do something like that.” The other officer spoke.
“Ah well, You gotta do something.” She eventually answered, smiling. She loved what she did. She really did.
“And how about you? Why this avenue?” She proceeded to ask. As she asked the question she looked up to the woman, momentarily not watching where she put her feet. Before she knew it the ground beneath her feet gave out with a loud – crack- and she fell. Gripping above her she could find no solid ground. Only a second later though she felt something yank her arm. Looking up she saw L’Ola had managed to drop down and grab her arm before she fell to her death. She looked below her, panting in terror. A deep dark crack ran down. She had no doubt she could have been dead by now.
“Climb… up…” she heard above her. The sound pronounced to grinded teeth due to the strain. She didn’t need to be told twice. A hard struggle finally ended when she flopped herself down on the cold snow, biting back tears of terror and relieve.
“Thank you…” She panted. “I owe you… my life…”

Sonak felt herself dematerialize and steeled herself for the stinging cold winds of the planet down below. Just as she materialized, she found herself on a sheet of ice and her feet slipped from under her. She landed flat on her back and the wind got knocked out of her. Laying there for a long moment, catching her breath, she carefully looked around. She had beamed in on the edge of a frozen lake it seemed, and to her left there were tall mountains, oversnowed. On one of the crevases she could see a tiny figure clambering his or her way back up. It was so far away that even her sharp vision could not pick out who it was.
"Loskene, are you all right?" she asked softly, as soon as she could breathe normally again. She sat up and rubbed the back of her head gingerly, as she gazed around for her partner. "Loskene?"
She got to her feet and checked that her backpack contents were still in one piece. After verifying that they were, she checked her insulation suit and parka over for tears or other damage, but found none. She had a headache, and the glare of the ice was blinding her, but at present she found it unnecessary to put on her ice-mask. Soon her vision would adapt, as being born of a desert people, her genetic make-up also could handle desert sun glares. And indeed after several minutes her eyes compensated for the glare and she could see normally again. She knew, however, that as soon as it got dark she would have a problem; having been blinded on an away mission once, it had left her with night blindness. "I have to find shelter," she murmured, "and I have to get up onto that crevasse to see who was there."
After hours of ploughing through the snow, and slipping several times, landing herself feet deep in the 'Tiefsnee' she arrived at the bottom of the cliff. "How fortunate that I like climbing," she said to herself, and prepared to climb. Another two hours later, just before sunset, she arrived on the crevasse and found Loskene sitting there, a painful expression on his face.
"I am glad to have found you again," she said softly, and was met by his startled gaze, "you have no idea what I have gone through to get up here." She wiped her face and pulled the hood of her parka closer, shivering with the cold. "The exercise was good, but now that I stand still I am freezing!" she continued, "can you stand? We must find shelter before it gets dark, or you will have not much use of me. I cannot see in the darkness." She helped the other commodore to his feet, after making sure that the ankle was bandaged and properly insulated against the cold.

"You're welcome, any time you need catching give me a call." She grinned, trying to hide the fact that she'd been completely panicked. "I guess this place really is as dangerous as it looks."
Joni smiled, before wincing and grabbing her ankle. L'Ola pulled out a medical tricorder. "Looks like you jolted your ankle when you fell through. Oh and apparently I yanked your arm a little too hard, it might be sore in the morning."
"I think I can live with it."
"Well your ankle's definitely not broken. Can you stand up on it?"
Slowly Joni stood up, she was quite relieved to find that she could.
"That's good news. I don't think we can stay here much longer, we need to keep moving. Do you want to take anything for the pain?"
She shook her head, "Can't. Allergic to painkillers. I'll have to deal with it."
The two of them started moving again, both checking carefully before making each step.
"In answer to your question, I'm here because I love science. My family put a big emphasis on knowledge, mainly because when I arrived with them I didn't know a lot. They taught me things in an interesting way. And it made me interested in learning more."
"Weren't you interested in doing research?"
L'Ola shrugged, "I liked the idea of travelling, and it's definitely been the right decision."
They walked in silence for a few minutes, while Joni tried to work out how to say something.
"So you grew up in more than one family then?"
"And the counsellor in you appears." Came the reply, an unsurprised grin on her face. "Yes I did. Are you wanting someone to psychoanalyse to take your mind off the situation?"

"Damn me!" Raiben yelled and soon he heard another yelling. Some kind of desperate one.
Raiben started to move towards the sound. It must be coming from the north he thought, if that is the north.
<meanwhile, some distance away>
Meylor blinked a few times as the sparkle of the transporter beam faded and his eyes started to adjust to his new surroundings. All around him, steep canyons towered into the shining sky, imposing caverns yawned, and what appeared to be outcroppings of ice gleamed. But his partner, Ensign Winters, was nowhere to be found. As he checked his tricorder for readings on the environment, however, the device abruptly lost power, making it useless for that purpose. Taking out his pair of scanner glasses, Meylor slipped them on and walked towards one of the ice outcroppings. He also checked his communicator and confirmed a suspicion he'd had before even beaming down: that wouldn't function here either. Undeterred, he extracted a small device from a pocket, and plugged it into his communicator; it was a custom-designed interplexing beacon emitter, which should allow his communicator to be detected even through most known forms of interference or jamming. No two-way communication was possible, but at least he could theoretically be detected by someone looking for him.
Approaching the outcropping, Meylor adjusted the filters on his scanner glasses to get a better look at the composition of the ice crystals. Fortunately, his glasses were still functioning, and Meylor suspected that was because they were passive scanners, emitting no energy field as the tricorder or the communicator did. As the information appeared on the display, however, Meylor quickly realized that the `ice` was really nothing of the kind. These crystals were clearly some kind of element, and from what he could tell by the molecular structure, it sure looked like thallium. From their mission briefing, Meylor knew this could be a danger down here; thallium was known for emitting unhealthy levels of radiation. If the science teams or the troopers were among this stuff, they could be in distress indeed.
Meylor scruntinized all around him, and realized that this gorge was filled with heavy concentrations of thallium. Suddenly, he realized just what a predicament he was in. This much thallium could well be lethal to most humanoids, and Meylor's immune system was particular susceptible to radiation poisoning, due to his bout of Orkett's disease (a blood disorder) in childhood. As something approaching panic began to rise in him, Meylor began to make his way out of this gogre to higher terrain. Before he got very far however, he stumbled across a rock, and fell flat on his face. As he rose in frustration, he soon saw that it was no rock he had tripped on; it was a man's body. A frantic yell escaped his lips before he could calm down. Covered in a sheath of ice and only half-exposed above the permafrost, it was clearly a human being, wearing a grey and white Federation survey uniform....

Loskene began to stand up again, sighing deeply, his breath came out like a smoking chimney.
Sonak: You seem cold.
Loskene: I am fine. Believe it or not, I have been too a place nearly as cold as this...
Sonak: Oh, really? And...where would that be?
Loskene: Kamchatka peninsula, Siberia on Earth. I was doing an assignment in the academy, endurance/survival training. I was stationed at a remote base in an small, outlying city called Kirovskiy. From there, I was forced to spend a week in the mountains. It was cold, dark, and it was one place that really saddened me. The only trees there were barren, baring no fir or leaves. Just large branches. I was surprised that anything could survive there.
Sonak: It does not sound like an ideal place to make a home.
Loskene: No, it wasn't.
Sonak: I'm sure you transformed into a large furry grizzly bear and had an easy journey.
Loskene: Actually, no. I did not really feel right to... "Cheat" is the word I'm looking for, I suppose. So I just kept to tradition. I-.... oh no...
Loskene and Sonak looked into the sky. Storm clouds were quickly forming and the wind got unbearibly cold.
Loskene: We got to find some kind of shelter!
Sonak: Maybe... perhaps some kind of cave?
Loskene: I don't know!
A huge snowstorm suddenly appeared. Within the span of 5 minutes, snow and wind blocked visiblity.
Loskene could not see an inch in front of him.
Loskene: Sonak! Sonak, can you hear me?!
The wind was incredibly loud, and Loskene doubt that she could hear him. He even had trouble hearing himself.
Loskene: Damn it... This can't be good.
Loskene began to walk, not seeing where he was going. He suddenly felt himself yet again slipping on ice. Loskene was in despare, he didn't even see where he was tripping, but he knew that he was falling somewhere. Eventually, Loskene knew he had stopped because his body collided with some kind of large rock, possibly a bolder. Still not being able to see a thing, Loskene lay there, and he knew that he would not get out of this situation as easily as before.
Loskene: I'm... agh! Help! Some-..oh.. ugh. HELP! Sonak! Sonak...can you....*cough* hear me?! Argh...This...this is...no... Joni...Joni...I'm sorry...Please be ok...Everyone...please....please be ok...
Loskene soon passed out from the unbearable pain...

Nick continued towards the figure he'd seen earlier. Only as it drew nearer it began to look less and less like a figure. Instead it began to look closer to a sensor array. It jutted at an angle out of the snow. He looked around and realised that he was standing in a "ravine", if you could call it that, left from the ships impact. He stepped off his board and began running towards the exposed part of the ship.
Nick pulled out his tricorder and began looking for an entrance of some sort, as a storm was fast aproaching. Quickly he found one, pryed it open and climbed into the ship. Thinking he was going to fall down the shaft of the hallway he grasped the beams on the wall but found himself pulled towards the decking.
"Odd, main power must still be on in some capacity," he muttered. He stood up, brushed some snow off his face and closed the hatch behind him. The corridor around him was dark save the glow of his face mask and tricorder. He located a terminal and tapped in.
"Hmm, need to get to the bridge to turn on the lights. Seems everything's been locked out eccept the bridge." He pulled out a flash light from his pack and turned it on. The bridge according to the computer was a couple decks away. So he began to make his way.
Along the way he noted the ship he was on wasn't the one the crew was looking for. In fact it was a completely different class, Andorian maybe. Never the less as he traveled the corridors showed signs of a battle, scorch marks and debris lay strewn around. He tripped over something and landed on his face. Looking up he met a corpse face to face.
He struggled back slightly paniced. The body lay impaled to the floor by a beam. Yet the beam hadn't fallen. Feeling suddenly aware that something was watching him he whirled about and shone his light around the area but saw nothing. He started on a quicker pace towards the bridge section.
In the corner of his eye he noticed a flash of blue energy transfer between the bulkheads. Only once had he seen that type of energy, and once was all he ever wanted to see it. Talh'knal, imprisioned by Calamarain he'd become a vengfull creature bent on destruction of anything in his way. The Vesuvius-A had encountered him on their maiden voyage and the results weren't the best. He'd possessed the engineer and nearly killed each and every member of the crew.
He reached the doors to the bridge and forced them open. He stepped inside and made his way to the engineering station. Feverantly he began working to get lights back on to stay this feeling of being watched. Something brushed against his arm making him jump and swing around wildly, in turn it was just a piece of insulation falling from the cieling.
"Yes! Lights are on." He said with a bit of joy knowing that the dark was gone. He turned around to survey the bridge and a grizzly sight met him. All over the bridge was blood. Various crew members were brutally killed at their posts. One lay a gaping gash across his forehead, severing his anntenea, another had a large phaser burn in the chest. Each person had one thing in common, their eyes were open.
"You thought you'd rid yourself of me, didn't you," a harsh voice whispered. Suddenly all the lights went out.

Gusts of wind tore at her parka, as she tried to keep Loskene in her sight. From one second to another, the clear visibility had gone to zero, and she had lost her handhold on Loskene, whom she had been supporting until then. She could hear her name being yelled over the storm, but she could not determine where it came from. Shivering against the extreme sudden cold, she ploughed forward in the now knee deep snow.
An anguished cry made her stop, and she stood listening for a moment. Had it really been a cry, or had she just heard the wind howling in the mountains? She shrugged and pulled out her tricorder, but to her utter dismay she found the controls being frozen; the device was useless now. All around her, snow was falling down, and she could not see where she was going. However, against better judgement, she trudged on, not wanting to be caught out like this for long.
After a long while, she tripped over something and was sent sprawling headlong into the loose snow. She shook her head and wiped the snow out of her eyes, thinking that now maybe was a good time to start putting her mask to good use. When she tried to find her way back to see who or what she had tripped over, she could not determine which way to go. At last, she found herself standing in front of a smallish and rather tight cave. She shuddered and knew she was facing a dilemma. She now had the choice to either stay out in the freezing cold, or find some shelter in the cave and risk getting a claustrophobic attack.
It was as if fate decided to make the choice for her. A strong gust of wind lifted her clear off her feet and slammed her into the further wall of the cave. She grunted as her body made hard contact with the cave wall and she slid down to the floor. Opening her eyes, she was met by the sightless gaze of a person and she gave a startled cry. The arctic camo pattern on the man's uniform told her that this was a member of the lost trooper team. She scrambled to her feet, and to her horror she saw that she was caved in, as the wind had knocked down the overhanging rock of ice, which had fallend down in front of the cave entrance.
~at least it keeps the wind out~ she told herself, fighting down her panic. To keep her mind off her fear, she decided to inspect the frozen corpse, and soon found that he was carrying an old style vox system. To her delight, he also carried a manual for the system. Further inspection told her that the older man was human, about 50 years of age and had held the rank of major. ~if this is a major, and a vox officer, who then was the commander and how did this officer get separated?~ she wondered, then mused that he must have gotten separated the same way she did. Fortunately for her, she got off without injury save some bruises. This man had broken his neck when he was slammed into the wall.
~Loskene where are you~ she thought, knowing the other commodore was a telepath, and focused on contacting him. Soon, she was too exhausted and overcome by fear as she once more realized she was caved in...with a dead man.
ooc: if someone can find a live scientist that would be good.....and another vox? (old style army communications system)

“It would help…” Joni honestly admitted, but smiled. “I apologise.” She then said.
“It’s okay.” Came the dull reply.
“Not just about this, also about my reaction towards you when I beamed down. It’s been a rather bad day for social contact I’m afraid.” She added.
The woman next to her eyes her curiously. “And how is that?”
“Just some plans with the commodore that fell though and then you were already—” She stopped. An odd, sharp pain ran though her back, knocking the breath out of her for a moment. She blinked a tear out of her eyes as she crouched down, rubbing the sensitive spot.
“What’s wrong? Did I miss that spot when scanning you?” The mildly worried reply came, the beeping of a tricorder soon next. “I see nothing wrong with your back.”
“It… it’s gone now… It just… happened, suddenly… That was rather weird…” She said as she stood again. Indeed, the pain in her back was gone. Only her ankle and shoulder hurt, but that was nothing to the pain that had overtaken her for a moment there.
“Let’s just keep moving, we need to find a place to spend the night.” She eventually said, looking around. “Maybe in those hills?” She asked, pointing to a spot an hour walk away. L’Ola nodded and started walking.
Now even deeper in thought Joni was worried. Something or someone had send her that. And that person was in a lot of pain. It was weird though… She wasn’t telepathic, sensitive, yes, but not telepathic… She shook the feeling of upcoming dread from her and relaxed into a more familiar role for the moment.
“Please don’t feel obligated to answer any questions. I am merely curious… May I ask why you switched homes?”

“Commander fox” beamed down to the given coordinates fully ready to begin the first phase of the Search mission.” The Atmosphere appeared to be thick and misty but breathable. There were large rock formations all around them with narrow corridors leading off each side. “Cmdr Matthew “ welcome Commander fox. “Cmdr, Matthew >" Ok, we need to move out in 20 seconds, Chief, Mawkish is a 100 years Ahead of us now we will need to do a Quick recon of this area.
I know that we All have some recon trained but I understand that Cmdr Fox is an expert in recon so Commander your In charge" The Cmdr, Fox looked up and around at the rock formations.
It was difficult to see more than twenty five yards in the swirling mist. Ensign Darning> "lock in your tri-corders and set them to stealth mode. we will operate in 3 units of 12. Cmdr, Matthew you are with me, I need you to help me co-ordinate this unit while I co-ordinate the Search Team."
“Commander ,Fox gave out his orders and the Away Team moved out. The forward unit was lead by the Cmdr, Fox and the rest followed.
Enroot the blue illumination of a transporter beam came ahead of them and to everyone’s relief Chief Mawkish had arrived.
Cmdr< Matthew > "Are you fit Chief?" The Chief nodded and took control of the unit covering the rear.
After a 45 minute march they had arrived just within 50 yards of there Assigned search zone and the Cmdr Fox turned to chief Mawkish with a look of determination. " Do your stuff Chief , I want a full recon of the area pick two Security officers” I would like Cmdr, Matthew to be at your side.

ooc: a little more extended version on my beaming down.
As everyone was notified that they had arrived and that everyone had to make her/himself ready for beam down. Being in his quarters, sitting in a chair, reading a book at that particulair time, it startled him a little, being unaware that they were already so far.
He jumped up from his chair, throwing the book aside and went as quickly as possible to a closet, getting the special uniform for artic atmospheres. He started to get changed, but had some trouble getting the uniform on. He almost fell while doing so, but could grab hold on a chair preventing him from falling.
On his way out, heading to the transporter room he grabbed a pad he got earlier. It contained some last mission details, including the officers he would tag along with. On his way he tried to contact Cmdr Matthew, but heard he already had beamed down. Still reading the pad he entered the transporter room.
Fox greeted the transpoter chief, handing him a pad. "Beam me down to those coordinates." he said "Cmdr Matthew, should be around there." "Aye. Sir" the chief answered.
Fox walked onto the platform, carring some equipment he picked up with him. "Ready when you are." the transporter chief said. Fox knodded. "Energize." As soon as Fox had said that the officer moves his hands over the console in front of him. A blue glow appeared around Fox and the equipment, a moment later he and the stuff were gone.
Due to the disturbance of the storm raging below, the transporter chief wasnt able to get Fox at the exact coordinates Fox had giving to him. The resulted in that Fox landed a few miles away from Cmdr Matthew.
<On the surface> A blue glow appear and Fox started to materialize. As soon as the blue glow disappeared Fox looked arround, still seeing some big white animal fade away in the storm around him. {Must been scared of what he saw} Fox thought. At that same moment a chill ran over his spine, realizing how cold it was.
He took his tricorder, scanning the area, noticing that he wasnt near the spot Cmdr Matthew had landed. Using his tricorder he quickly found which direction he needed to go to find Matthew. Then he put the device back in his pocket, put up the collar of his jacket and started to walk into that direction. Once in a while taking he tricorder out again to affirm he was still going in the right direction.
After a walk of a few miles throught the snow he finally picked up the life signs of Matthew and the rest of the away team. Not much later he greeted every member and told shortly why he was so late at the landing site.

Loskene lay there, on the ground, completely motionless. He knew he was alive, because he was able to open his eyes. Things had calmed down on the surface. The storm that once was was gone, replaced by a mild wind, yet still strong and cold enough to send the warmest creature to it's death.
Loskene had a terrible headache. He was unfortunate enough to still be stricken by the neural drain. With great pain, he stood on his knees, and slowly rose to his feet. He walked around awkwardly, and then he found something...Something shiny and glittering in the distance. With deep curiousity, Loskene headed towards the shimmering light. When he had finally approached it, he noticed that it was a frozen lake. It must have been frozen for ages, because a thick layer of ice covered it. He looked into the lake, the distant sun reflecting off of it. In the lake he saw something, it was a man.
Loskene squinted to try to make out who it was. He finally realized that it was nothing more than his reflection. He sighed in relief. But something was wrong. He saw the reflection move, as if it were a seperate entity, staring him in the face.
Loskene: What...
The reflection began to move about and grinned.
Loskene: What...is this...
The reflection began to speak.
Loskene... You are in great pain. I can feel it. I know your pain.
Loskene: Who are you?...No...this can't be real...
Who I am is not important. Come closer, Loskene. I have been waiting for you. We can leave this place. We can be back home again! Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Loskene: What is going on..... This... I must be dreaming.
Loskene, we must leave this place. If we don't, we will die. Do you understand?
Loskene: I must be hallucinating. Yes...something brought on by my ailment. The damage to my telepathic lobe must be worse then the doctor thought... Without proper nueral energy, I will lose control...
No, you are in good health, Loskene. For now anyway. But it won't be that way for long. Delay any longer and you will be too fargone.
Loskene: I...don't have time for this...This isn't real...
You know I exist. Your words sound hollow as you speak them. I can help you, Loskene. We will help each other. We can both leave, and live our lives to the fullest. I can help you.
Loskene: You...you cannot help me. This--this isn't real.
I can help you. You must trust me. You are fading Loskene. You are falling into a deep dark chasm. But I can get you out!
Loskene: What are you talking about?!
You lied to your fellow officer. You surely are becoming to fargone.
Loskene: Lied? I did not lie!
Don't be a fool! You know you lied! You are a liar!! Your academy mission. You never completed it! You knew survival was bleak. You knew that if you didn't act, you'd be dead on that lonely mountain in Siberia. You, Loskene, escaped with your life. You altered shape into an eagle and flew down to the ground. You saved your own life.
Loskene: I...I....Should have died on that mountain! I was a fool. I did not earn it! I..I..I... should not be here. I am disgraced.
No, Loskene. You did what all beings do. You survived. What greater purpose is there? Do not be ashamed. Be grateful that you perservered.
Loskene: I was a coward...
Maybe in the eyes of others you would be viewed that way, but you know that isn't true. You are not cowardly! I can help you Loskene...I can help you regain what you thought you lost. You can be free of guilt. We can start anew. I promise to relieve you of your guilt...But you must listen carefully. If you fail, you will certainly die and live forever with your guilt. I know what must be done to avoid this. Are you listening?
Loskene: I... should have...
Are you listening?! I need your full attention! In order to escape this place, you must follow my instructions...
Loskene: Your...instructions.....?
...Very carefully. In order to escape this place, you will be required to cleanse yourself. You will need to spill the blood...of another. It will free you.... All you need to do, is to...
Loskene: ...Spill blood..
Yes!! Now you truly understand! Once this is done, I will be waiting for you! We will get out of here and start-
Loskene: A clean life...
You are a very intelligent being, Loskene. You know what must be done. I await you!
Loskene: Spill...blood....
The reflection dissapeared and Loskene stood up. He began to breathe deeply, feeling a surge of energy within him. He began to grin and laugh. He ran off into the distance. Life was now at stake....

OOC: rewriting plot of me and matthew a little.
As the team was finally together they started to explore the area. It seemed they were near a mountain, because the path they were following was going up a little.
Finally they had reached the mountain. A path led further up. They followed the path, security officers in front, Fox and Matthew covering the tail of the group. Slowly the path grew smaller and smaller, with on one side the mountain and on the other side a ravine.
As they went on the storm got worse. Lightning bolt and thunders could be seen and heard, when suddenly far above them lightning hit the ground, which started an avalanche. Everyone got out their skiing gear and started skiing/snowboarding down.
Fox and Matthew managed to keep ahead of it, but the other officer were caught by it. Finally coming to the base of the mountain the avalanche was no longer pusuing the XO's.
They both looked back and saw none of the other officers had survived their journey down. "They were brave officer, who gave their lifes to rescue others." Fox said taking a pad to record who had fallen during the ride. Matthew nodded "But we must go on, to finish this mission." matthew continued. Fox agreed.
Both officers took off their skiing gear and continued to explore the area carefully not forgetting what just had happened.
OOC: had be brought to me that no NPC's were allowed so now only Matthew and me are left.
