"Lieutenant Holland at your disposal, sir." He paused"May I suggest we make a move as quickly as possible, time may be of the essence." Tiana looked up, she felt that she was going to like Lt Holland.
A while later and bits and pieces of focusing array were starting to accumulate. Things were going well; well, as well as possible when there was a star about to go nova on their back door step. She was by now impressed with Lt Holland and made a mental note to put a note on his file later.
She was looking forward to seeing this idea through although part of her stomach was flipping, it had been a while since she had been out in zero-g. She had done a lot of work in low gravity environments while studying but that had been before she had left home. Fortunately she had never been space sick and had always been competent at handling complicated procedures in low gravity. Of course she'd never done anything this complicated with such a tight time constraint.
=/\=Wong to Commander Galwyn, is there anything I can be helping with=/\=
Tiana raised her eyebrows surprised at the question. =/\=I'm not sure=/\= she replied honestly =/\=We're nearly ready to take a stroll outside and rig a graviton focussing array over the main deflector.=/\=
=/\=I'm fully zero-g trained Commander, and I have field engineering skills. Would you mind if I came along for the ride? And for your protection incidentally=/\=
Tiana smiled, wondering what dangers Colonel Wong thought they might encounter. Then again, as a marine, he was professionally paranoid. =/\=Another pair of hands would be very useful, so I wouldn't mind. We're currently working just outside deflector control. I'll fill you in when you arrive=/\=

Teal: Blakus Green: Holland
Blakus often thought that if something was to go wrong, he should be at the fore-front of the action, but that was not where he was now. He cursed his irrational fear of zero-grav., it was such a limiting factor in a situation like this. "Lieutenant Mattheson, if something goes wrong with the Nav Deflector while our people are out there, I want to be the first to know." Of course Mattheson already knew this, but Blakus didn't see any harm in reminding him of it. Besides, it put his mind at ease knowing exactly what was going on.
"Yes sir." Mattheson replied anyway.
"Thank you Lieutenant."
Blakus shut his eyes and listened to the soft beeping of the consoles around him, and the periodic thrumming of the warp core, praying that nothing was going to go wrong. If anything did, he would have wanted to be there, and the fact that he wasn't there, would frustrate him, very much. Oddly for Blakus, he found himself thinking of his birthplace, Rome, on Earth.
Lt. Holland attached the gloves to his EVA suit, they were almost ready to go, all five of them had their suits on, minus the helmets. The last of the parts needed for the Graviton Pulse Sequencer arrived, "Just put them down there Crewmen," Holland ordered as a couple of technicians came into the room just outside the airlock.
Holland was feeling calm, very calm. This kind of thing was not a problem for him. He wondered if the Chief had some sort of phobia regarding it. These thoughts on others' fears led him to look around the room at people, his eyes settled on Commander Galwyn, who seemed to be just slightly nervous. "Are you OK sir?" he asked.
<Tag Tiana>
Holland felt like he needed to reassure people, if the job was not done properly because of tension and nerves, things could go wrong, very wrong. Then he found himself looking at Colonel Wong, he did find it a bit odd that a marine was accompanying them, but on the other hand they did need as many hands as they could get. "Ready Colonel?" He found himself asking as he picked up a piece of equipment.
<Tag Wong>
They donned their helmets and the junior science officer up ahead of Holland pressed the button, the door to the airlock rolled back with a hiss...

=/\=I'll meet you at the airlock Commander=/\= Tiberian answered, setting off from his present location for the armoury.
Whilst it was highly unlikely that anything potentially untoward could happen whilst they were out on the deflector, Tiberian thought it would be better to be safe than dead. Upon entering he moved to a weapons locker and removed one of the two advanced pulse phaser rifles stored aboard the ship. It was a hefty weapon, much larger than the standard issue phaser rifles, and packing more of a punch. He armed the rifle and checked the power output, ensuring that it was at maximum. Hooking a sling through the arm guard, he slung the weapon over his shoulder and moved down to the airlock.
He reminisced as he walked, thinking about the zero-g practice simulations he had taken part in back in the academy. Whilst he had come high in his class, it did not necessarily mean that he had enjoyed the exercises, or that he was particularly competent at wandering around in a vaccum. Nonetheless, it was his duty to ensure the safety of the other emembers of staff, no matter how unpleasant an experience it may be. Arriving in the anteroom, he donned the bulky EVA suit, checking all the controls and ensuring that the entirety of the suit was airtight. He moved into the airlock, greeted by Holland, Galwyn and a member of the science staff.
"Ready Colonel?" Holland asked.
"Well if not, it's a bit late to say so now" Tiberian smiled as he donned his helmet, the internal light coming on "Let's get this over with"
The airlock hissed open and the team stepped out, their magnetic boots clunking against the hull of the Victory as they moved. The progress to the defelctor was slow, but they eventually arrived and set to work.
"I'll disengage the maglock cycle so you can begin installing the sequencer if you like" Tiberian said, releasing the cable for the magnetic sled he had been pulling, where all the components floated safely within the constraints of a forcefield.
<TAG Galwyn/Blakus>
Tiberian walked away from the group towards the edge of the deflector dish, and knelt beside the first maglock interface. The sequence was relatively easy to complete, and within a minute he had disengaged the isomagnetic constrictors. He set off again, moving around to the second interface, again which he completed within a mere minute of two. He then moved around to the third and final interface, which held the control for the primary sealing catches. He pressed the release button, but the interface panel was not revealed. Tiberian pressed it again and again, but still to no avail. He swung the phaser rifle off his shoulder and set the confinement beam to as narrow as the weapon was capable of going and fired, shearing off a section of the hatch. Re-shouldering his rifle, he pried the hatch open the remainder of the way, only to see that the screen was blank and the circuitry dark and acrid in appearance. He tapped the panel, and then banged it with his fist when nothing happened. He attempted reslotting the isolinear chips, but again no difference was made. He tapped his suit's communications unit.
=/\=I think we may have a problem people. I can't get the final sequence to disengage so we can install the sequencer. It looks like the EMP fried the circuitry, so I can't even do a manual override. Does anyone have any bright ideas?"

It had been a tricky job but the graviton focusing array was finished, it even had the necessary anti-chroniton emitter. It wasn't an elegant device but Tiana was sure that it would do the job. She was very please with what they had so far accomplished, the hard work still had to be done. Tiana, Colonel Wong, Lt Holland and Martha were at the air lock. Tiana was feeling twitchy, this was going to be a tricky job, and there were a lot of things that could potentially go wrong.
"Are you OK sir?" Lt. Holland asked. Tiana smiled, somewhat faintly. "I'm fine, just hoping this all works as it's supposed to."
"Martha, can you get down to engineering and co-ordinate from there, they'll need updating on the final plans and we might need someone to reroute power quickly." Martha nodded and headed away from the trio clutching Tiana's PADD of plans.
Tiana watched her go for a moment and then suited up. The airlock hissed open and the team stepped out, their magnetic boots clunking against the hull of the Victory as they moved. The progress to the deflector was slow, but they eventually arrived and set to work.
=/\=I'll disengage the maglock cycle so you can begin installing the sequencer if you like=/\= Tiberian said
Tiana nodded, =/\=We'll start connecting the components together.=/\= She and Lieutenant Holland set to work.
=/\=I think we may have a problem people. I can't get the final sequence to disengage so we can install the sequencer. It looks like the EMP fried the circuitry, so I can't even do a manual override. Does anyone have any bright ideas?=/\=
Tiana cursed at the Colonel's word's she knew she should have thought of that. =/\=We only really need two points for the attachment so I think we can work around that. As to powering it...=/\= she drew the tricorder from the pouch on the side of her suit and walked over to where the Colonel stood. =/\=There's a small power conduit here that we might be able to tap into. What do you think?=/\= she asked

Martha was quite relieved that she hadn't been asked to go outside. She was qualified for zero-g work but a touch of claustrophobia had always made her feel less than comfortable in a suit. She made it down to main engineering and stared around for a second, it was a huge space and full of activity, hardly a surprise given the amount of damage the Vic had taken. She located Lieutenant Blakus "Crewman Martha Hernandez, sir" She introduced herself formally, "Commander Galwyn sent me down to co-ordinate things and monitor the deflector power flow." She paused for a moment."I've also got the final plans for the focusing array." She tried not to fidget too much as the CEO looked at her.

On the bridge Lieutenant Liam Palmer was still manning the science station. He was doing his best to keep on top of everything but the start was fluctuating, at the moment it seemed regular and was only a small fluctuation anyway. It was, however, more than enough to make him nervous. If he had realised what the changes he had seen in the star meant then perhaps they could have put full shields up and then the ship would not be damaged. He sighed quietly as he worked. Rationally he knew that the star suddenly heading for collapse hadn't been one of the things he had been looking for. He wasn't going to miss another strange occurance...

"What do you think?"
The CScO turned her attention towards Lt. Holland. At least, she did her best to show that her attention had switched. It was always difficult to show body language in zero-g, especially considering they were wearing bulky EVA suits. "I think it sounds like a good plan" Holland said over the intercom, "Although we will have to see if the conduit is fried or not, like most of the ship's external systems are." The three of them stood swaying about on the hull in silence for a few moments, the sound of nothing but their own unsteady breathing was eerie.
"Well let's give it a go." Holland decided over the two senior officers. There was no other option currently on the table. Holland quickly located the complex power adapter on the Graviton Pulse assembly and, with difficulty, connected it to the power conduit's end socket. "Hopefully the power can be modulated enough to give enough to the device," Holland said to himself in his helmet.
After activating the device and observing that it did indeed work with the small power conduit, the three proceeded on to beginning the arduous task of attaching the whole array to the deflector, using just two of the ports of course... Despite Holland's total lack of fear of where he was, he still felt grateful that he had something to concentrate on which involved looking down. He didn't much want to look up, it might make him sick.
"OK let's run over this one more time," Blakus said with a large sigh, "The predicted overload of the impulse engines, will supply the deflector with extra gravitons, 'which' are unnecessary for Tiana's plan-"
"Crewman Martha Hernandez, sir" Blakus jumped a little. He and Ensign Bligh had been going over the details of their little idea for the last half-hour over and over again. Now the CEO was confronted by the scientist he'd met earlier in Deflector Control. "Commander Galwyn sent me down to co-ordinate things and monitor the deflector power flow." Hernandez said, "I've also got the final plans for the focusing array."
Blakus had reluctantly looked away from his work and turned to face her as she spoke. She doesn't look entirely comfortable... he thought, Oh well. "Thank you crewman," he said to her as he took the padd she was offering, presumbably containing the data on the focussing array. He looked over it briefly, and found a couple of things that he did not already know, but nothing of strict importance.
"Feel free to monitor the deflector's power and the beam it generates, if, and when it generates... from over there." Blakus suggested to Hernandez and pointed to a station around the corner from the 'pool table'. "We can always use an extra pair of hands," he added. He mustered up a smile and offered it to her, She looks a bit uneasy as it is, no use making things worse for her.. he thought.
Despite trying to make an effort for the new arrival, Blakus still felt too tired out to do it properly. He knew it was an unfair attitude and dreaded to think about how it was viewed, but he found himself in the unfortunate position of being too tired to treat people with the fullest of respect. The young engineer rubbed his eyes and stumbled off towards his office again, to confer with Lieutenant Mattheson.
Before he began, he felt he needed to do something, he summoned up the strength to speak properly and tapped his commbadge,
=/\=Bridge this is Engineering, we're almost ready to give the Nav. Deflector a go at fixing the star. I'd also like to inform you, that should we need to make a fast exit or whenever we're ready to leave, the impulse engines are fired up and ready to go over half-impulse. As you know, that may blow out the engines, but hopefully with the overload routed through the Nav. Deflector this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Blakus out.=/\=

Nika listened to Blakus' update on the situation, both on the deflectors and the impulse engines, which granted her some relief. She didn't have to tell Commander Blakus that he should have the engines as prepped as possible, just in case the attempt to fix the star went wrong, so she didn't.
Nika really didn't want to think about what would happen if the work by Science and Engineering made the star collapse faster. It might end up destroying the Victory. Or, much worse, but fortunately less likely, the 'fix' for the star could make things worse. The Victory might manage to make it out of the system; the people still on the moons certainly would not. But Nika had been monitoring their progress, and many people would not make it out even if they had two hours over the estimated time of destruction.
Nika sunk into the Captain's chair, eyes nervously watching the viewscreen, until a few seconds later the officer at communications informed her that the Valnot General wanted to speak to her and the screen dissolved to show his face. “Captain,” he said, following an approving nod, which confused Nika. “I've heard of the increase in the timetable,” he said, as if he was sharing classified intelligence. But Nika had told that information to all the powers, since they all needed it. “And I regret to inform you that we cannot fully evacuate in that time. At least, we cannot evacuate our planet and Pelli. I think it's clear where my duty lies.”
“I urge you to reconsider,” Nika said, but it was obvious from the General's face that he didn't think that an option. Nika wasn't sure if she should say anything about the fact that hopefully everyone would have plenty of time, as a swift evacuation would be made unnecessary, but she didn't, because science didn't seem entirely sure that their solution would work. Although everyone assured her that the odds of it failing spectacularly were incredibly low. That didn't stop her from worrying.
“If there was nothing else...” Nika trailed off, and the Valnot General shook his head. “Then I have work to do. When you change your mind, just let the Pelli know.” Nika didn't worry about the Pelli too much for the moment, waiting to see whether science couldn't stop the star from exploding completely first.

Scene: Victory Main Bridge
The turbo lift doors swished open and cmdr Matthew stepped on to the bridge and walk over to the ops station . “Report.” Matthew ordered looking at one greatly relieved Lieutenant Matt Palmer.
“Commander Blakus reported in that both the deflectors and the impulse engines, where back on-line our current position the victory is currently here sir.” The tactical grid came up on the ops Console screen with all of the latest Scientific information on the current sun Thermal reading
“sir our Sensor readings are a little sketchy the solar flairs from the sun are not helping matters
“Good work Mr. Palmer. Nice clear report that will look good on your next Evaluation for promotion
“I look forward to reading that report In fact makes sure you forward a copy of the report to Lt, Commander’s Landers and Vela as they are overseeing the Evacuation on the Ground if needed ‘
‘Cmdr Matthew sat down at the ops station started pulling up the latest Department heads even those the ship had a operation actively underway there still was a ship to run’ “Cmdr Matthew sat and listened to reports from the departments, . The Engineering systems were working and repairs to the ship were almost complete, The Medical Department had cleared the bulk of the patients for regular duty, and only the physical therapists workload had really increased from the mission. Flight Operations was reported The Science Departments report was a bit scattered as they obviously weren’t expecting to report, Chief Science Officer Had her hand full at this time her report would be turn in later Cmdr Matthew would contact Lt, Col. Wong directly for a report on the Marines but figured that would be better handled in person on Wong ’s territory to make him feel less threatened.”
The OPS department was doing well seeing how the mission was more stressful than destructive, Systems still worked, the Mortuary staff was thankfully underused, The cleaning crews tasks were basically routine, communications were working, transporters were online, Admin was handling there PADD work, and the sensor operators were still processing data from the mission.
The Operations Master Chief final came in to report on his troops. Normally this would be reported to one of Matthew’s subordinates but he wanted to hear it for himself. The Master Chief made a well crafted and practiced argument for the amount of training he was putting his troops through.
“Master Chief I understand that training is your task. You are responsible for training all the enlisted personnel, and keeping my officers and I on top of our training tasks as well. I appreciate your work and the difficulty of the task but let me make something clear now so we have no misunderstandings in the future. The mission comes first, it is the first priority and it is the primary concern. Training is tertiary just behind the well being of the staff is that understood?” Matthew asked
“Sir, I understand what you are saying, but this staff needs to be trained, it needs to maintain their skills and they need to stay on top of all new procedures and information. Therefore we need more training not less.”
“Cmdr Matthew sighed. Master Chief I used to work in Intel, and the mission always came first, and the amount of new information we had to stay on top of was huge as things changed several times a day. That being said I expect the enlisted members of this staff, to focus on their job as a priority, you have a choice of 2 hours a shift for training, or split shift one day a week. That’s it, but if a priority issue or mission comes I don’t care if you are training them to breath, they will do the mission first is that clear?”
“Yes Sir.” Matthew out

The silence on the outside of the Victory was oppressive, Tiana liked to have some background noise but at the moment things were very quiet. Her two companions weren't talking at this moment so the only sounds she could hear were her own breathing and heartbeat. There was a slight vibration coming through her magnetic boots that reminded her that she was standing on a starship, but other than that it was quiet. Tiana started absently humming to herself as she connected up cables.
They had managed to work around the unlockable maglock and the focusing array was wired directly into a conduit. She didn't know how long any of the connections would last if the ship was forced to move much but for now...
=/\=Commander Galwyn to Crewman Hernandez, we're nearly ready to start up the array, Martha. Please keep an eye on conduit gamma 3. We'll be drawing heavily on it.=/\=
Tiana straightened up from her last piece of connecting. She looked at Lt Holland and Col. Wong, neither of whom seemed to connecting things up.
=/\=I guess we're done then.=/\= Tiana said, she received affirmative responses =/\=Okay then stand back I'm going to have Lt Blakus channel the graviton beam out of the deflector while I turn the array on.=/\=
The main reason she wanted everyone to stand back was that she wasn't sure exactly what was going to happen when the array powered up. She knew what was supposed to happen but that might not be what actually occurred. Not to mention that if everything did go wrong she was the one who stood the best chance of fixing things on the fly if there was trouble.

She muttered under her breath, of course Tiana would have to pick a slightly damaged and borderline unstable conduit to tap into still there was nothing much she could do about that now she just had to be ready.

"Yes sir," Holland said to Galwyn, he stood up from completing final calibrations of the focussing array. "I think we can give this a go.."
=/\=Okay then stand back I'm going to have Lt Blakus channel the graviton beam out of the deflector while I turn the array on.=/\=
The three officers silently shuffled backwards, the difficulty of working in space making them look like they were going in slow motion.
In Engineering, Lt.Cmdr. (although he still didn't yet know it) Blakus was making final adjustments. "Let's do this," he said with a deep, tired sigh. "Ready Lieutenant?" Lieutenant Mattheson nodded from his console on the other side of the warp core. "Ok, activating graviton pulse, now." He tapped the final command. Of course, the ship was not moving, when moving the deflector automatically projected gravitons in a combined pattern in front of the ship. Occasionally, deflectors were utilised unconventionally, such as in this case.
From the deflector came a beam of concentrated and, hopefully, focussed gravitons. The beam was of course invisible. The three officers on the outer hull were nicely out of reach.
"Power flow stable, the coils look to be working, we're just about on track." Lieutenant Mattheson reported the situation from his console. And that was just the deflector... Blakus thought.
Blakus opened a channel to the bridge, =/\=Bridge, this is Engineering, everything is stable, permission to activate the impulse engines.=/\=
Captain Cir'Kem's voice came through, signalling that permission was granted. The Victory's impulse engines lit up, glowing red. It was shaky, but it worked. "Two-thirds impulse." Blakus decided. Commander Pride moved the ship forward slowly, surely and thankfully steadily. The movement was simply a test, they were seeing if the deflector could handle the excess power being routed through it from the impulse engines.
"We're going to need three-quarters impulse to generate sufficient power sir." Mattheson reminded Blakus of a fact that the CEO already knew. He nodded simply in return. There wasn't much to be said at this stage, if the idea worked, then it worked. If it didn't work, well...
"Hernandez, status on the graviton sequencer?"
"It's holding," was her not too convincing reply. It's working... thought Blakus.
"Very well.. I think it's time." Blakus shot a glance at Ensign Bligh, who looked to be virtually praying that his handiwork with the deflector coils was going to work. Blakus rubbed the circulation back into his hands, and worked his panel. With trepidation, he stepped the impulse engines up to three-quarters of full power. If the bodge-repaired impulse drive couldn't take it, then they'd be dead in the water, maybe worse... Blakus noted that the ship was being turn, he found himself envisaging Commander Pride tapping the commands into his console as the ship swung around towards the brilliant star.
"Let's see what this does..." he muttered under his breath. Blakus loathed the idea that the Victory was heading towards the sun, but he had to remind himself that they weren't actually going at three-quarters impulse. The drive was producing power for that speed, but they were not using the Space-Time driver coils, which increased the ship to relativistic speeds.
"Whoa!" Mattheson exclaimed.
"What? What's wrong?" Blakus replied worriedly.
"Reading a power surge in that conduit supplying the focussing array." Mattheson said.
"Confirmed," said Hernandez. The deflector had been emitting for three minutes, the crew had no idea if that was long enough, but they had decided on five minutes initially. Let's hope it's enough to let whatever's going to happen happen, thought Blakus.
On the deflector dish the power surge caused a spark. All but two of the various tethers and power cables were broken, the array swung free. The three officers stood back in alarm and dropped to the hull, taking cover. But inevitably, due to fate, destiny, or whatever powers people may believe in, the loose device swung by the movement of the ship in the three officers direction. It was a fraction of a second from striking the three of them clean off the ship!

At the Commander's orders, Tiberian stood back from his position, though maintaining his ground in front of the other officers. The emmiter powered up, and the beam shot of towards the sun of the system. Tiberian breathed a sigh of relief, and he relaxed all of his previously tensed muscles. The plan had been a success, and they had saved the system and incidentally themselves.
"Well, all in all that could have gone worse" Tiberian said, as he turned with the other officers to head back towards the airlock.
Just then, a series of sparks and bolts of static were emmitted from the array, striking near the feet of the outside party. They turned back to see the emmiter fizzzle, fade and then die, with sparks still shooting out towards the securing cables. The tethers and cables snapped, and then an almighty blast propelled the instrument loose, flinging it wildly towards them.
"RUN!" Tiberian yelled at the other two as they all made their way as quickly as possible along the hull. Unfortunately their magentic boots prevented anything resembling a fast enough speed and within moments the array was just behind them. At the last moment, Tiberian unslung his phaser rifle, turned and went down on one knee, levelling his weapon at the equipment. "Now I remember why I brought a phaser rifle" he commented quyietly to himself, firing two shots, the first splintering a chunk from the emmitter, whilst the second pulverised the remnants of it. The remaining pieces floated harmlessly around them, as he, Galwyn and Holland all breathed a sigh of relief. Tiberian activated his communicator.
=/\=Wong to bridge. Please confirm the status of the systems star=/\=
=/\=I'm sorry Colonel=/\= one of the science officers replied =/\=But the coronal ejection factor has only decreased by 87%. The underlying cause is still present, and we've done nothing but buy time=/\=
=/\=Have Lieutenant Blakus meet us in Ten Forward. We need to come up with a new plan, and I need a drink=/\=
~A few minutes later in Ten Forward~
Tiberian was sat nursing an untouched glass of scotch when Blakus arrived, joining him, Glawyn and Holland. Tiberian began relating the bad news of which they were all more than well aware.
"Alright, so we bought time at least" he began "We obviously can't build another emmiter, so we need a direct method of intervention. I have a theory, but you're the experts so tell me if it's do-able. What if we got a shuttle, ejected its warp core and replaced it with a graviton emmiter. We could create a graviton shield in the same principle as a warp field, and then fly it into the sun. If we could get it close enough to the core, it should correct the problem. The only thing is, finding a way of maintaining enough heat shielding to stop the shuttle from burning up in the corona, and to maintain a constant graviton field as we fly it in. Any thoughts?"

OOC: Apologies for what is going to be a short post, I have inspiration but no time at the moment. Will try to edit later.
It had almost hurt when the array had been destroyed. It had done it's job, but (and this was a big but) it did not seem to have done enough. They had bought a little time and so the evacuation could continue safely for a little longer. However, it wasn't what she had been hoping for. Of course poking the universe on this sort of scale wasn't exactly predicable or repeatable science.
Tiana sat in silence in Ten Forward staring at an almost neon pink fruit punch. She was intending to going back to do more work soon but as Colonel Wong had pointed out she had been working non-stop since this began and was more than over due for some sort of break.
Any thoughts?" Tiana turned the idea over in her mind. Then her comm badge chirped.
=/\=Lieutenant Palmer to Commander Galwyn, You have to see this. It's the star.=/\= Tiana rolled her eyes slightly.
=/\=Could you be any more vague, Liam?=/\= She asked and heard him chuckle slightly. Whether this was a nervous tick or actually a sign of good news she didn't know. Leaving her drink on the table she headed for the doors.
=/\=I've never seen or heard of a star behaving like this=/\= Liam continued as Tiana got into a turbolift =/\=The fluctuations seem to have become rhythmic, but there is no change in the size.=/\=

Andae trudged down a corridor, he had a dour look on his face. He could not believe that the plan hadn't worked, there had always been the possibility of it he supposed but that didn't change how he felt. Sighing, he turned the final corridor and then the doors of Ten-Forward were before him, he tried to recall the last time he had been in there. Ahh yes, I remember, he thought. It had been before this nightmare had even set off.
The doors rolled back with a slight whirr and he stepped into the room. Instantly spotting Colonel Wong hunched over the table, along with Tiana and Lieutenant Holland, he headed over to them. Wordlessly, the tired engineer slotted himself into the one empty seat. He looked around at the others, wondering and yet knowing why none of them seemed to be saying anything. Eventually, Wong spoke,
"Alright, so we bought time at least" he said. He then related the rest of his idea. Blakus couldn't find anything he disagreed with in the theory, well, he may have found something if he had been a bit more awake, because of course, he couldn't let Wong spell out a perfect plan without conflicting with the Colonel on something. Blakus was the engineer, and thus should know more about these things, while Wong was only a marine.
As Blakus considered a reply he looked around again. Tiana seemed to be thinking, Holland was nodding slowly so Blakus spoke, "That seems like a good idea as a starting point... but as you point out Colonel, the problem will be getting the shuttle into the heart of the star itself but... hmm." Just then, Tiana got a call from the science department, she got up and left. Wonder where she's going...? Blakus thought.
In that instant, he got a brain-wave. "Colonel!" Blakus said a bit more enthusiastically than he had thought himself capable of, "I may have a solution, but you're not going to like it.
"While we were on our way here," he began, "I happened to visit one of the research departments aboard. They were working on an experimental technology - that can be constructed from materials aboard the ship incidentally - that would utilise high-strength structural integrity fields as a means of supercooling certain materials, including tritanium."
He let Wong take it in and then continued, "This could be adapted for a shuttle but there are two problems: One, the tech has never been used on anywhere near this large a scale. Two, and this is the part you're not going to like, it requires direct human interface to maintain it. In other words, someone's going to have to be in the shuttle..."
"I volunteer," said Lieutenant Holland instantly.
Blakus had been expecting that, "No Lieutenant," was all he replied with, the CEO looked at Wong... "Bear in mind we should consult the Captain before planning anything sir," he reminded him.

OOC: My edit has turned into another post. never mind
Tiana dashed on the bridge and hurried to the science station ricocheting off an ensign in gold who was coming the other way. With a rushed apology she made it to Liam's side.
"So what's happening?" She asked.
Liam did his best not to sigh, he didn't really know what was happening, or rather he knew what was happening but not why it was happening and that meant that he had no idea what was likely to happen next. He swallowed
"Seventeen minutes after the beam cut off the number of chronitons in the star dropped to one fifth. My hypothesis is that this was the time it took the particles to penetrate to the core of the star."
Tiana nodded, that made sense to her. "and the fluctuations you mentioned?" she queried leaning over his shoulder to look at the scrolling data.
"Here and here," He touched the screen "as you can see for about five seconds in each case the output of the star changed back to what would be expected for a type O star of this age." He gave a shrug. "I don't know what it means but somehow it makes me hopeful."
That comment made Tiana giggle, which was a wonderful tension relief. She managed to mostly smother the sound, aware that she was still on the bridge.
She looked over to where Russell was standing. He looked very stress. She hoped she could offer some good news. Tiana walked over to him. "As you know the graviton beam bought us some more time, but it seems the star may be under going a further period of fluctuation. Its possible that it may restabilise." She wasn't sure he was hearing her. She touched his arm causing him to jump.
Her voice dropped in volume, "are you all right?" she asked.

If Nika was upset that the plan hadn't worked, she didn't show it. Truth be told, she saw that what they had accomplished was a real and noticeable improvement in the condition of the sun, and she was relieved that no one had been hurt. That part had been uncertain for a paralyzing moment on the bridge.
But while the plan had failed and the equipment had had to be destroyed, it had bought time, and it might well be that the time would be enough. Nika still wanted very much to save the system, but if that wasn't possible they now at least had a better chance of evacuating almost everyone to safety.
Nika immediately got on the line to the Valnot General, and, when her quiet insistence that yes, she really did need to talk to him immediately, finally made him answer the other end, she informed the General that the Victory had bought more time for evacuation. She offered to send over a copy of the Victory's sensors as they related to the sun as proof, if he found it necessary, but the Valnot General assured her that he did not. Nika wasn't surprised at his response.
Therefore, she told him firmly, his people would have plenty of time to rescue both themselves and the Pelli, and that she fully expected his people to do so. When Nika casually mentioned that the science and engineering team was working on further reducing the buildup of the sun which would cause it to explode, she knew that she hadn't left the Valnot General much of a choice but to agree.
After finishing her conversation and confirming with the Pelli that the Valnot were resuming their evacuation, Nika received a call from Commander Blakus. He informed her that he had an idea that he wanted checked with her, and Nika offered to meet him in ten-forward. She handed the bridge over to Commander Davis, and arrived in ten-forward to hear the explanation.

Russell looked at the report he had been given from each of the three nations, evacuations were almost ready to leave but none had left so far, hoping they would leave soon as with the present time scale if they leave in over an hour from now, ships from the moons would not escape in time. He heard the science lieutenant mention to the bridge that they were about to begin their attempt at calming the star, Russell took the XO chair as the captain had returned shortly before and started hoping that they succeeded without any complications. As he waited for the science station to report on any affect that they had have no the star, after several agonising minutes the science lieutenant spoke that they had been able to slow down the destabilisation but not completely undo it. Annoyed he turned to speak to her she activated the view screen and began a long discussion with the Velnot’s General’s Office, while Nika spoke to the general Russell quickly began checking on the progress of the other two nations, Pelli was sending its first extremely over packed transport ships out and the Kavris people were almost ready for a full scale departure. As Nika got what she wanted out of the Velnot General she left the bridge to be quickly replace by Tiana, Russell quickly began working out by the present rate how long it would take to evacuate the planet and both moons as he began to work it out Tiana walked over to him. "As you know the graviton beam bought us some more time, but it seems the star may be undergoing a further period of fluctuation. It’s possible that it may restabilise." She wasn't sure he was hearing her. She touched his arm causing him to jump.
Her voice dropped in volume, "are you all right?" she asked Russell had not meant to have jumped but he mind was all over the place and he felt that he needed to have a rest soon or he was going to have a mental breakdown, “I am fine Tiana, my mind was just elsewhere” Russell said in a lowered voice, before Tiana could respond the lieutenant manning the science station all of a suddenly swore. “Lieutenant, report” Russell said with a edge of warning in his tone, “Sir, sorry sir, the sensors have gone crazy, they are saying that a mountain region on Kavris has began to fly” Russell stood in shock, the idea that an entire mountain region could up and fly off was inconceivable, Tiana quickly moved to the science station to check on the sensors to see if they were working but as she began the mountain hailed them.
“Sir, the ummm mountain is hailing us” Russell could understand the hesitancy to give it a name, “On screen” was Russell’s response while quickly taking the Captain chair, “This is Commander Davis of the Victory, identify yourself” Russell felt that working out what they were was probably the best first course “Victory, this is the Science vessel Hau, please excuse the mountains this ship was being built underground but with all the EM pulses, they have fried the door controls so we decided to launch the entire station and let gravity tear most of the land away” Russell watched as the mountain slowly ripped itself apart on its slow journey out of Kavris’ atmosphere. “So you are the science vessel the Kavris people would like to remain to watch the star blow up” Russell could not help but watch as the base started to reveal itself before exploding from the inside to reveal a rather large ship about twice the size of the victory. “That would be us, we will also allow as many refugees to board us as necessary to help evacuate the Pelli people” Russell smiled at that statement thanking the chief scientist before closing the channel he quickly hit his comm. Badge =/\= Captain, it seems that science vessel the Kavris people made is quite large and they are willing to aid the Pelli, we might just pull this evacuation off=/\=

Shortly after Blakus had called on the Captain, she walked through Ten-Forward's doors. Blakus and Wong instantly stood to attention, but Cir'Kem signalled them down and asked what Blakus and Wong were planning.
This is going to be interesting, he thought. Blakus had no idea how the Captain was going to react to his and the Colonel's idea. He related it to her and then studied her intensely for a reaction, he could not be sure but he guesstimated that she didn't like the idea... overmuch. "It would only be one shuttle." But he knew that wasn't the part that was causing Cir'Kem trouble, it was the part which involved sending an actual person in the shuttle. But there was no choice, it was either send a person, or the whole plan would not work, it was an integral part of the idea.
"Captain," Blakus started again attempting to convince her, he didn't actually know if she was convinced or not but he didn't want to take the chance, "We theorise that we should be able to get the shuttle out of the star before it burns up, if we use this admittedly highly experimental technology." He'd said 'admittedly' quite fast and quiet. "If it's not necessary now that we've bought so much time then we won't do it. But I still think we can save this people's home."
<Tag Cir'Kem>
Blakus sometimes felt very empathic, and sympathetic, towards others' troubles. He had experienced on this mission already, back on the station with... Tun-Ga, that had been his name. I wonder what's happening with him? he wondered.
Andae could only imagine what it must be like for the Kavrisians, he just couldn't put himself in their position. Despite all the tumult and ruin that had embroiled this system for many years, Blakus could only come to the conclusion that what was happening now completely outstripped everything that had come before, they were losing their home.

Nika listened to the idea from Commander Blakus, and tried not to show on her face just how much she disapproved of it. “You can't do it without having a person in the shuttle?” Nika asked, to make absolute sure. “You couldn't just use a hologram, or something like that?” Holographic technology had undergone quite a lot of improvements in the last decade, so Nika thought it was worth considering.
She could tell that Blakus was considering the idea, although she didn't know if he was doing it just for show. It was likely that it had occurred to him, and he had already discarded it as nonviable. Indeed, after a pause he told her it needed to be a person in the shuttle.
“I can't do that, then.” Nevermind her personal opposition to the cost, Nika couldn't send someone to their certain death. Not as long as there were other options.
And, it seemed that there were plenty of other options, as Nika was contacted by Commander Davis. =/\= Captain, it seems that science vessel the Kavris people made is quite large and they are willing to aid the Pelli, we might just pull this evacuation off=/\=
=/\=That is quite good news, Commander=/\=Nika acknowledged. =/\=Inform the Pelli of their aid. And thank you.=/\=
This solution would not save the homes of the Pelli, or anyone else in the system, but Nika didn't rank those homes above a single life. But then, Nika had left her own home a while ago. It wasn't gone, but she hadn't visited it since she'd left, and she had no great connection to the planet.
“I'm afraid at this time I will take your suggestion under advisement, but I do not believe the circumstances rate that extreme of a measure,” Nika told Blakus and Wong.

As Sharp Wakes up he notice that he is in sickbay and hardly anyone is around. Sharp gets up and starts to stand and feels pain in his right leg. Sharp shifts most of his weight to his left leg and limps out of sickbay and heads towards his quarters and changes into a fresh uniform and then heads for the bridge. When Sharp enters the bridge he notices everyone is busy. The captain sees him and notices him and motions him to come over and explains the situation to him.

Tiana was trying to reassure Russell when suddenly she heard Liam cursing.
“Lieutenant, report” Russell said with a edge of warning in his tone, “Sir, sorry sir, the sensors have gone crazy, they are saying that a mountain region on Kavris has began to fly” Russell hurried to Liam's side, he really wasn't having a good day on the sensors but he was still hanging in there. Then the comms channel beeped to indicate that the mountain was hailing them. Tiana wondered for a moment if she had actually woken up this morning; perhaps the whole day was an awful dream...
Tiana tried to stop herself laughing aloud as the people on the Hau spoke to Commander Davis. "Liam, when we are out of here, I owe you a drink." Tiana said. The Lieutenant's face broke into a slightly watery smile.
"After today, I think I'm gonna need it." he replied as he lent against the science console. He was all ready wary of what would show up on it next but still his desire to discover the unknown survived. Although, he admitted to himself, it had been a very rough day.
The two of them stood in silence by the science station, Tiana listened to Lt Blakus's idea. She really didn't like it, and was doing her best to think of either an alternative or a way to get the pilot out of the shuttle. She didn't want to see someone die.

Tiberian nodded and quietly acknowledged the Captain's decision as she left, then turning to Blakus with a grimace. He didn't like this situation, less so for the fact that even a success in this case could be ranked alongside a failure in regards to the creation of tens of millions of refugees.
"Chief, how long would it take to get the modifications to the shuttle we discussed installed and operational. By that I also mean the experimental modifications that should allow us to live"
<TAG Blakus>
Tiberian nodded at the estimate, deciding it wasn't overly long in the short term.
"In that case begin immediately" he saw suspicion on the engineers face and quickly continued "Just in case the Captain changes her mind and lets us use it after all. I'll be in science lab one if you need me" He smiled and turned away, thinking to himself that he had no intention of waiting if the situation neccessitated it.
He left Ten Forward and headed for the science lab, slipping in quietly to what turned out to be a deserted room. Most of the science staff, he hypothesised, would be either on the bridge or in engineering by now, monitoring the star and evacuation efforts. He went to the nearest terminal, drawing up a simplistic star chart of the system.
"Computer, show the area of destruction when the sun goes fully nova" he ordered, gulping slightly to see the outline of the sun expand to encompass the entire system.
"And what percentage of the total poulation of the system can be evacuated before this event occurs?"
"Approximately 99.23 % of the total system's population would be evacuated by the time of this event"
"And what is the chance of survival of the remaining percentage within the system?"
"0.00%"
"Well that's comforting" Tiberian muttered, closing the star chart. He tapped his commbadge.
=/\=Wong to Commander Galwyn and Lieutenant Blakus, please meet me in science lab one at your earliest convenience=/\=
He sat down on the floor to think the situation through. Despite being less than one percent, in terms of lives the cost was astronomical. However, if the new technology didn't work then all he would achieve was to provide a last minute firework display for the soon to be dearly departed. Neither was a thought he particularly relished, but if things actually worked out, then all might be well. Or he might face a court martial. He waited until both of the other senior officers arrived before reaching up to the anel behind him and deactivating the monitoring devices in the room.
"Alright then my two favourite tech people, with these "experimental" modifications that Mr Blakus here mentioned, what are the actual odds of someone coming out of this alive. Honestly"
<TAG Blakus and Galwyn>
"In that case I want you to both know that I am considering directly violating the Captain's orders not to pursue this idea. If either of you do not wish to be a part of this you can leave now, but if you want to stay, I could sure use someone on the ship to talk me through how to work the tech side of things"

“I'm afraid at this time I will take your suggestion under advisement, but I do not believe the circumstances rate that extreme of a measure." With that Captain Cir'Kem departed from Ten-Forward, Andae watched as the doors hissed close and the Captain disappeared from view, leaving Blakus, Wong and Holland to listen to the ever-present hum of the ship. Andae felt like he'd just been punched in the stomach. She hadn't gone for it.. but then, what had he been expecting? He concluded that he didn't know the Captain well enough to know what to expect of her, which frustrated his ever-working mind.
The CEO desperately wanted to do something to save the system but it looked like it would have to be done another way... "Chief, how long would it take to get the modifications to the shuttle we discussed installed and operational." Andae blinked and looked to his side, Wong was speaking to him, "By that I also mean the experimental modifications that should allow us to live."
"Two hours as a rough estimate," Blakus said in reply to Wong, "Although I reckon I can get it done in an hour or more."
"In that case begin immediately."
Blakus eyed the SMO, He's not seriously considering it...? he thought. He had had a feeling that the Colonel might want to take things into his own hands, and all of a sudden he couldn't decide what he thought of it. Wong came up with an excuse for his sudden action, and like he'd watched Cir'Kem leave, Blakus now watched the SMO depart Ten-Forward. As he did, things started churning over in his mind. What was he going to do? Wong was definitely planning something, that he knew for sure. But where did Blakus stand?
It would be a chance to do as he desired, save this race's home at all costs. But there was also a real risk of failure and, on the other hand, there were the inevitable disciplinary consequences.
These confusing thoughts occupied Blakus's brain as he and Holland walked all the way back to Engineering. But as they entered, Blakus's commbadge went off. He knew who it was before they even started speaking, Wong. Leaving Holland to coordinate efforts in Engineering Blakus headed to the science lab where Wong had said he was. He met Tiana just outside the lab, and by the telling look that she gave him, Blakus knew that she must have found out about his idea, Probably from the Captain... he deduced.
"Alright then my two favourite tech people," Wong greeted them as they answered, he was sitting on the floor which Blakus oddly found himself understanding. He and Tiana sat themselves on the floor with Wong, forming a ring. "With these "experimental" modifications that Mr Blakus here mentioned," Wong continued, "What are the actual odds of someone coming out of this alive. Honestly."
Blakus leapt in, "Seventy percent maybe less, assuming the device we're carrying works. If it doesn't then-"
"In that case I want you to both know that I am considering directly violating the Captain's orders not to pursue this idea." Wong unintentionally cut him off, "If either of you do not wish to be a part of this you can leave now, but if you want to stay, I could sure use someone on the ship to talk me through how to work the tech side of things."
At that the Colonel looked around at Andae and Tiana. No one spoke for at least two minutes. To his shock, Andae found himself seriously veering towards agreeing with Wong and helping out the SMO. He cursed inwardly, Damn, why do I always have to get like this!? Indecisive! Caring too much for people I hardly know! It wasn't like it happened all of the time, sometimes Andae would find himself indifferent towards peoples' predicaments, other times... well. It was torturous! But then, something snapped in his mind, he had felt it coming, slowly building itself up in his head, the courage to do what he felt was right. Because it was right, he was always.. right, he had to be..... And the words were coming out before he could stop them,
"I'm with you, Colonel. Let's get working."

=/\=Wong to Commander Galwyn and Lieutenant Blakus, please meet me in science lab one at your earliest convenience=/\=
Tiana was still on the bridge when her comm badge bleeped. She aknowledged the message and then rolled her eyes at Liam, it didn't take two of them to stare at the science station after all. She walked to Russell's side.
"I'm going down to science lab 1, I have a suspicion about what our SMO has planned."
Tag: Russ
Tiana walked briskly to Science Lab 1, she met Lieutenant Blakus in the hallway out side.
"Alright then my two favourite tech people," Wong greeted them He was sitting on the floor in the middle of the lab, Tiana hoped he hadn't been fiddling with anything. Off the top of her head she couldn't remember who had been running experiments in here last but was relieved her team were very efficient about clearing up after themselves, unless something had been left running anyway.
Tiana shrugged in response to the SMO's question and settled cross legged on the floor. "With these "experimental" modifications that Mr Blakus here mentioned," Wong continued, "What are the actual odds of someone coming out of this alive. Honestly." Tiana wasn't completely sure what the plan was but knowing that involved something to do with modifying a shuttle's shields and flying it into the star the odds could not be good.
Blakus leapt in,"Seventy percent maybe less, assuming the device we're carrying works.
'Seventy percent was the odds if it worked,' Tiana thought she didn't want to consider the other odds but it was obvious that Colonel Wong had and was determined to go through with this plan. That certainly made him brave but maybe a touch suicidal... Tiana knew that when she was stressed her thoughts tended to ramble.
To her surprise Lieutentant Blakus spoke up. "I'm with you, Colonel. Let's get working."
"Just to keep you up to date," Tiana added partailly to avoid the decision and partly because it was the most logical thing she could think of to say "The Karvis science vessel turned out to be rather large and is aiding with the evacuation of the Pelli people so at least that is coming on rather well." Barely pausing for breath she continued with a disjointed train of thought "I assume you are boosting the experimental technology with metaphasic shielding?"
'Well' she thought to herself 'if they don't think you are completely nuts all ready they will soon.'

Nika looked at Commander Sharp, surprised to see him. “Welcome back,” she said. “Are you feeling alright?” She had noticed his limp, and wondered why sickbay hadn't healed him.
He asked for an update to the situation, and Nika gave it to him. She covered the failed partially successful attempt at ending the explosion of the sun, and the fact that most everyone would be able to be evacuated now. She skipped the idea Blakus had, that involved sending someone in a shuttle into the sun, as she had said that wasn't a viable option.
Nika glanced around the bridge, as she was sure that she had something she wanted Sharp to be doing, but she couldn't think of it just now. She noticed that the only other senior staff on the bridge were Commander Davis, Matthew, and, of course, Sharp. Nika shrugged, and turned back to Sharp, remembering what she needed him for.
“We're going to need to start taking on refugees as soon as we can. Can you please prepare security precautions. Enlist other officers if necessary, because we need to get some areas set up for them, and soon.”
Nika turned to Commander Davis. “Would you mind lending a hand to Commander Sharp?” she asked.

"I'm going down to science lab 1, I have a suspicion about what our SMO has planned." Russell looked at Tiana before speaking “Well do not do anything dangerous” Russell did not know the SMO well enough but he was not going to like him if he did anything to Tiana. As Tiana left the bridge Nika arrived and was instantly grabbed by Sharp, as Robert spoke to Nika Russell moved over to speak to Nika as he approached he caught the last of Nika’s conversation to Robert. “We're going to need to start taking on refugees as soon as we can. Can you please prepare security precautions. Enlist other officers if necessary, because we need to get some areas set up for them, and soon.” Russell agreed with the idea of setting up for the refugees but he felt it only prudent to start thinking of their own survival as well. Nika turned to Commander Davis. “Would you mind lending a hand to Commander Sharp?” she asked. “Yes ma’am, but I think it only prudent at this point to have science work out how far this star will destroy and how long it will take to get there at our present speed, taking on refugees is all well and good but if we can’t get out of danger with them what is the point.”
<Tag Nika>
As Russell listened to Nika’s response to Russell began thinking on who would be free at the moment to help with the preparations and organising of the refugees, “I will inform Commander Goldwyn en-route” turning to leave the bridge he quickly spoke to Robert “Commander, I want you to round up your Security officers and head for cargo bay 2, we will start from there. I will head to science lab 1 as Colonel Wong is there and I will ask him to help then I will meet you in cargo bay 2”
<Tag Sharp>
Russell watched as Robert left the turbo lift to gather up his officers while Russell continued on to the science levels. As Russell walked on to science lab 1 he heard down the corridor sounds of talking from the science labs, as he arrived at the open door of science lab 1 he overhead part of the conversation that Wong and co were having. “... am considering directly violating the Captain's orders not to pursue this idea. If either of you do not wish to be a part of this you can leave now, but if you want to stay, I could sure use someone on the ship to talk me through how to work the tech side of things" Russell was a little confused by what he had heard come out of someone he guessed was the Senior Marine Officer but he could not be sure but before he could step in to stop them he heard another person talk "I'm with you, Colonel. Let's get working." Russell recognised the voice as belonging to Andae, making his way to the door he heard Tiana speak "Just to keep you up to date," ... "The Karvis science vessel turned out to be rather large and is aiding with the evacuation of the Pelli people so at least that is coming on rather well." Barely pausing for breath she continued with a disjointed train of thought "I assume you are boosting the experimental technology with metaphasic shielding?" Russell looked at the officers as they noted that he was there, Andae looked on the verge of panic, but the marine he took to be Tiberian Wong looked as if he had known he was there, “Colonel Wong, could you please report to cargo bay 2, we are starting to set up for refugees from the three nations and as you are not doing very much I would appreciate your assistants now” Russell placed special emphasis on the now part.

Before they had a chance to respond Russell continued “right, I want both of you to begin prepping this ship to go, if there are any plans the captain has authorised than obviously continue them, but I want engineering prioritising repairs to get this ship as much speed as possible. Commander Galwyn I want you to begin calculating how far the star will destroy and how long it will take us to get out of the blast range”

“If there are no other questions then please let us get to work as I would not want to delay you working on some side projects you have running” Russell left at this point so as not to show he true emotions to them, Nika had mentioned their plan while she was on her way up to the bridge, and he could not help but agree with them slightly but he hoped they could work out a way to eliminate the human need. Arriving in Cargo bay 2 to find the security officers already clearing the cargo bay ready for refugees, noting Robert ordering a few officers around Russell walked over “How are things here Commander”

"Right away sir"
Tiberian responded to the XO's orders without hesitation, offering a sly wink to Andae and Tiana as he left. He had a strange feeling that the Commander had overheard at least part of thier conversation, but given that he hadn't let on, he wasn't fearing arrest at any point in the near future. As things stood, he would complete his duties and then contact the others to see if any progress could be made.
He arrived moments later in Cargobay 2 to see a menagerie of security offcers and marines milling throughout the bay, attempting to clear the area for refugees. Given that they appeared to be operating with the efficiency of headless chickens, Tiberian took control.
"You" he shouted at a bunch of security officers attempting to move several barrels of galacite by hand "Speed is of the essence, so stop showing off and get an anti-grav sled. Now"
He moved off through the cargobay, redirecting the movement of some of the supplies, having others simply pushed up against the walls. Deciding what needed to be moved, he tapped his commbadge.
=/\=Wong to Lieutenant Tallows. I need to start transporting some of the bulkier items out of cargobay 2 to other areas of the ship. Send it to the holodecks and shuttlebays, and start transporting at will=/\=
=/\=Will do Colonel=/\= the brief reply came moments before a large cargo container, along with the unfortunate crewman who was pushing dematerialised from the cargobay.
"Looks like the targeting scanners are still damaged" Tiberian muttered as he gestured to Martinez who was supervising to come over. "We need to split this bay into three seperate areas, coded red, green and blue. Set Red up for the Pelli, Blue for the Kavris and Green for the Valnot. Seperate them off by forcefields, and leave a gap between the three areas to move people around"
"I'll start getting portable shield generators" Martinez nodded, Tiberian catching his arm before he left.
"Have one of the marine engineers sent down to shuttlebay one as well. Tell them to wait there for further instructions" Tiberian patted the Sergeant major on the arm before striding out of the shuttlebay, seeing that Sharp had now taken charge, and was deep in discussion with the XO. He walked to engineering, findig the on duty shift running from one station to another, working to counteract the damage done by the earlier EMP. Finding the Chief was not hard, as Tiberian only really needed to stand in one spot and wait for him to run past. Catching him, Tiberian whispered.
"I've got a man waiting in the shuttlebay. I realise how busy your crew is right now, so if you can transport the necessary equipment down there when you get a second, preferrably with a set of instructions, he can install it. I'm not going to risk anyone else, so I'll fly the shuttle, but I'm relying on either you or Tiana to give me operating instructions so I don't get myself killed. I know I'm asking you to risk your career for this, so if you want to back out now, I won't think any less of you"
